"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Care and Refunds"
Our family faced challenges with our loved one's care. They stayed briefly, but we weren't refunded. I think they didn't get proper care. The community was hesitant about transferring or readmitting them. The memory care unit didn't have enough staff for all residents. We were asked to hire extra help for our loved one.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The staff could communicate better with families. Some are better. The main director is good, and the sales director always responds. Sometimes, emails or texts get replies, sometimes not. We weren't told to label clothes and bedding. Something went missing during laundry. It would've been nice to know beforehand. Overall, the community is decent, not the best or worst. Quick tour, clean with no weird smells. Friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant-style dining available. Limited activities, especially during Covid outbreak. Residents asked to stay in rooms for safety.

""Unfriendly Tour Guide and Cramped Lobby, But Upgrades in Progress""
The entrance section was kind of tiny and packed. The worker who guided us wouldn't stop talking and completely ignored me when I attempted to make a comment or ask something. The place is getting some improvements, and that seemed right.

"Comfortable and caring assisted living; worth the investment for peace."
Cedar Creek is a really nice place. Some of my friends live there and it's always clean. The people who work there are super helpful and they really care about the folks who live there. There are lots of things to do that are just right for people their age. The food is yummy and it feels like a really loving place. I think it would be great to spend my older years there. It does cost a lot, but they do a lot for the people who live there. Good care is important, and even though it's expensive, knowing that my loved one is well taken care of is priceless.

"Cedar Creek is a Blessing for Our Family"
We couldn't have asked for anything better than Cedar Creek! We used to worry a lot about my grandmother, but now we feel so relieved. She didn't want to go at first, but she quickly made it her home. She has made so many friends and is always busy. There's always something fun happening, and the staff and management are always involved. The staff knows everyone by name and treats everyone like family. They help her with so much, and from what we've seen before, we know you can't find good care everywhere. Cedar Creek is the answer to our prayers! Grandma is happy, and that's all that matters to us!

Disheartened Family
"Disappointing Care Experience at Cedar Creek Assisted Living Facility"
Initially, Cedar Creek seemed like a good choice for Dad, even though it was pricey. But as time passed and Dad's memory worsened, so did the care. At first, I did his laundry, bathed him, cleaned his room, and brought him extra food. But these things should have been covered by what we were paying. When I stopped doing them, the staff complained. We were paying for a higher rate studio, not the base $2,500. They even arranged medical care outside of his coverage without my permission. Despite my complaints to the director, nothing changed. Dad's snacks started disappearing, and when I brought it up, I was told to stop bringing them. Many other issues, like missing items and unattended packages, were ignored. Even when family members caused problems, no action was taken. Dad started losing weight quickly, and one evening, I found him without dinner. The staff hadn't brought him any food. I had to bring him food myself. I'm looking for a new place because I don't feel they're willing to help once someone can't care for themselves.

"Dissatisfaction with Cedar Creek"
When I first took my dad to Cedar Creek, it seemed like a good deal. Yes, it was expensive but they promised top-notch care. But as my dad's memory worsened, the level of care dropped. For the first couple of years, I took care of his laundry, bathed him, tidied his room and brought extra food for him. I started withdrawing from those tasks because I was paying enough for them to take care of all that, apart from the snacks. Then, some of the staff started complaining about having to do those tasks. Mind you, we weren't paying the basic $2,500 fee but the higher rate for a studio. They also started using medical services that weren't covered by his insurance without asking me. One staff member even told the resident doctor that I'd authorized her to be his main doctor, when I'd told her just the opposite. I complained to the director who, as always, promised to investigate. Nothing changed. Snacks I brought in started to go missing at a worrying rate. The director told me that he'd seen my dad giving them away, even though that wasn't like him. Those snacks were important for keeping his weight up. I was even told to stop bringing snacks because they kept disappearing. There were also other problems. Things went missing, packages were delivered to his room unsupervised, some family members were causing trouble. I asked the staff to keep an eye on these issues, but nothing changed. His weight dropped quickly. One evening, nearing 6:30pm, I asked if he'd been to dinner, and they told me he didn't want to go. When I checked on him, he was alone in front of the TV, no food. I brought him something to eat and he eagerly dug in. I'm now looking for somewhere else for him to stay. I don't think Cedar Creek is prepared to help once people's ability to look after themselves decreases.

"Management at this facility overlooks needy residents and cleanliness."
A few of the staff genuinely care at this facility. However, the people running the place are unmotivated. They're only interested in filling their pockets. They take the rent money and spare no expense in hiring the least number of workers possible without seeming careless. Thus, only the residents who can take care of themselves quite well flourish here. However, those who require constant care are left struggling. The more help they need, the more they're neglected. It seems the management turns a blind eye to this. It's quite obvious the staff is overwhelmed with work, and a handful even disregard unhealthy, dirty conditions. The food is barely edible. Despite them advertising it as top of the line, it's far from it.

"Great staff, a few improvements needed, but highly recommend!"
The staff here is very responsive to the residents, and overall, it’s been a good experience. The only thing that could be better is quicker response times from different departments. It’s not a big issue, but there’s room for improvement. Otherwise, I think it’s great and would recommend it to anyone.

"Cedar Creek Made Holiday Travel Easy with Great Respite Care!"
What a lifesaver Cedar Creek has been! I had to fly back East for the holidays, and there was no way I could leave my dad alone at home. He thinks he can handle his own medications, but it doesn't always go well. Last time I was away, he took too much medicine and had a fall. Cedar Creek offered respite services, so while I took care of my business, they took great care of my sweet but fragile dad. When I need to travel again, I know Dad will be in good hands. A grateful son.

"Found the perfect home for Mom at Cedar Creek!"
We visited several places, and Cedar Creek felt like home. The residents and staff were friendly, always smiling and welcoming. The free lunch was amazing! The servers knew everyone by name, and I heard them giving great care while taking orders. The care plan point system makes sense. I want to know what I'm paying for, and this system clearly shows the care Mom will get. She deserves the best. Mom is moving in! Madera County is lucky to have such a beautiful and well-run senior living community like Cedar Creek!

"Dismissive Director Raises Cost Concerns at Assisted Living Facility"
I visited this assisted living facility to ask about living arrangements for my Mom. The price for a studio was shocking. Their services are priced through a sort of "points" system, which I found mysterious and nontransparent. When I asked how much it would cost for my mom to get three weekly showers and help set up her meds, they quoted me a hefty each month. Considering the fee just for those minimal services, it seems too high. So, I wondered if we could bring in our trusted private aids who work for a more affordable rate. The response from the membership director wasn't exactly welcoming. The person was quite dismissive and asked me, "Why would you want to?" This rude demeanor made me second-guess who the facility truly benefits. I left saying, "Wow." I am committed to ensuring that my mom receives top-notch care. But, based on my short experience there, I wouldn't want to leave her in this place. It seemed more like they preferred making money over caring for the elderly.

"Great place with friendly staff and clean environment"
I’ve had a great experience here. They’re always fixing things, so you’ll hear some hammering now and then. Besides that, the place is clean, and the staff is friendly. Overall, we’re very happy with it.

"Very happy with their service"
I was really happy with their service. Whenever we needed something, they were always ready to help. We had a small problem with my loved one not knowing or wanting to ring the bell for help, and they fixed it right away. They did a great job.

"Amazing place, five stars for everything!"
They are amazing, I give them five stars for everything. My loved one stayed here for a while, but I had to pay extra out of my own pocket and couldn't keep doing it. They were awesome though!
