"Residents Happy, Meals Disappointing, Activities Limited"
My mother-in-law doesn't like the food here; she was used to better at home. We haven't heard about any activities, except for a guitar player coming soon. The cost is fixed, so we can plan our budget. But what I really notice is how cheerful the residents are. Most of them are very lively and engaged, which is why we picked this place.

"Assisted Living Facility Struggles with Staff Changes and Communication"
My family member's living place changed bosses five times already. The latest boss didn’t return my call about problems we had. In short, they switch a lot and don't talk well.

"Hollybrook Humbug: Broken Promises and Unvaccinated Staff"
The food and service at this place are just awful. It's not clean at all. Plus, half of the workers aren't even vaccinated. The top boss is unprofessional and shouldn't even be working in a place like this. Don't risk putting your loved ones in Hollybrook. They promise you all these great things, but they never actually deliver!

"Friendly Staff and Active Community, Great Value for Money"
I chose this community because it's affordable and meets our needs. The staff are really friendly, unlike other places I visited where they seemed cold and distant. Here, they're willing to chat with the residents. My mom enjoys being active, and she has that option here. The admissions director has been very informative and helpful to us.

"Disappointed with Hollybrook's unmet promises and poor management."
We were really disappointed with Hollybrook Senior Living. They didn't keep their promises. My mom ended up in the emergency room 3 times in just 2.5 months of staying there. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. They lack guidance and leadership. It's not well-managed at all.

"Dangerous Facility, Lost Items, No Outdoor Access, Seeking Alternatives"
KEEP AWAY FROM HERE! Updated view: My dad's been here almost a year, and he's fallen down several times when there's been NOBODY there to help. He's lost all his stuff, they NEVER let the residents out for walks, he's got unexplained bruising, and just recently his roommate cracked his skull open (he still has staples in his head to prove it). This place is a rip-off run by clueless, untrained and totally unreliable staff. Seriously, don't risk coming here. We're urgently searching for a new place. First impression: The outside isn't impressive, but it's actually bright and friendly inside. They don't let the memory care folks walk around outside on their own (or even in the small inner courtyard) like some bigger places do. I guess if they did, it would cost more. They try to make up for it with walks in the neighborhood everyday. We saw more expensive places, but they were so dark inside. This place isn't perfect, but it's a cheaper option.

"Helpful and Informative Tour, But Parking Issues"
Our contact, was very knowledgeable and clearly loved her job. She took a lot of time to explain their program and answered all our questions. We were mainly worried about his isolation because he sleeps a lot and then constantly calls for something. He wouldn't have used a button to call for help. He also talks to his imaginary relatives and friends, which would be tough with a roommate. Parking was another issue. They might be working on it, but when we got there, the only parking was in the driveway.

"Improvements Suggested for Hollybook Assisted Living"
Our time at Hollybook so far is okay, but there's room for betterment. They were wonderful about figuring out what care my family member would need after the hospital. Now that we've moved in, the staff still treats the residents really well, but they're not so good at communicating with families. The rooms are kind of cramped and the location isn't the best. Still, they keep the place nice and tidy and no one has complained about the food.

"Convenient Location and Friendly Staff, but Dimmer Lighting"
This place was really nice, but the lights seemed a bit darker than other places we checked out. The people who work there were great - super nice and friendly. The folks living there looked happy too. If another place didn't have a special deal, I might have picked this one because it's way closer to my home.

I am very happy with the great service this place gave my mother. Every staff member, from housekeeping to administration, maintenance, activities, and servers, has been wonderful in meeting my mother's needs. She stayed here for just a month while I was away, and she didn't want to leave. She plans to move in permanently for long-term care when needed. I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a top-notch place.

"Happy with the clean, cozy, and affordable living facility"
When I visited the facility before moving my mother in, I was impressed by how clean everything was, the updated furniture, and how organized the place was. The public areas for residents are great, with nice outdoor spaces and a cozy TV/movie room with comfy chairs. The dining hall is clean and operates like a restaurant, so residents can pick and order their meals. The price for a private room is very fair, and my mother is adjusting well and seems as happy as she can be!

"Safe, Clean, and Engaging: Ideal Living for Loved Ones"
This place is really well-organized, neat, and they help out with things like laundry, which is great. I enjoy seeing my mom joining in on lots of fun stuff like picnics, drives with nice views, and just hanging out with others. She really likes the food here, and they even invited me to a special Mother's Day meal, which was nice. The people who work here are friendly, polite, and always make sure my mom gets her medicine on time. The only thing I'd say is they should make sure they handle all the little requests too. Overall, I'd say this is a good place because my mom feels safe and taken care of.

"Kind staff but disorganized, lost personal belongings."
Hollybrook is quite messy. It seemed like everyone I spoke to had a different story about the situation and why my Dad had to leave. The whole thing was managed poorly and no one could give me a clear answer. The staff members are really nice and young, but they lack professionalism. They misplaced my Dad's two pairs of glasses and his headphones and we didn't learn about it until we were moving him out on his last day. They have communication problems. The activities are okay. There's no way for the residents to go outside by themselves. The place is very clean, maybe too clean. I was however, pleased with the assistance from A Place For Mom.

