"Great place with attentive staff and enjoyable activities for residents"
My father lived at Evergreen for almost two years. When he got diagnosed with dementia, we had to move him to a place that offered more care. He had one of the few available one-bedroom apartments. The staff and caregivers were very attentive and there were lots of activities for the residents to enjoy. My father was very happy with the meals and really liked the caregivers who helped him with bathing. Overall, Evergreen was a great place for him.

"Old-Looking Facility"
The facility seemed nice during my tour, but it appeared quite old, which we didn't really like.

"Great staff, good food, and fun activities highly recommended."
The staff are really kind and look after the residents well. My friend enjoys the food, and there are lots of different options. They have activities every day, and the place is kept nice and clean. The location is great, and I would definitely recommend it.

"“Thriving Activities, Room for Improvement”"
The Evergreen Retirement Residence has been awesome for my dad. He loves bingo night and the exercise programs. The meals are great, even though he’s usually picky. And he enjoys the open space for riding his scooter. The facility’s appearance could be better, though. I wish they’d communicate with me more.

""One Day Stay: Often Clean, Always Disappointing""
My bro was only there for a day and we quickly realized it wasn't going to work. He needed to sit up often but they only had a basic, flat bed for him. They didn't even have the ability to help him get from his bed to his wheelchair. It's like they didn't even consider his needs or if the place would be suitable for him. Though the place looks pretty clean and nice, it definitely didn't offer the care we expected.

"Couldn't Recommend this Old, Unimpressive Assisted Living Facility"
This place really wasn't that great. The building is old and kind of falling apart and it really looks out of date. It's also in a bad spot, right beside a highway overpass and hidden behind big buildings. They showed us a really bad room too. I guess the people living there seemed alright, but I wouldn't want anyone I care about living here.

"Friendly staff and good tour, but noisy location"
The people here are friendly, and the staff really cares. It’s a family-owned place, which is nice. However, it’s a bit far from me, and some rooms face a busy street and the 134 freeway, so it’s a bit noisy and urban for my mom’s comfort. The tour guide did a great job and was very nice.

"Very attentive and nice staff, excellent communication"
I visit Evergreen Retirement Residence often to see my father-in-law, and they do a fantastic job. Whenever he seems a bit confused, they always call us right away. Their communication is great, and they keep us well-informed. I think they are really nice and very attentive. The nurses and staff pay great attention to everyone. Overall, they are very, very nice and do an excellent job.

"Mom Thrived There for Years with Great Care and Activities"
My mom was really happy there for years! What I liked was how clean it was and how friendly and welcoming the staff were. She had her own room, and they made the bed every day and did her laundry. There were plenty of activities for her, like bingo, exercise classes, and trips to the 99 Cent Store or Target a couple of times a week. They even had movie nights and other fun events. When she started having Alzheimer's, we needed to find a place that could handle that.

"Great Location, Friendly Staff, and a Warm Atmosphere"
We picked this place because it’s in a good spot, the price is right, and the staff is great. At first, he had a tough time adjusting, but he’s starting to like it more now. He often joins them on trips to Target or the museum. The staff is really good, and most of the residents are super friendly. It just feels really nice when you walk in.

"Great care with minor cold issue."
My mother-in-law doesn't join in the activities, but they have many. The staff is fantastic and keeps us updated even though we live far away. Both my husband and I feel fortunate. The only issue is that my mother-in-law feels very cold, and they can't use an electric heater in her room due to code regulations. There is no thermostat for her to adjust the temperature either, so she can't stay warm.

"Great place if you get a bigger suite; dogs allowed."
This place is the best if you can get a bigger suite. They allow dogs, which is awesome. The Director is fantastic. It's also near fancy shopping and restaurants.

"Director Is Great, But Facility Lacks Key Comforts and Safety"
I enjoyed meeting the director and appreciate that this is a locally owned, family business. The community is conveniently located in our beloved Toluca Lake neighborhood. But, I have to choose the best fit for my mom. Their rooms are the tiniest I've seen, and yet they charge the most. Mom won't appreciate the low-quality wardrobes; she needs built-in closets. Also, their bathtubs all lack safety cut outs. Though I was promised that they could add a cut out, I can't trust my mom's safety to folks who don't already prioritize it. Seniors falling is a high risk, so it's a vital consideration. I feel bad for the director because I really hoped this would be the right place, but it's not. Thanks so much for your time and help!
