"Mixed Feelings About Sierra Vista Assisted Living"
Sierra Vista seemed more like a hospital than a senior living place to us. It felt very clean and quiet when we visited on a Saturday, but there weren't many residents around and not much was happening. One thing we did appreciate was the cabanas with yards; those were a nice touch. Since it's a smaller facility, there are fewer residents and fewer activities available. The staff were all really nice and friendly, which we liked, but overall, it wasn't exactly what we were hoping to find.

"Mixed feelings about Eskaton Fountain Wood Lodge"
We checked out lots of places but picked Eskaton Fountain Wood Lodge because they have private rooms and it feels cozy. You can really make your room yours—they'll even paint one wall for you. They offer three room sizes depending on what you can pay. Ours is the smallest, but it's just right, like a small master bedroom. Before COVID, my dad ate here and thought the food was pretty good—big portions and fresher. But they're not great at getting back to you on the phone or email. We've had some problems with that since my mom moved in. Overall, I'd say it's okay.

"Mixed Feelings at Assisted Living: Staff and Management Concerns"
This place is a bit of a mix. Dad's happy, so I'd say 4 stars for him. But Mom doesn't like it and would only give 2 stars. She might not be happy anywhere but home, though. There are some issues early on. Staff can be slow to respond, especially during meals. They don't seem to have enough staff, and some aren't trained well. They also move people around between wings a lot, which can be confusing. It feels like they're not coordinated sometimes. I think they have some good staff, but overall, it's not managed well. We'll see how it goes in a few months.

"Early Mixed Impressions of Assisted Living Facility"
The experience so far at the care home has been varied. My Dad seems content; I'd likely rate it four stars based on his satisfaction. My Mom, on the other hand, doesn't seem to appreciate it at all; if going by her experience, I'd give it only two stars. It's possible, though, that she wouldn't feel at home anywhere but her house. There are initial issues that worry me. The staff can be slow to respond, particularly when my parents want to go back to their rooms after meals or need help during meal times. It feels like there aren't enough people working at these times. The ability of the staff is also inconsistent. While many are excellent, some of the newer employees lack proper training. It's also concerning how often residents are moved around different wings instead of having consistent caretakers. It often feels like their operation isn't well-coordinated. But my instinct right now tells me that there are many good caregivers, though the overall management leaves something to be desired. However, my opinion could change in a few months, for the better or worse.

"Vibrant Atmosphere!"
I really liked my tour of this community. There was so much positive energy everywhere, and the residents seemed happy. The building is beautiful, and the outside scenery is great for the residents to enjoy.

"Assisted Living Impresses with Responsive Staff"
I live in New York, not California. When we toured the assisted living facility with Mom, I liked what I saw. It seems to be just as they advertised—very nice, with plenty of well-trained and responsive staff. I'll share more after visiting my mother now that she lives there.

"Mom's New Home Is As Advertised"
I live in New York, not California. When we toured with Mom, I liked what I saw. From what I hear, it's just as they said it would be. Lots of staff who seem to know what they're doing and are quick to help. I'll know more once I visit Mom in her new place.

"Not Your Typical “Old Folks Home”"
We’ve had a really great time at this place. I really like it here; everyone is super positive and kind. They take great care of her. The place looks awesome and is always clean. The staff is wonderful and easy to work with. She stays busy with all the activities they have. The food is good, and she likes the meals and dining area. This isn’t an “old folks home.” This place has a positive vibe, and I would recommend it.

"Not a Good Place for Parents: Lack of Care and Supervision"
Never ever let your mom or dad stay here! They moved my mom/dad after a home nurse looked her/him over. We took her/him back home after just 4 days. In fact, the ER doc told us not to return. They left her/him all by herself/himself, even knowing what she's/he's like.

"Warning: Avoid This Unsafe Assisted Living Facility!"
Don't ever let your folks stay here! They put my parent in here following a home nurse's visit. But we had to take them home after only 4 days. In fact, even the ER doctor advised against returning. My mom or dad was left by themselves, despite them knowing her condition.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Experience"
I'm trying to stay positive, but I'm unsure yet. I've discussed some concerns, and I'm waiting to see how they handle them. If they address them, I'll be satisfied. There are activities available, although she hasn't participated in any yet. So far, I like the staff who are in charge. Overall, I do like the place, but I'm not entirely pleased with the caregivers at this point. Considering the cost, I expected more. I've spoken with them about my concerns, and I'm waiting to see what happens.

"Uncertain About Caregivers"
I'm trying to stay positive, but I'm not sure yet. I've shared some worries with them, and I'm waiting to see how they handle it. If they address my concerns, I'll be happy. They offer activities, although she hasn't joined any yet. Still, they're available. So far, I like the staff. I do like the place overall, but I'm not completely satisfied with the caregivers. Considering what I'm paying, I expected more. I've discussed this with them, and we'll wait and see.

"Nice but pricey Eskaton assisted living; worth it?"
This place was really nice, but it cost too much money. It seems like most Eskaton places are expensive.
