"Poor Management and Unfair Pricing Spoil Assisted Living Experience"
The care at the facility wasn't too bad, but a major goal was always to help the resident move out. The management also added a rule: the resident must have a personal caregiver to live there. However, when the resident had to leave sooner due to this rule, they still made us pay full price. This happened because they couldn't keep the resident safe.

"Caring Staff, Clean Environment, Good Food – A Nice Place"
This place is really good. The people who work there are very helpful, from the boss people to the caregivers to the folks in the dining room. It's clean and they take good care of everything. The food is tasty, which isn't always the case in these kinds of places. They have lots of things for the residents to do, too. My sister and I were searching for a place for our aunt, and this is one of the only ones in the San Fernando Valley where we can tell that our family member is being looked after well and feels comfortable. Thanks a lot for all the effort you put in.

""Staff is nice, but understaffed and terrible at returns calls.""
The staff at this assisted living facility are kind and caring, but there's too many people with not enough staff. Sometimes you need to call the staff, like the nurses, to ask about medicine. You might need to know for a doctor's visit or for the social security office.. Just simple stuff... and they say they'll get back to you. But believe me, it isn't crazy to say I've called 5 or 6 times and still have no answer. They're really, really bad at returning calls. They just say they'll call you back, but they NEVER do.

"Negligence in Staff Communication and Responsibility"
The people working here are kind and conscientious, but there just aren't enough of them to cover the number of people living there. There are many occasions when you'll need to ask a question about medication for a doctor's appointment or for the social security office... something very basic. You'll call the staff, maybe the nurses, and they promise to find out and call you back. Just to clarify, there have been 5-6 times when I've had to call them and still received no answer. Their lack of promptness in returning calls is extremely disappointing. They assure you that they'll call back, but they NEVER ever do.

"Inadequate Care and Poor Management at Assisted Living Facility"
I really wish I could provide some positive feedback about this assisted living facility. Sadly, that's not possible due to my father's experiences there. My siblings and I wanted my father to stay with us but circumstances necessitated him being placed there by the state. My father suffers from memory issues, and from our experiences, it seems like some staff members are exploiting this situation. Unfortunately, I can't detail everything that's wrong with this poorly managed facility; that would take too long. I do hope that soon those in charge take a good hard look at how things are being run. In my personal opinion, a woman named Candice should not be given the responsibility of caring for the elderly residents. From what my father shared and what I observed, she is too aggressive, which apparently creates discomfort among the residents. I would like to delve deeper into the issues but there just isn't enough time. I wish for responses from others who might be facing similar problems. It's a nightmare for my father and our family. Let me give a word of caution: monitor their incoming mail and bank account activities very closely, please.

"Beware: Assisted Living Facility Not Living Up to Standards"
Unfortunately, I struggle to say anything positive about this assisted living facility. My father, whose memory is not as strong as it used to be, and our family, who wanted dad to live with us, had him placed here by the state. My daughter and I witnessed how the staff take advantage of residents like him. I won't list all the issues we found with this poorly run facility, but I sincerely hope management takes a hard look at their operations. One person, in particular shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the seniors. My dad mentioned his discomfort around her multiple times, indicating that she is forceful and often makes the residents uneasy. I wish I could provide more details for clarity, but for now, would love to hear from others who might have had similar experiences. All I can say is, be extra vigilant with your loved ones' mail and bank accounts if they live here. Please, stay alert.

"Persistent poor hygiene and unresponsive management at Assisted Living"
The cleanliness in this assisted living facility is questionable. It always smells, sometimes worse than others, but there's no escaping the constant scent of urine. The carpets should have been replaced two years ago. The staff is amazing though, putting their all into their work and genuinely caring for the patients. The issue lies with the management. The facility is understaffed, and getting hold of someone in charge is like finding a needle in a haystack. You'd have to call at least 10 times before talking to someone. Even though the receptionists take messages, there's no follow up. I once urgently needed information from a nurse and the manager to get to the hospital. Yet, it took me days of calling, leaving voicemails, and being on hold to finally reach a person. Another family suggested visiting in person whenever they need something, but with the distance I live from the facility, it's not a practical solution for me.

"Sub-par management and facility; Excellent staff; Perpetual foul smell"
This place tries to maintain cleanliness, but it constantly reeks. At its best, it still smells like stale urine. The carpets have been in dire need of replacement for the past two years. The care staff are undoubtedly hardworking, compassionate, and pleasant. However, the management is the real issue. They're perpetually short-staffed, and getting a response from them can feel like mission impossible. Reaching out through phone calls hardly yields results as despite receptionists taking messages, nobody ever returns the calls. Desperately needing information from a nurse and manager for hospital-related issues, I had to endure days filled with endless phone calls, messages, and being on hold before I received any response. Other families have found success by going in-person, but this simply isn't feasible for me for every little need due to distance.

"Staff Work Hard, but Understaffed at Cedars Assisted Living"
We had a so-so time at Cedars Assisted Living. The workers are all very hardworking, and I think they really try to take care of the people who live there. But, there aren't enough of them. They do their best, but there just aren't enough staff to give the care needed.

"Dedicated Staff, but Not Enough of Them"
Our time at Cedars Assisted Living has been a bit of a mixed bag. Everyone who works here is really dedicated and tries their hardest to take care of the people living here. But, the place needs more workers. No matter how hard they work, there just aren't enough of them to give the care needed.

"Peace of Mind at Cedars"
Cedars is a fantastic place for older folks. They say, “NO ONE is old, just older!” The staff is super kind, respectful, and careful. The place is very clean and nicely decorated. There are lots of areas to spend time with your family and many daily activities for your loved one. I feel totally safe leaving my loved one here.

"Mixed Feelings About Cedars Assisted Living"
Cedars was a neat place. Estafania explained how to get help. The building felt chilly. She mentioned they were renovating it. But for my mom, it didn't seem like the right fit. Estafania said Medi-Cal could take four to five months to process, but she gave me a number to call for faster assistance. We could move Mom in and pay the difference until she got approved.

"Cedars: Good Staff and Cleanliness, But Lacks Warm Atmosphere"
Cedars was tidy, and Estafania was helpful with information on how to get assistance. The space felt a bit chilly. There was mention of a renovation currently underway. I didn't think it was the best place for mom. Estafania mentioned that getting Medii cal settled can take four to five months, but she gave me a contact number that might speed up the process. She suggested that mom could move in and we'd cover the extra cost until the approval came through.

We didn't like that place much. I wasn't impressed. The person who showed us around wasn't very friendly, and I didn't feel like the residents were all that happy there. At other places we visited, the residents were interacting and being social, but it felt a bit standoffish here.

"Nice, Big Rooms but Terrible Food"
Everything's fine except my sister complains about the food. They use a lot of gravy, and there have been other complaints too. They had a meeting to discuss food issues and wait staff problems. Once, there was a kitchen problem, and they had to bring in food. My sister got just two chicken wings that night, not very filling. But overall, she's happy there. The rooms are really nice and spacious. She chose this place because of the room size. We had lunch at all the places we visited, and while this place had the worst food, it had the largest rooms.
