"Staff is nice, takes good care; clean rooms, healthy resident."
The staff is really nice. I believe they're doing a good job taking care of him. He seems healthy, and his body and clothes are always clean. His room and bathroom are also kept very clean.

"Friendly Staff and Community Feel"
My rating is based on my experiences before the pandemic. I would tell others that this place feels like a community, and they really try to work with the families of the residents. The staff are super friendly and genuinely care about my loved one.

"Neglect and Lack of Care at Assisted Living Facility"
My brother, who has dementia, became a resident. That same evening, around 7:15 pm, he just walked out the front door and got lost. The staff didn't even realize he was gone until after 11PM, and the Glendale PD wasn't called until then. I wasn't even informed until after 2AM My brother was lost for more than two days. When they found him near the Hollywood/Burbank Airport, he was super dehydrated, hadn't eaten for like 60 hours, and had soiled himself. He had to stay in the hospital for over two days, but thankfully, he's recovering really well now, considering everything he went through. I have a lot of issues with this facility. For one, they knew that he could walk around and might wander, but they didn't do anything to keep him safe. Secondly, he was able to just walk past the receptionist and nobody noticed. It's like they didn't even consider him a high risk resident. Lastly, the owners of the facility, [name removed], didn't even bother contacting me to say they were sorry or anything. I still haven't gotten a call from them. Just because they have a nice brochure and pretty pictures on the walls doesn't mean it's a good place. So think twice before you leave your loved one here!

"Terrible Care and Management at Glen Park Mariposa"
My mom lived here, and during her 2-year stay, the caregiving and management teams messed up. My mom didn't get proper attention, and neither did many others. I hope the guys in charge have shaped up. Make sure to think twice before you send your loved ones to Glen Park Mariposa.

"Bright, Cheerful Glen Park Gets High Marks from Resident"
I recently visited Glen Park and was impressed. The center was bright, cheerful, and had lots of open space. The staff were friendly, professional, and really good at their jobs. The residents seemed happy and enjoyed being there. I talked with a long-term resident in her private room, which was big and decorated to feel like home. She had only good things to say about the place. I plan to come back to check out their care services more closely.

"Glen Park review"
I had my mother in this place. She had a great room complete with caring and friendly staff, however her health deteriorated and we had to move her to a skilled nursing facility. The exercise sessions and food were great, and she enjoyed her stay. I would make this a top recommendation to anyone who needs an assisted living arrangement.

"Hope and Joy"
Glen Park has given my mother a quality of life that I deem immeasurable. She had reached the point where staying at home wasn't safe anymore, however she was scared to leave. She has been living with a stroke for 20 years, so she has high needs and is a more difficult patient. Being in her 70's, even more has been compromised about her life. I was surprised that Glen Park was more knowledgeable about caring for her with compassion, and professionalism than I was. She had been set on not going ever, but she has found herself in a community of people like her who she can share meals with, be safe, and see caregiver and have a medical support team work with them. I've gotten my life back after trying to do this all on my own. I didn't know how impossible that was until Glen Park showed me how much they could do for my mom. And she absolutely loves them there. Glen Park changed her, at first she wouldn't leave the room she was in. She moves at her own pace, she's in the community room participating or enjoying the entertainment for much of the time. This still makes me teary-eyed and grateful. My mom was not like this in her own home. Also, the whole place is vibrant with energy - upbeat music on the speaker system, people moving around maintaining the facility. As coming to see my mom in her home before Glen Park was borderline terrifying since I didn't know what I'd be walking into, coming into such life, smile and hospitality makes my visits (and I come often), totally invigorating. So much hope can be found everywhere here, and I feel as though we have received a new family.

"Glen Park, nice place, good value"
I have to echo the other previous reviews, we looked at several residences, and Glen Park had the most to offer, was clean and was also the most reasonably priced. Both myself and my wife were pleased with the services offered. As she was recovering from a rapid onset of dementia my mother need a place to live. She has recovered nicely thanks to Glen Parks and was able to return home. The place is inviting, cheerful, and well run. The retirement counselor we worked with was able to address all our needs and questions. Recommended, I'd like to thank Glen Park for all that they've done.

"Attentive Staff and Friendly Atmosphere Make This Facility Stand Out"
This is the third assisted living place my mom has lived in, and so far, it seems like the best one. After just one week, she looks well taken care of. The staff pays good attention to her, and the place feels welcoming and lively. The surroundings are nice (even though I'm not sure my mom really notices). My only issue is that I have to buy gloves for her caregivers. At other places, they're provided by the facility.

"Great place for mom"
This is the third assisted living facility my mom has stayed in, and after just one week, it seems to be the best. She receives good care, and the staff is attentive. The place has a friendly, active vibe, and the environment is lovely (although I’m not sure that matters to my mom). My only complaint is that I have to pay for gloves for her caregivers; everywhere else, they are provided by the establishment.

"Memory Care Center Lacks Activities, Advocacy for Patients"
We're in a different state, but we had a trusty person check out the memory care place where our Mom stays. They said it's clean but there don't seem to be any fun things to do and no one to stand up for patients who don't have family close. We expected more care and one-on-one attention.

"Great Place for Mom, Parking Can Be a Challenge"
We’re really happy with the staff, the place, and how everything is set up for our loved one. They made moving her in easy and helped us solve the parking issue by letting us buy a remote for the underground parking. The only downside is that there isn’t enough parking on the street.

I feel like the community takes good care of them. No complaints about cleanliness; it’s been consistently clean. Plus, there are service dogs around for residents to pet.

