"More Vegetarian Options Needed, Overall Positive Experience"
Our experience has been really good up to now. The staff communicates easily with our family, and they listen to our questions. There are different choices for the residents to pick from. However, there aren't enough vegetarian options. It would be nice to see this get better.

"Spacious and Bright with Great Meals and Experience"
We love the spaciousness inside and outside the community. The kitchen is bright with lots of windows, which makes it feel cheerful. Our loved one enjoys most of the meals, and we’ve had a great experience so far.

We were bummed out by our experience right from the beginning. The person who was supposed to show us around never came and didn't even bother to give us a heads up.

"Fallbrook Glen: A Top-Notch Assisted Living Experience!"
I moved to Fallbrook Glen on December 2, 2020, from another nearby assisted living place that wasn't as good. Fallbrook Glen is way better! The food is delicious, the staff is caring, and there's a beautiful garden. The other residents are friendly, and there are fun activities and cool movies at night. Sometimes the wait staff can be slow, and the menu isn't always great. I wish communication was better, but that's just a small annoyance. My room is big and quiet, but it does cost a bit more. They handled COVID well, and we're COVID-free. Overall, I'd give Fallbrook Glen Assisted Living a high rating.

"Poor Care and Understaffing at Assisted Living Facility"
My brother stayed here for four long years under two different managers. He had to move out because he wasn't getting enough care. Sure, some staff members are kind and helpful, but there are just not enough of them. As a result, the people living here don't get the help they need. Since my brother left last year, the managers have changed again. I hope this new team is better. The previous team cared more about making money than looking after residents. They hardly ever answered our questions or listened to our requests. Thankfully, my brother is now in a much better place and his health has greatly improved. I would certainly not suggest this place to anyone who needs support and caring relationships.

"Assisted Living Review Summary"
We had to take my mom back home after just a few months. The place doesn’t have enough staff for her needs. The caregivers were nice, but they were too busy to notice things. For example, my mom ran out of towels, and no one noticed. I washed my hands, but there was nothing to dry them with. Another time, she ran out of soap, and they hadn’t checked the medicine cabinet. Her toilet seat was dirty for days. She fell a few times because the caregivers didn’t come quickly. Sometimes it took them half an hour to answer the call button. They also had trouble with her oxygen tanks. The laundry staff lost her clothes, and I found someone else’s bath mat in her room. I hope they fix these problems.

"Great Care, Some Issues with Staffing and Oxygen Management"
Overall, they do a good job taking care of my mother. My frustration is with how long it took them to figure out her oxygen. I visited a couple of times and found both her portable tanks empty, so she couldn't leave her room. They also still have problems changing her hearing aid batteries. They seem to be short-staffed on caregivers (it can take a long time to answer the call button), but 99% of the caregivers are wonderful with her. They are very good about keeping me informed when they have a concern. Mother doesn't always like the food, but she complained about everything I cooked, too. Other residents seem happy and well-cared for. The outside garden area is lovely.

"Fallbrook Glen: Declining Care Quality Sparks Search for New Home"
My brother's been at Fallbrook Glen for three years. Recently, they got new management and reduced staff. The care quality has declined. Caregivers are impatient with residents, and management ignores family calls. We're searching for a new home for my brother.

"Meridian of West Hills Review"
I really like Meridian of West Hills. It's quiet and the people are nice. It's an older place, but that's okay with me. I just want a nice place with good people who do what they say they will. I do wish they had coffee available all day. But besides that, I'm very happy and would tell others about it.

"Quick walkthrough left me unimpressed"
I dropped by at their open house and wasn't wowed. As soon as I stepped into the lobby, I saw the residents just sitting around which was a bit sad. Because of that, I left immediately. I didn't think this place would be a match for my loved one.

"Nice Community with Professional Staff, Not Perfect Fit for Dad"
I toured this community for my loved one and overall, it was a decent experience. The staff were really professional and took the time to answer all my questions in detail. The place looked nice and clean to me. They had a good activity program and other amenities for the residents. However, in the end, we decided it wasn't the best fit for my father.

"Family-friendly Assisted Living Falls Short for Comfortable Atmosphere"
This place is really big, bigger than we expected. It was clean, but it felt too overwhelming for my mom. We were hoping for a more cozy, family-like environment, but couldn't find that here. The tour was good though, and the staff was friendly. Families should definitely check it out if they're looking for care for a loved one.

"Ignore Negative Comments: Visit and See for Yourself"
The number of people with Alzheimer's and Dementia is growing rapidly. These diseases are harsh and unkind, leaving families searching for support. It feels like a "long Goodbye." After moving to the Valley six months ago to be near family and find help for my husband's worsening Alzheimer's, we discovered Meridian. It was time for him to join a residential setting with a strong Memory Care program. My husband has been in the program for four months. He has adjusted well, thanks to the entire staff, caring aides, a fantastic activities director, a dedicated chef and his team, and doctors who visit monthly. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. There are outings, activities, movies, and special events for residents and their families on holidays. Before believing any negative comments, visit and see for yourself. Take a tour, meet the staff, have lunch made by the chef, and explore the grounds. Ask questions and form your own opinion. I visit as often as possible. Meridian is right across from Fallbrook Mall, so I can take my husband out for meals or shopping at Walmart and other places within walking distance.

