"Friendly Staff and Great Communication"
I really like how friendly and accessible the staff are through text messages. That's awesome! Overall, my experience has been positive, especially because of excellent communication.

"Small, Caring Assisted Living Facility Ensures Mom's Well-being"
I think they really care about my mom. It's not a big place and there aren't many people in each part. They keep me updated if I can't visit for a few days. The residents gather in the living room until they can go to activities in the "town square." The food is good but sometimes it's cold. I've asked the aides to warm up my mom's food in the microwave before giving it to her, and that usually solves the problem. Overall, I really appreciate the aides and med-techs.

"Unfit Staff and Poor Conditions at Memory Care Unit"
Terrible Experience The response time in the memory care unit is way too slow when people try to escape through the windows. There's a constant smell of urine and soiled diapers. When the staff can't control the residents, they resort to calling the police. The staff lacks training in memory care and don't seem to know how to look after patients with memory loss.

"Good care, needs better food"
I've talked to several people about the food at the memory care residence. It's always warm to cold, and I'm constantly asking for it to be warmed up. My mom complains about the lack of seasoning. The aides get the complaints even though it's not their fault. The new admin made changes that drove many good workers away, which is hard for my mom. The remaining aides are wonderful. I love the nurses; they've done great despite the head nurse being on medical leave. The activities director, Lucia, is great with my mom and other residents. Overall, things are good. Mom has made some friends, and I like talking to other residents. I like Westmont and hope the new admin improves things.

"Mixed Experience During Transition, Ultimately Positive Outcome"
When we moved my mom into Westmont of Fresno, they were going through changes in their staff. Some things they were working on, like medicine and laundry, stopped for a bit. Even though the staff tried to help, it was really stressful figuring out who to talk to and who was in charge. After two months, things got better. The cleaning and the building are great, but laundry care was sometimes good and sometimes not. Because of dementia, my mom decided to do her own laundry because any change in her routine can make her very nervous. The staff has been really kind and patient with my mom during these times. Moving her into her room was easy and went smoothly. They gave us the name of a moving company that knows the place, and that was helpful. Talking with my family is getting better, but at first, it wasn't very good because they didn't have enough staff. There was also a problem between the place and my mom's health provider. I had to go to the office because they didn't answer the provider's health questions, and the provider said they couldn't help anymore. We got that fixed, and it's working now. I also have the phone numbers of the people who run the place and the nurses if we need more help. My mom loves the food and has liked every meal. We've eaten with her a few times, and it's always yummy. I would tell people to go to Westmont of Fresno. I think some things, like talking, could be simpler, but it's been a really nice place for our mom

"Poor care and inappropriate meals at assisted living center."
I felt really let down by my mom's care at the center. She fell more than once, and each time, she was left alone in her room for about an hour. The only times they showed up was to give her medications, never to simply see how she was doing. Once, when I was visiting during dinner, they only served her corn in her meal tray - all three sections were filled with corn. My mom, who can't eat corn, was left hungry. Despite needing a walker, she was totally sound mentally.

"Assisted Living Falls Short"
Here are some ways to make this assisted living facility better: improve the food and pay more attention to patients. Right now, the staff doesn't notice patients who are in pain, and they leave patients sitting in urine-soaked wheelchairs and beds. The rooms also need better cleaning. Considering the high charges, I wouldn't recommend this place to others.

"Dreadful Care and Response Times at Westmont Assisted Living"
Our time at Westmont was really bad. They just can't seem to keep their staff members and are always hiring new people. The care that was given wasn't just poor, it was scary. They've made too many mistakes with medicine and taking way too long to answer emergency calls. It took them over 3 hours twice to respond and about 50 minutes typically. We've even had to call an Ombudsman about this. Their food service was really good, but there was barely any fun stuff to do there because they didn't have enough staff. I really wouldn't want another family member to go through this. Westmont is a place I wouldn't suggest.

"Mixed Feelings About Large Assisted Living Facility"
I visited this place, and it seemed alright. It's quite large, and I wasn't crazy about how it's arranged, but that's just what I like. We were looking for something cozy and small. The cost was on the high side. If you like big places, it might work for you.

"Assisted Living Concerns: Insufficient Care and Meal Quality at Westmont"
I don't think Westmont of Fresno is the best choice for your loved ones. The care my family member gets there isn't good enough. They've fallen several times, and sometimes they've had to wait almost an hour for someone to help them up to bed. The food they serve isn't great either. They once gave my family member chicken salad without any dressing. Sometimes, all they get for dinner is vegetables, without any main dish or starch.

"Management change worsened care at assisted living facility"
At first, things were okay, but when the management changed, everything got worse. The coronavirus rules made it so people had to stay in their rooms and they stopped having activities. We believe our family member's care was pushed aside and she wasn't given her necessary meds.

"Excellent Care and Family-like Atmosphere at Westmont Assisted Living"
My mom has been living at Westmont for almost 3 years and she really enjoys it! She stays in memory care and the staff all adore her; she considers them her family! If we ever have a concern, we call and they handle it quickly, most of the time! Our family is pleased with how well they care for our mom!

"Assisted Living Gets Four Stars!"
The assisted living here is pretty good, maybe four out of five stars. We had to call them a few times to make sure they kept their promises. The community is clean, and the rooms are decently sized, with a fair value compared to other places.

"Grateful for Cottonwood Caregivers"
Our mom has been at Cottonwood Memory Care for four months now. She lived in her home for 68 years, so this was a really hard move for her and for us. We toured the facility before deciding, and we were impressed with how clean it was, inside and out, and how nice it smelled. The staff was so friendly. They supported us with reassurance, encouragement, and even hugs during the hard adjustment period. It can take weeks or even months for residents to adjust, but the staff never gave up on our mom. We are so grateful for the caregivers who meet her needs every day, and we pray for blessings on them all.

"Wonderful Place for Independent Living"
My Dad has been living at Cottonwood. Before moving in, he was living alone and had fallen several times. He loves his new apartment, the staff, and especially the food. He hasn’t eaten this well since my mom passed away 7 years ago. The staff is professional, friendly, and always smiling. They take the time to say “Hello.” They are competent and always willing to discuss any issues my Dad may have. The nursing staff gives him his medication, so I no longer worry about him taking the correct dosage at the right times. My dad was lucky because he had a friend already living at Cottonwood, so he wanted to live there too. They live right down the hallway from each other and eat their meals together. I no longer worry every day about my Dad. I know he’s getting the best care. There are lots of activities for the residents if they choose to participate. This is a great place for your loved one to live and still be independent.

"Wonderful new home with caring staff and great amenities"
Mom enjoyed living independently until she broke her hip in July. She had also been having more trouble with short-term memory. After a month of rehab and turning 90, we moved her into an assisted living apartment at Cotton Wood Court. The place is great with excellent food, activities, and caring staff. It took Mom a few weeks to adjust because of her surgery effects on her memory and emotions. However, with the patience and care from the staff, Mom and our family now really like her new home.

"Cottonwood Court: Truly Treats Residents Like Family!"
We looked at many places for my mother and father-in-law. When we visited Cottonwood Court, we knew it was the right choice. My mother-in-law had a stroke, and Cottonwood was one of the few places that allowed her wheelchair to fit under the sink, so she could stay independent. Cottonwood doesn't just offer a home and care; they really treat their residents like family!
