"Mixed Experience at MorningStar: Improved Facilities, Poor Accounting, Security Concerns"

MorningStar of Hayward is all spruced up after a recent makeover. The place looks fresh and clean, with new carpets, walls, bathrooms, and fixtures. Here's the scoop: Pros: Lots of fun activities like exercise, bingo, and blackjack keep the elders engaged. The food's usually good, though there were a couple of slip-ups. Dad's happy with his daily dose of ice cream. The laundry and housekeeping crew are top-notch. Transportation to appointments is reliable. Medical staff is helpful even for non-assisted living residents. Cons: Dealing with the finance folks is a headache. The Wi-Fi has been wonky for ages, making streaming a pain. The personnel are hit or miss. Security needs tightening – random people wandering in is a no-go. Parking and communication glitches add stress. Overall, I'd tentatively recommend MorningStar, but watch your wallet and stay vigilant. More residents could help balance costs.

"Casa Sandoval: Peaceful Setting and Great Activities"

They're having a tough time finding a van driver, so they're doing our shopping for us. They're really trying hard to find someone, though. They even drive us to church on Sundays and are very helpful while they sort it out. The activities here are awesome, with lots to do. I love watching the wildlife; it's so peaceful with all the trees around. Plus, we're close to the Japanese tea garden, grocery stores, and shopping, so the location is great. The apartments are a bit bigger than others I've seen. I would definitely recommend Casa Sandoval to anyone looking.

"Clean, friendly, and caring community with engaging resident activities."

This place is really well-run, clean, and friendly. The staff are super caring too. They have fun stuff like live music, crafts, workouts, and more for residents to stay busy and have fun.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"

The staff was really nice and showed me around online. They showed me outside, a pretend apartment, places everyone can use, and they answered all my questions. I really liked the outside area and the pretend apartment. They are fixing things up for a few years and have deals because of it.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

I visited this facility, and it was decent. The new ownership has been in place for the last three months. However, during my visit to the second floor, I noticed an unpleasant smell.

"Great staff and care at Casa Sandoval"

Finding a good assisted living facility for my mom was tough earlier this year. She couldn't live alone anymore after 60 years in her home. We checked out several places and luckily chose Casa Sandoval in Hayward. Other places could have worked, but Casa Sandoval fit our needs best. It's close to my home, so we visit often. The best part is the amazing staff and the care they give my mom. They handle all her needs well. The whole place is very clean, including her apartment. The dining hall has good food choices, and the staff there are friendly and helpful. We highly recommend Casa Sandoval to anyone looking for quality care for their loved ones. Their fees are reasonable compared to other options. We're glad we picked Casa Sandoval from our list of places to check out. Thanks for letting us share our appreciation for Casa Sandoval's care for my mom.

""Neglected Facility with Alleged Staff and Health Issues""

This place appears neglected, with hearsay about staff issues and health regulation breaches.

"Amazing place, worth every penny!"

Casa Sandoval is amazing, and the staff is so kind. It's a perfect home for seniors who need care. It costs a bit more, but it's worth it.

"Decent Place, But Sales Rep Missed Timings"

Good place. Sales rep wasn't on time for the meeting.

"Smooth Transition, Helpful Staff, Engaging Activities - Highly Recommend!"

My friend's transition here was smooth. Staff help her well, ensuring her needs are met. She likes the meals and joins activities slowly. I'd surely suggest it to retirees.

"Smooth Transition and Happy Mom at Casa Sandoval"

Thinking about options in the Bay Area? Consider Casa Sandoval! We had little time to plan, but the staff made the move smooth. Mom's happy, and the activities and food are just right.

"Great Choice for Bay Area Assisted Living"

If you're looking for assisted living in the Bay Area, you should definitely consider this place. We had to move my Mom from skilled nursing to assisted living very quickly. The staff at Casa Sandoval made it happen smoothly and on time. My Mom is happy there and gets her medications on schedule, which is a big relief. The activities and food portions are just right for the residents.

"Outstanding Community with Caring Staff and Great Activities"

We are really happy with this community; everything is going great. It’s an amazing place with friendly people. They keep it clean and well cared for. The staff is wonderful and takes great care of him. He has even tried some new activities. I’ve tasted the food, and the meals are really good. My family was very impressed. I definitely recommend this community!