"So Glad My Mom Is Happy Here"
My mom has lived here since November 2016 and she loves it. The staff is super nice, the food is tasty, and there are lots of activities if she wants to join in. The team has really gone out of their way to make sure my mom has a great time. [Removed], the Director, and [Removed] from the business office are both wonderful. I feel totally at ease knowing my mom is well taken care of!

"Invested on Looks, Neglected Quality Caregiver Hiring"
The staff at this assisted living facility lacks experience in caring for the elderly. It appears like their budget is being allotted more towards making the facility look nicer rather than hiring capable, dedicated caregivers. Instances have been reported where caregivers were discovered sleeping during their early morning shifts. Termination due to inadequate care provision also question their prior screening methods before hiring.

"Don't Trust This Money-Hungry, Disrespectful Assisted Living Facility"
I don't understand how anyone can praise this place. The meals they provide are worse than dog food... one occupant told me... I'm not fussy, I'll eat anything, but this food tastes terrible. I only eat it because there are no other alternatives. When I heard this, I was outraged. They should get better treatment considering what they pay... I'm glad this resident told me, so I didn't mistakenly move my father here. When they rent rooms, they seem very kind and make big promises... but in the end, they're just after your money. They could care less about the occupants. It's all about the dollar. The care coordinator is unethical. She doesn't care about the residents. If a resident tries to discuss a problem with her, she claims she's busy or just texts while they're talking, which is rude. I could say so much more. But it's your choice whether to send your loved ones here... they deserve a peaceful place to live out their final days.

"Best Value with Great Staff and Peace of Mind"
We checked out many places for my mom, and this one was the best value. It's a great place with friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, and a nice location. They also have clear prices with no hidden fees. I love my mom so much, and she took care of me. Now it’s my turn, and with Meridian of West Hills, I can do it with peace of mind. Thanks, Meridian! Love you all!

"Mediocre Assisted Living: Cleanliness and Food Issues Noted"
Sure, they were able to assist us. However, the meals they serve aren't appetizing and some items were missing [redacted]. Cleanliness, unfortunately, isn't up to par. We did encounter a few problems, but overall, I was okay with the facility. My mom has lost weight because she finds the food unpalatable.

"Fantastic facility with excellent care and great food!"
The manager was excellent. She walked us through the whole program and was an outstanding director. She explained everything clearly and made accommodations for my mother when she requested them. They were more accommodating than I could have hoped for. It was phenomenal. I am very, very happy. My loved one has had a complete turnaround since arriving at Meridian, and we are thrilled. It's a great community with great food.

"Warm and Welcoming: Meridian of West Hills Review"
The folks at Meridian of West Hills are super nice. They take great care of the residents. Even the office staff is good. But, I think they need more people working. Especially in the memory care part. That's my main suggestion. Overall, they're mostly doing fine.

"They genuinely care and pay close attention to residents."
My mom has severe dementia, but she seems happy at Meridian whenever I visit. I live just 5 minutes away and drop by often at different times and on different days. Even though she still thinks she’s in Redondo Beach, she is happy. I was really impressed when a nurse in the memory care wing asked if it was okay to move Mom into her best friend's room, whom she had met there. The nurse said that my mom has a lot of anxiety and her friend is somewhat vague, but they comfort each other. I thought this was a great idea if Mom was okay with it. They really pay attention and care, which is wonderful.

"Great place to make friends, enjoy activities, and get help"
My husband had 4 surgeries recently, so we went from the hospital to a nursing home and back to the hospital. When we were told he needed 24/7 care, my son suggested we check out assisted living. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and supported. The staff went above and beyond, and they provided almost everything we needed. Thanks to their help, my husband went from using a wheelchair to walking with a walker in a short time. He doesn’t need constant care anymore and enjoys the games, movies, entertainment, and the friendly staff who support him. This place is fantastic for meeting new people and getting great care. Most residents agree that it’s a wonderful place to make friends, play games, watch entertainment, and get any help needed. I hope you’ll feel the same way we do.

"Decent facility but lacking in some crucial accommodations and communication."
This place is pretty good. The building always looks clean and nice, and the people who work here are nice and helpful. But there are some problems. They're doing their best, but they might not have all the help my family member needs. She can't move on her own, and it's hard for her because they don't have showers she can use in her wheelchair. Also, they didn't tell us clearly about some extra services we could get. And it takes a long time to get her hair done because there aren't enough salon staff.
