"Assisted Living Facility Review"
During COVID, it's been tough, but we've had a good time. The place seems pretty clean. It's not cheap, but it seems worth it. There aren't many activities because of COVID.

"Mixed Feelings: Convenient Yet Pricey Assisted Living"
This place is super convenient, close to our house. The room feels like a big dorm with a lovely patio. Residents seem to enjoy the food. You can bring your own furniture (since it's not furnished), and they do laundry weekly, but room cleaning happens every two weeks. The facility is smaller and older, and the memory care section is quite depressing. Also, beware—the prices are $700 more than advertised. Yikes!

"Mom liked the place and is seriously considering it."
I took a quick tour with late in the day and saw a large one-bedroom with a nice kitchen and vaulted ceiling that Mom liked. The food and facilities were great, and we want to see more. On 1/11/17, we saw one and two-bedroom cottages and a two-bedroom apartment. The two-bedroom cottage was $110K, and I didn’t catch the price for the one-bedroom. Both the living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms were nice. I liked the one-bedroom cottage. All cottages come with a garage included in the fee. The two-bedroom apartment was octagonal, spacious, but had a smaller kitchen. Monthly rent goes up yearly, averaging 3.6%. You can resell the buy-in membership, or go month-to-month for about $1K more. Cottages are great but offer more independence and are farther from dining and other rooms. Update 1/22/18: We saw two-bedroom apartments and a two-bedroom cottage. Mom liked everything and was impressed with the community. So far, it’s her favorite, and she’s most interested in it. Since the two-bedroom apartments are large, she might choose one of those instead of a cottage. She enjoyed the salad and dessert bar at lunch but thought the buffet had too few options and wasn’t interested in any. She doesn’t eat pork, which was the only meat option today. She liked the two soups available and the option to eat in the Bistro if she missed regular meal times. She also asked about properties with HUD subsidies for lower-income people for her brother.
