"Assisted living needs improvement, lacking in care and attention."

I picked this place because it's close to my folks. It's just a quick drive to get there. Everyone seems nice enough when I visit my parents, and they treat them OK. Some staff are good, but others aren't so great. One person doesn't speak English well. They could really use more help because they're often short-staffed. Rooms are usually clean, and the staff tidy up and wash my parents' clothes. They have activities like piano, bingo, and exercise classes. But, I rated it a 2 because there are a lot of problems that the staff isn't fixing. My mom needs extra help because she's blind. I've heard her crying for help to go to the bathroom, and the staff just tells her to use her diapers. This happens a lot, and both of my parents keep getting infections. When they ask to see a doctor, the staff ignores them. Instead, they just keep everyone in bed most of the day. The food portions are small, and my mom has lost a lot of weight. I'm not sure if it's because the food isn't good or if the staff isn't helping her eat. I wouldn't recommend this place.

"Dissuade People from This Negligent Assisted Living Facility"

I initially chose this place because it's just a two-minute drive from my home, making visits to my parents more convenient. The people living and working here appear welcoming and my parents seem to be taken care of well. Among the staff, some are great, but a few are uninspiring, with one not even proficient in English. It also becomes evident they're often understaffed and could use some extra hands. The facility is well-maintained - the rooms are clean, the beds are nicely made, and the clothes are regularly washed. They have some activities like piano sessions, bingo with prizes, and exercise classes, which add to the pros. But, giving just 2 stars to this facility was due to many unresolved issues that the staff is falling short of handling. My mother, who is visually impaired, needs additional assistance in navigating and needs help going to the restroom. I've heard her pleading for assistance, to which the staff responded dismissively, advising her to use her adult diaper. This negligence has resulted in my parents often struggling with Urinary Tract Infections. Moreover, their requests to visit the doctor are overlooked, which is a serious concern. The staff's approach to resolving issues just seems to be by confining the residents to their beds, with the only exception being mealtimes. The quality and quantity of food served seem inadequate, as my mother has lost a significant amount of weight within a month. All these observations have led me to question whether this facility is genuinely helpful or just doing the bare minimum for its residents. Ultimately, I would discourage others from considering this assisted living facility.