"A Wonderful Place for Our Loved Ones"
Our parent has lived at this place for over a year now. We checked out many other facilities within 40 miles, from small group homes to big assisted living places in both cities and suburbs. We have had other family members stay in similar places or do short-term stays, so we have up-to-date experience. The administration and management here are excellent. The staff work hard and are mostly very kind, often going out of their way to help. The place is clean, and the food is really good, made from fresh ingredients with a varied menu. Many staff members on the ground floor don't speak English fluently, which can be tough for seniors who have trouble hearing, but they make up for it with their kindness. The staff speak many different languages, like Armenian, Spanish, Farsi, and Arabic, which is helpful for communication. Most care facilities have problems with not enough staff or staff who come and go because of low pay. While this place has some of those issues too, they do a great job with hiring, managing, and talking to their staff. They seem to support their workers both emotionally and financially, though there's always room to improve support for those doing the toughest jobs. Considering the price, it’s run very well. If it cost $9,000 a month, we’d expect even more. It’s clear that the administration and management are committed to providing quality care, even during tough times. I also appreciate how they mix guests so they can create a friendly community. They balance healthier, pleasant guests with others who might need more help or be a bit grumpier. The guests come from a variety of backgrounds, including different races, economic statuses, ages, and health needs. We love the diversity and find it very lively and interesting. If you’ve spent any time in assisted living facilities, you’ll really appreciate this one. Glen Park Mariposa has a great atmosphere. We’ve had some minor issues, of course, as caring for a loved one is complex, but any problems are always handled with respect and professionalism. They find solutions or creative compromises. You can’t ask for more than that.

"Super Friendly Staff and Great Activities"
The staff here is super nice and always ready to help. They quickly respond to any requests, and the place is always clean. They try hard to make sure everyone feels included and sit people at tables where they’ll get along. There’s a fresh juice bar and plenty of activities to enjoy. It’s a great deal for the price, family-owned, and doesn’t feel like a big corporation. I’m really happy with my choice.

"The Glen Park West was very welcoming and informative."
The Glen Park West felt really open and everyone was super friendly. There were more people around, and the rooms were nice. she mentioned that it takes five to six months for Medi-Cal to start working. She also said that Mom could move in, and we could cover the cost until it kicked in. My sister offered to help, but I need to text her.

"Good care and improvements, but could use more staff engagement."
We have a lot of positive things to say about the staff and the facility. My relative used to be in the less secure area and wandered off a few times. Now, she's in a more secure area and has only escaped once since moving. The staff is very professional and friendly, and the place is kept very clean. They are also updating the less secure side to improve its security. The higher security side can feel a bit gloomy, but they keep residents busy with activities and offer healthy snacks. They have doctors on staff who are open to various treatments, and there are some really good people working there. It has really helped reduce my stress. There is one caretaker who seems to be on his phone a lot, and I wish he would interact with the residents more.

We are very happy with this place. It’s very clean and friendly. They are quick to respond to care needs and call me right away if anything happens, so communication is great. They offer a good variety of activities, and the food is really good—she enjoys it. I think they even work with the waiver program. It’s great.

"Unexpected charges and lack of promised care"
They'll try to make you pay more than what they originally claim. My family member is staying there because we thought they had good memory care. They assured us they could look after my family member. The memory care does cost more than their regular care - that’s okay. But once my family member settled in, they suggested adding personalized care.

"Awful Communication and Care at Assisted Living Center"
Father's Poor Treatment and Unethical Practices at Assisted Living Facility" It all started when my dad fell and I was not informed. He fell once more, and this time, they did choose to inform me, but it was only after the doctor identified some clues that it became clear he'd experienced previous falls. Their vague description of a small bump on my dad's head was a gross understatement. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the disturbing vision of his two black eyes, a massive bump, and a noticeable absence of one of his teeth. In the middle of all this, the director had the gall to email me while my dad was still in the hospital, explaining that he wouldn't be allowed to return. I suspect they believed they could act without consequence, considering I lived in a separate county and couldn't constantly monitor their behavior. Their attitude was far from accommodating each time I managed to visit; they would often gripe about my father's mobility, and I have a nagging feeling they medicated him to pacify his alertness and activity. Before he joined this establishment, Dad was on a perfectly balanced 2.3 mg dose of amlodipine. However, their onsite doctor thought it wise to spike it up to 10 mg, which is likely why he was perpetually tipping over! However, this was just a tiny part of the ordeal. They made errors with every single prescription he was given. Their doctor would casually make his rounds, prescribe a random selection of medication, and never once did they think to consult us. Despite all this, they had the audacity to claim that they were extending us a favor by charging $3,000 per month. Even though I was responsible for paying the bills, during my infrequent times of absence (promptly communicated to them), they would approach my visiting sister with warnings that, if she refused to cover the bills, our father would be kicked out. Their actions are beyond reproach, and I have nothing positive to comment on about their so-called service.

"Glen Park West is a great choice for independent living"
Glen Park West is a great place where people can live independently and come and go as they like, and some even have their own cars. We picked Glen Park West because it’s connected to Glen Park East, which offers more help with care. If someone goes outside, an alarm will sound, which is reassuring. We liked that we wouldn’t have to move our loved one to a new place if they needed extra help, which was a big reason for choosing Glen Park. Compared to other places we looked at, Glen Park was much better. One place didn’t have any activities, and another was nice and cheaper but didn’t offer as many services. Overall, Glen Park has been a great choice for us.
