"Poor organization and lack of information at assisted living facility"
This place didn't wow me at all. When we arrived for our visit, the person who was supposed to show us around wasn't there. They looked everywhere, but ended up having the receptionist give us the tour instead. We asked her what the cost would be, but she couldn't give us a precise answer. The person who was supposed to meet us finally got back to us a week later, but by then we'd already made our decision.

"Struggling Assisted Living Facility"
My mom's lap blanket vanished within two weeks here. The staff moves at a snail's pace. There are bugs in the apartments that they promise to spray someday. The place reeks, and the care is barely there. The food? Either wrong or barely enough unless you ask. It's practically a dump.

"Quiet, caring community with friendly staff and nearby school"
Golden Pond is a great community. It's the best place I’ve found for my loved one. I really like that it’s in a quiet neighborhood, away from busy streets. Being next to a school is nice because it’s fun to see the kids around. The staff is very friendly and takes good care of the residents. I do wish there were more activities outside the community. They have weekly outings, but I wish there were more for my loved one. They hold monthly meetings where residents can share what they want. The community offers a meal plan, a bistro, and more. Overall, I think it’s an awesome place.

"Poor Facility Conditions, Unhelpful Staff Threaten Residents' Dignity"
This facility is terrible. The rooms are rundown and filled with bugs like roaches. The food is bad and eating times are fixed. You can't do things as per your own wishes, your freedom is lost. Staff are unhelpful and can belittle your family member. I beg you not to abandon your family here. You'll be sorry.

"Neglectful staff, poor conditions, and inadequate care at this facility."
My biggest regret was choosing this place for my mom or dad. The images they show are nothing like what you actually get. The rooms are falling apart and filled with roaches. The cabinets and drawers are busted and useless. The heating and cooling system never operates right. The menu choices are very few and if you don't like what they're serving, too bad - you go hungry. They don't pay attention to specific dietary needs like soft foods or cutting up meals. If you can't do everything for yourself, you're in for a tough time here. The staff doesn't seem to want to help and they make it pretty obvious. When you need them, they take hours to respond. They aren't willing to assist with moving around, leaving your family member stuck. The staff is disrespectful, insulting and belittles the residents, then they tell the family that the resident is just old and confused. Medicines are not given out correctly, if they're given out at all. Medicines disappear on a regular basis. This place might be okay if your loved one can do everything for themselves, but please don't leave them there if they need any help at all.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility Near Sacramento"
Our family visited in person; it was good but older. It's nearly 10 miles from Sacramento, not ideal. They kept in touch and were really helpful after the tour.

"Wonderful care, even in difficult situations"
They’ve been great at looking after Mom. She didn’t want to leave her home, but they work hard to keep her engaged, watch for issues, and help her when needed. We probably waited too long to move her, but they’ve made the best of it. They’ve even handled her unhappy partner, which has made things more difficult. Thank you so much for your patience.

"Poor Management and Lack of Creative Activities at Facility"
Great place, tasty meals. Sadly, the management is lacking, and the people in charge of activities are not well-trained. They don't communicate well, nor do they follow through. The range of activities lacks imagination. The bus they use for outings breaks down a lot, with no backup available, causing us to miss out on fun times. We've expressed our concerns, but it seems like they just tell us what we want to hear without really taking action.

I was searching for a place to live and found Golden Pond. It reminded me of a movie. Sadly, the food and darkness left me unimpressed. Just touring it, I sensed it would be too gloomy for me to live there.

"Highly recommended for caring staff and a clean community"
My sister is very happy here. She enjoys the activities and the staff is fantastic—kind and friendly. They keep me updated on how she's doing. She’s eating well, so I assume she likes the food. The community is clean and well maintained. I highly recommend this place.

"Excellent Value"
My sister has lived here for more than a year. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Whenever there's an emergency, they respond quickly and take the right action. They pay close attention to her personal needs. The apartments are the most spacious we've found, with plenty of storage space. The food is decent, and they serve some really tasty soups. Overall, it's a great value.

This place is really nice! The people who work here are super friendly and ready to help you with anything you need. The rooms are comfy and relaxing. Plus, they have lots of events and things to do if you want to join in. Overall, it's a great place to be.

"Affordable, Pleasant Assisted Living Spot with Great Amenities but outdated"
The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. It's a lovely spot, but the walk to the rooms is really long, and while it's clean, it's a bit old-fashioned. Fits my budget well. I might go for it. Awesome amenities, too.

"Golden Pond Improvements Make Living Better!"
Golden Pond has made some improvements recently, especially with the new person in charge. These changes seem to be good, like having flexible dining hours for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and now all residents from independent and assisted units eat together in the same dining room. There are also more social activities and entertainment for residents, transportation options have expanded, and the staff is more hands-on.

"Golden Pond: Great Experience, Dim Hallways"
My experience has been great at Golden Pond. The staff is marvelous and very attentive to my mother. The only complaint I have is that the hallways are very long and dark. They should consider adding new LED lights.

Wow, this place is really nice and well-maintained! The food is good, and the residents seem happy. But those hallways are just too long. The apartment is nice, but the bathrooms need some racks or storage for towels.

I thought it was pretty good, definitely affordable. It's conveniently located right next to Capital Christian. The layout is grand but it might be a little too much walking for residents. I might want to take another look.