"Inferior Care and Management at Hollybrook Assisted Living"
My mom stayed at this facility for a full year. During that time, we encountered numerous problems with her laundry being mixed up, and items going missing such as her clothes, jewelry, bedding, and even her ID. When we addressed these issues, the response was far from satisfactory; staff generally made it seem as if we were at fault for raising concerns. Despite the reasonable pricing, the old saying "you get what you pay for" holds true - the premises were often unclean. My interactions with the administrative staff suggested a lack of professionalism, seemingly due to their young age. Thankfully, there were a few nurses and other staff who truly excelled in their duties. However, it seems that upper management has failed to properly train those who are lacking. Based on my personal experience, I would not endorse choosing Hollybrook. We eventually moved my mom to a different facility where she's much happier. So take your time in finding the right place because rushing into it like I did can lead to regret.

"Challenging Yet Caring Environment"
I feel like the folks at Hollybrook are nice and caring. Sometimes, though, we have trouble understanding each other, and it gets frustrating—like clothes mysteriously vanishing or getting mixed up. It's tough to keep an eye on everyone, especially in memory care. But I see them making an effort to help out, even when things are really tough. My mom's been there for about three months now, and even though it's been really hard for her, she likes the people who work there.

"Kind and Wonderful Assisted Living, with a Medication Concern"
I liked everyone at the assisted living facility. They were kind and wonderful. But there was a problem: they put her in assisted living after her assessment. Even though they thought she'd be okay there, I didn't agree. The doctor prescribed medication as needed, but the community couldn't adjust the dosage. It left her over-medicated. The facility is nice, but I'd insist on memory care next time.

"Hollybrook: A Wonderful Place for Mom"
The ladies who gave us a tour were very nice and really cared about my mom’s well-being. The place was clean and bright. The staff was always friendly and interested in us. Overall, I was very impressed with Hollybrook and can’t wait for my mom to move in once she’s out of rehab. Our questions were answered quickly. Our needs, and my mom’s needs, were addressed, and we were assured that whatever she might need to be comfortable would be taken care of. I feel secure knowing she will be well taken care of.

"No Thrills: Mother and I Left Disappointed by Assisted Living Visit."
I went to check this place out with my mom and we didn't really like it. The area it's in isn't the best and there's barely any space to park. Some of the people working there didn't seem to know much, especially when we asked them detailed questions. They showed us the memory care area and the residents were doing stuff, but it felt like they only did it because we were there. Those were the only people living there we saw too -- everyone else was an employee. The place is kind of old, so some stuff is not modern. When we sat down to talk with the workers, they kept talking over my mom and to me instead of listening to her. They finally called me back after two weeks to tell me the cost, but they left out some important things like my mom's medicine. All in all, the place felt weird and we were really let down and didn't like it.

"Hollybrook is a pleasant, active community for seniors needing assistance."
The staff helps residents interact and join activities, rather than staying alone in their rooms. During move-in, they were very helpful, making sure everything was in order—like getting the TV working and setting up oxygen lines to prevent tripping hazards. I appreciated hearing from long-time Hollybrook residents who enjoy living here. And it’s great that residents order meals from a menu, just like at a restaurant. While there’s a funny smell when you first enter, the rest of the facility is okay. Plus, the hallways showcase residents’ artwork, and pictures near the doorways help us learn names and faces.

"Underestimated Costs and Poor Communication"
When we first talked to the team, they appeared extremely welcoming. However, they significantly low-balled the estimate for care services for my grandma. Initially, they quoted $500 but they bumped it up to $1500 just days before she was to move in. This was pretty troubling. I tried reaching out to them multiple times with an expectation of an immediate callback, but there was no response from their end. Their reluctance to communicate back was really disheartening.

"Intimate Assisted Living, But Not Ideal for Dementia"
My dad stayed there for around two weeks. I really liked the place and the folks there. It was cozy and felt more personal. However, they weren't fully equipped to handle his level of dementia, so he had to shift to the memory care unit. The hallways were really short, only about thirty feet long, and my dad isn't that severe. It felt too cramped for him.

"Dad approved! Clean, lively, friendly staff, decent area, affordable rates."
My dad toured this place and he really liked it. The main thing we need to consider now is how much it costs. It's really clean, has a good atmosphere, and it's in a nice area. The staff are friendly too. They have rooms that you share with someone else starting at just $1,200 a month, and if you want your own private suite, it starts at $2,200. They also have some extra fees like $468 for care and a $500 fee for moving into the community.

"Older Construction, Small Rooms, Monthy Rent Lacks Coverage"
This place is an older, more mature architecture with quite compact bedrooms that only include a closet, bathroom, and a living area. It even has these tiny little outdoor spaces for eating or relaxing. Except, these patios aren't hidden from view at all. Additionally, the monthly rent seems to cover less than one would expect. Things like having your room cleaned every week, getting new sheets, and participating in fun events will all cost you extra cash.
