"Assisted Living Facility A Nightmare Experience for Elderly Woman"
My grandma spent over a month in this facility and it was just terrible for everyone involved! Whenever we visited, we felt like we were intruding. The place itself was no cozy home and what made it worse is that they limited our conversations with Grandma. The so-called "hairdresser" they brag about is just the caretaker's young daughter who painted my grandma's fingernails in alternating blue and yellow - not fitting for an elderly lady at all! Throughout my weekly visits during those 5 weeks, the only activity I ever saw were folks sitting quietly watching TV. This facility pressured my poor grandma into signing herself in with their pushy sales methods, made it difficult for her to leave, and isolated her from the family. After I gave this place a negative review, they worsened the situation by limiting our interactions with Grandma even more, then entirely removed her from their care.

"Heartbreak over Mom's Dismal Experience at "Elite Elder Care""
Elite Elder Care" isn't as fancy as it sounds. During her first day there, my 82-year-old mom actually tried to run away and got lost in the rain. It's pretty awful to see your mom, who you used to love and care for, stuck in a place like this by a relative who doesn't seem to care. It's even worse to see her health, both mental and physical, get worse because of it. Mom told me she can't sleep anymore because other residents with Alzheimer’s keep her up with their screams. She feels the need to go and try to soothe them. Her doc asked the owner to come and check on a health problem she has, but the owner didn't even bother. Every time I try to call, nobody picks up. When I visit, her room is so small and only has her tiny bed, a chair, and a porta-potty. She stopped sleeping well and often wakes us up with confused calls late at night. The staff members won't do anything to limit her phone usage. I even tried to share a homemade cake with her, but the people there wouldn't let me. They told me it was because "All food must come from the store to be safe." Despite their promise to be pet-friendly, they wouldn't let my mom bring any of her small dogs, cats, or birds. I guess if you're ok with your loved ones living with a bunch of confused elderly people who can't live at home, this place might be for you!

"Subpar Care and Poor Communication at "Elite Elder Care""
Elite Elder Care" isn't as high-quality as its name suggests. My 82-year-old mom tried to run away on her first day there and was later found wandering in the rain. It's absolutely crushing to witness your loved one suddenly placed in a place like this by a thoughtless family member, leading to mental and physical decline. My mom tells me she's been having trouble sleeping because the cries of those with Alzheimer's wake her up. She then struggles to get up from her bed to comfort them. Despite the doctor's request for a house visit to monitor her health condition, the owner of the facility didn't arrange it. It's also frustrating that they often don't pick up when I try to call. Visiting there isn't pleasant either because of the tight space in my mom's room, which only fits a small bed, a chair, and a portable toilet. Even though they advertise as pet-friendly, my mom wasn't allowed to bring any of her pets, which are small birds, dogs, and a cat.
