"Disappointed with food quality at Horizon Assisted Living Facility."

The place where my Mom stayed for 6 weeks was clean and looked nice. But I had a big problem with Horizon because of the food! I couldn't believe how bad it was. They served boxed Kraft Macaroni & Cheese with Spam, Franks and Beans, and a lot of Soup! For $1,000 a week, I thought they'd at least serve some healthy homemade food! It was really disappointing! No one else in the house could talk, so they just gave them whatever food? That's not like my Mom, she just tried to grin and bear it. Now that she's moved back to her apartment, I'll let the people at Horizon know how my family feels! They should get a Cookbook and learn that they can make Macaroni and Cheese with healthy stuff like real cheese, milk, and butter. (The Orange color in Kraft doesn't come from cheese). There are lots of healthy things that are easy to make, maybe they should get a crockpot! I hope this helps other families when choosing care for a loved one!
