"“Helpful Staff at Genesis Manor”"
The family who owns Genesis Manor are healthcare workers, and they’re really helpful and involved. They work hard to meet your needs and requests. However, when it comes to activities, there aren’t many options besides watching TV and going for short walks if you ask. Still, I’d recommend Genesis Manor—I’ve had two family members here!

"Disappointing Assisted Living Facility with Smelly Interior and Hazards"
I visited this place, and I wasn't impressed. They answered my questions, but it smelled really bad inside. The building looked old and needs some fixing up. I saw someone bringing in microwave meals for the residents, maybe it was for someone special. Also, the back porch seemed dangerous.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Caring Staff, Oversight Lapse Concerns Family"
Inside, the place was nice, but outside, it needed some attention. The staff was really friendly, which I appreciated, but my mom isn't there anymore. I had told them how important it was to keep an eye on her at night, especially when she got out of bed. I gave them baby monitors so they could hear her, and I even saw one in her room, so I thought everything was set up. But after the first month, she tried to get up at night and ended up falling and breaking her leg badly. It was a compound fracture. Later, I discovered that the baby monitor on their end wasn't even hooked up—it was just sitting in a drawer. They should have called 911 right away. I was really upset about that. The staff themselves were wonderful. I don't have any issues with them. Accidents can happen, and I hope they've learned from this mistake.

"Great Care at Genesis Manor V, but Pricey"
The staff at Genesis Manor V always makes sure my mom is clean and well-dressed when I visit. I see her a few times a week and take her out for meals. They feed her well and treat her kindly. If she asks for a cookie, they give her one, though she always seems hungry when I pick her up. She hasn’t complained about the food. The staff teaches her things like setting the table and works with her. They change her bedding every day. The only downside is the cost, which I think is a bit high, but I’m happy with the care they provide. There was one small issue with a staff member’s response to a comment my mom made, but it was resolved after we talked. My mom has good people to interact with at Genesis. My dad is at Heritage Park, and he rated it a 3 out of 5. He needs more care than my mom, but she seems happier at Genesis Manor than he is at Heritage Park. In the healthcare industry, I’ve learned to advocate for my parents. It’s been a learning experience, and there’s still a lot I need to learn. I keep a log of my parents’ daily activities, medications, and symptoms, which helps when making medical decisions. This has been very useful, especially when they need tests for something they’ve already been treated for. My log has helped doctors diagnose them.
