"A Decent Visit"
We visited Douglas Residential Care, and it felt fine. Nothing stood out negatively, but we preferred another place. .

"Clean, Friendly Assisted Living with Pricey Rates"
One of the caregivers I met spoke excellent English. The house was tidy, and the staff was friendly. The den area for watching TV was spacious and inviting. Unfortunately, the rates were higher than I anticipated, and the shared bedroom was small.

"Great New Owner"
I was really surprised by this place. It’s super clean and doesn’t smell like other homes for the elderly I’ve visited. The caregivers are very friendly, and the new owner is really accommodating. Honestly, I was hesitant to visit because of the old reviews, but the new owner is great. The price is very reasonable. I will definitely consider this place.

"Potential Haven with a Little More Effort and Maintenance"
I visited the place yesterday and felt let down. The care facility doesn't look well maintained. It needs a fresh coat of paint both inside and out, along with new furniture everywhere. I met the new owner and surprisingly, I really liked her. The place was quite tidy and didn't smell when you walked in. I think if they made these changes, I'd think about letting my Dad stay there. Plus, their pricing seems pretty fair.

"Abysmal Care at Assisted Living Facility, Investigate Thoroughly"
If your loved one can take care of themselves, this place is passable. But when they start to need more help, this place is downright awful. The owner, who also runs things, can't seem to hang on to good staff members. He's unpleasant and talks down to others. He insists that he knows how to look after older folks, but falls short when it comes to actually showing it. He proved that himself when he couldn't even demonstrate how to change a diaper properly. So please, investigate this guy thoroughly before trusting him with your loved ones. Because once they're unable to fend for themselves, the level of care here drops to near zero. Never saw that supposed registered nurse administrator he boasts about. He's all talk. Be aware and steer clear. This is not a place you'd want for your loved ones.

"Agonizing experience; inept staff and zero care."
If your family member can manage on their own, this place is comfortable, but once they need extra help, it becomes a nightmare. The owner/administrator is not only incapable of maintaining competent staff, but he's also rude and condescending. He claims to have knowledge in elder care, but he doesn't even know how to change a simple diaper. Despite stating he knows what to do, his actions speak otherwise. Make sure you do your research on this man before allowing him to care for your loved one because the moment they can't look after themselves, his nonexistent care becomes all too apparent. Furthermore, the registered nurse who's supposedly the administrator was never seen, just a lot of sweet talk. Beware—this isn't a place where you'd want your loved ones to end up.

"Proceed With Caution: Assisted Living Facility Overcharges and Overmedicates"
Service was acceptable, but the facility wouldn't refund half my mom's estate, much like a sketchy used car dealer. They'll bill you for every small thing. My mom was given too many sedatives. Be sure to closely read the contract. They'll flood you with paperwork to complete - seriously, loads of it. Pay attention to the fine print. Despite all that, I had to secure medications and essential supplies like diapers and wipes, while being bombarded by daily phone calls seeking instructions. Don't sign anything until you're overwhelmed with comprehension. I learned that the hard way. Reputable Christian nursing homes wouldn't resort to these tactics. With early discharge, we ended up losing nearly $1,250 for half a month's rent and other ridiculous charges. We paid for services she didn't use. That's all there is to say. Best of luck to you. You're going to need it – especially because I'm in the process of filing additional complaints with the nursing home's review board.

"Great care for my husband"
My husband is there, but because of his condition, he doesn’t join the activities. The staff does as much as they can for him. I appreciate the care they provide. It’s a smaller place, so he gets more personal attention than anywhere else. The staff is very kind and truly dedicated to their patients. Overall, they’ve taken great care of my husband. He’s been in six or seven other places before, and there were always problems with him being too aggressive. Since he’s been here in August, they haven’t had any issues with that.

""Cramped facility, unclear prices, can't house both parents""
This location is too small and lacks central cooling. The boss wasn't certain about costs. Both my parents couldn't stay there'.
