"Amazing Assisted Living with Spectacular Views!"
The assisted living facility is fantastic! It’s in an amazing location with spectacular views, just one block from Lake Merritt. The transportation for local shopping is good, and the facility is clean and well maintained. Most meals are good, although some could be better. The residents are nice and friendly. Keep in mind that maintenance issues can arise due to the building’s age—it’s a very old historic structure. The rooms are large and comfy, and the views are truly worth seeing. This is definitely not your average independent living community; it’s way nicer!

"Affordable, But Lacks Previous Charm and Quality"
I really wanted to give Lake Park a better rating because it once offered a lot more services, but now it’s pretty much just a place to stay. I understand the place had to be updated with the new management taking over, yet somehow it all seems done on the cheap. We chose it since it didn’t cost too much and we thought it would be better for meeting people than just staying home alone.

"Pacifica's Mismanagement of Lake Park Upsets Elderly Residents"
My mother-in-law used to really like living at Lake Park for quite a while, until a company named Pacifica bought it. After they stepped in, things became really bad. Mom was encountering strangers coming into the building and even inside homes; and constant shortage of food, which is completely terrible! Finally, she had to move somewhere else, just like several other old-time dwellers. Now, Pacifica isn't giving back the deposit money, completely disobeying their agreement, and simply ignoring every attempt to communicate. We're even thinking about taking legal action to recover the money my 85-year-old mom-in-law really needs for her living costs. It's hard to tell if the new owners care about anything at all, but they clearly don't seem bothered about the elderly folks they should be taking care of. It's truly a sad and pitiful scenario.

"Assisted Living Facility Shows Promise Under New Management"
This place has new management and lots of potential to bring back the activities that used to make it a great place to live. The fee to join isn't too high, so it's not a big problem if you decide to move out after a year.

"Reasonably Priced Assisted Living with Wonderful Views and Creative Management"
The assisted living facility has great views if you're lucky to get a room with one. The apartments are a good size, and the staff runs things in a creative way. It's not as expensive as some other places, but they do require an upfront payment.