"A Welcoming Assisted Living Facility"

This place is great for anyone with assisted living needs. My sister has been there for a short period of time, and she seems to like it. It's nice, clean, friendly, and respectful. I'd give them 4.5 stars.

The staff here are really nice and polite. There are lots of activities to keep you busy, and you get three meals every day. I really like it.

"Great Place for Assisted and Independent Living"

It was close to my loved one’s home, which made things easier for her. The marketing director was friendly and always available, making our visits very helpful. The staff are super positive with both the residents and each other. One of the best things about this place is that it has both assisted and independent living, which made it much easier for my loved one.

"Amazing staff makes transition easier for my mom"

I really like it there. It’s a big change for my mom. She fell and broke her hand in another state, so I had to move her to California. She’s away from her friends now. Even though she’s trying to adjust, everything else is great. The people there are amazing!

"Moving into Casa Sandoval: A Senior's Experience"

After my friend moved into Casa Sandoval, they were super helpful in getting her new TV working and fixing her window, which she couldn't open. When she recently fell, they were right there to assist her, so the overall response has been really good. The food is just okay.

"High Monthly Fees; Shockingly Poor Care at Assisted Living Facility"

This facility is awful. If a resident falls over, there's a rule that the staff can't help them up. I'd expect top-notch care for my family members for 5 grand monthly.

""Okay Experience at Casa Sandoval, Great Food and Nice Staff""

Casa Sandoval is okay in my book. The people who take care of my mom are really nice and the workers are super friendly. The place is also pretty clean most of the time. But, my mom lives on the second floor and I think it could smell a bit better in my opinion. I would also appreciate if the elevators were a bit cleaner and smelled nicer. But, I have to say, the food they make is super tasty.

"Casa Sandoval Review: Good Place, Not Great for Dementia"

Overall, we thought Casa Sandoval was pretty good, but it didn't seem right for our dad's memory issues.

"Impressive Changes!"

I really like it. The prices went down, and the rooms seem bigger. My dad is happy, and it's very nice. The meals are excellent. There's enough parking, but the visitor parking is a bit challenging. The laundry service is fine, but residents can use washers and dryers if they want.

"We really liked what we saw at Casa!"

We really liked our visit to Casa. The residents seemed happy and involved. The staff we met showed they cared deeply about their work and the activities. It felt like more than just a job for them. We also liked that the monthly fee only goes up when necessary, not automatically each year. Plus, the rules for daily living stay the same, which is important for residents.

"Clean and Friendly Assisted Living Facility with Great Care Improvement"

This place is awesome! We're super satisfied with it! They really keep the place clean, and the staff are always nice and helpful. The care is getting better, and there are lots of activities.

"Very happy with this place!"

I have only good things to say about this place. The staff is always friendly and aware of everyone coming in. Cleaning happens once a week, and there's a laundromat on every floor. Before moving in, my mother and her friend weren't eating well, so I appreciate the three meals a day. The unit is nice, though they mentioned the shower is a bit small. She is happy here. It's a nice place with affordable rent. They have a library and a quiet room. The other residents are very friendly. You can see everyone is in a good mood by how they dress, and at Sandoval, they all look nice. There are always events planned. Ann is always kind and hardworking. Everyone has been really nice. Everything is taken care of, and I am very happy with it.

"Potential Need for Relocation in Facility"

We toured several facilities and this one didn't impress us. If my mother's health situation changed, we'd need to relocate her to a separate building. The facility's assisted living is spread across two levels and after that, another floor is needed. The concern is if we moved her, she'd need to get accustomed to a new environment all over again. Fortunately, her current residence doesn't pose this challenge.

"Incredibly Accommodating and Flexible"

I thought it was amazing. This wasn’t for a parent, just someone I was taking care of, and I have to say the care was wonderful. They met her needs and let her stay in a room that was better for her, in independent living even though she was closer to needing assisted living. They handled all of that, so I have to give them a lot of credit. The activities were good. She didn’t join many, but she did some. They had lots of different options. I know they had movies and a few other things, but I’m not sure of everything they offered. I have no suggestions for improvement. Their ability to meet our needs was amazing, and their willingness to adjust things was great. She’s very picky, and they managed that well. I thought they were excellent. I was very impressed. I would recommend them.

""Caring Staff, Uninspiring Facility with Garden View""

The people who work here are really nice and caring, but the place feels a little gloomy and dark. On the bright side, a lot of the rooms have a great view of the amazing Japanese garden close by.
