Meadow Oaks of Roseville

"Meadow Oaks resident hurt my mom, not handled well"
My mom got hurt by another person living at Meadow Oaks. They moved everyone else away for the day, but then put him right back where he was. She ended up going to the hospital. Now, they've got him at the same dinner table as my mom. This is absolutely not okay. I’m already looking for somewhere else for her to live.

"Institutional Food and Winter Transition"
Our first time here, so no comparisons. Food feels institutional, and not all menu items are available for memory care residents. No observed activities, but it's winter. Still in transition.

"A Few Hiccups, Overall Good Experience"
Honestly, it seems like they promised a lot of services, but now that our mom is there, those don't exist or have changed. We were impressed that they offered someone to show our mom around, but that never happened—the person who was supposed to do that had passed away, and my mom was overlooked. Other than that, everything is good. The staff is very friendly, and my mom is enjoying her time there.

We visited Meadow Oaks of Roseville and our guide was really nice. The place was clean, but it felt old and there wasn't much outside space for the residents.

"Small Facility with Limited Activities, Decent Tour Experience"
We visited Meadow Oaks of Roseville and felt it wasn't as nice as other places we looked at. It's not very big and there weren't many activities happening.

"“Friendly Staff, Need More Activities”"
The staff was nice, but they should add more outdoor activities for those who can walk daily or every other day.

We want to thank , , and for taking care of our mother at for the last year and a half. Every time we visited, we saw how happy she was and how well she and the other residents were treated. "Great Staff, Some Communication Needed"
At first, just make sure to let them know what you want and check in often as they get to know your loved one. A lot of follow-up is needed. They were changing management and dealing with Covid, so it took more communication than usual. It was a tough time. When I visited, they were always welcoming and fixed any issues right away, which was awesome. My loved one didn't always want to eat or drink, and I'm not sure how much they checked on that. It could be they were doing it, and my loved one still refused. But every time I visited, the lobby and common areas were always spotless, and so was my loved one's room when I got to see it.

"Cozy Facility with Friendly Staff but Small Studios Disappoint"
This place really wowed us. They had lots of fun things for the folks to do, and the workers were super nice. But, um, the little apartments were just way too cramped for what we wanted.

"Feels like home, mom's happy, staff friendly, food unsure."
This was the only place we visited. It's close to home and looked nice. Mom seems okay, meeting folks and doing stuff. Don't know if she likes the food. Staff was friendly.

"Bitter Experience At Meadow Oaks Despite Initial High Hopes"
My mother used to stay at Alta Manor until Meadow Oaks took control in 2016. They moved my mom, who had dementia, to assisted living despite the constant changes in the staff. She experienced emotional issues due to troubles with getting her correct medication. Lack of trust with the staff led to her condition worsening, and the staff would simply blame her for neglecting her hygiene and cleanliness. As her child, I had to mediate between her, the RSD, and her doctors. Besides, medications were randomly found in her room, and others noticed this too. When business folks came and realized her room could accommodate another resident, they seemed keen on moving her out for monetary gain. I was disturbed when another prospective caregiver overheard the staff complaining about my mother's smell. The staff often used my mother as their scapegoat instead of owning up to their shortcomings. The fees at Meadow Oaks were exorbitant. Towards her last days, the efforts to maintain her cleanliness decreased since they knew she would be leaving. I had to keep reminding them. If you're considering Meadow Oaks for your loved ones, be sure to visit unexpectedly and at various times of the day. Especially for dementia patients who can't communicate what's happening with them properly. Timely payments and cooperation mean nothing to them; the ultimate fact is their profit.

"Disastrous Experience at Meadow Oaks!"
Meadow Oaks was a nightmare experience for my husband and I. He was a resident there for less than two weeks. They didn't bathe him for over a week, resulting in an eye infection. They promised that residents were checked on every two hours during the night, but apparently, "checking" doesn't include taking them to the bathroom. This poor care led to him developing a painful rash that required antibiotics. He also fell multiple times, and all of this neglect eventually led to pneumonia. He had to be rushed to the emergency room. Unfortunately, he didn't make it and passed away there. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. They don't have enough staff to live up to the care they promised.

"Warning! This Place Lacks Proper Care!"
My experience has been pretty lousy so far. It seems like there aren't enough employees at this facility. My husband has been living there for 10 days and just had his first shower yesterday! He lacks control over his bladder and has accidents every day. To top it all off, he's got a painful sore on his backside that needs antibiotics. It looks like he got it from sitting in a wet or used adult diaper for too long. I've only waited a week before deciding to give my 30-day notice. I strongly urge you to not let your loved one stay here.

"Spotless Facility!"
My husband stayed at this community briefly, and during his time there, we were quite pleased with his experience. The facility was consistently clean, and the housekeeping team did an excellent job maintaining his room. The food they served was healthy and well-balanced, with plenty of options for him to choose from. Overall, we were very satisfied and would definitely recommend their services.

"Top-notch care in a clean, caring community with fun activities."
I'm super pleased with how well they take care of my mom here. The people who work here are really friendly and kind. Everywhere you look, it's all neat and tidy. They've got activities too. I think other families would really like it here if they need good care.

"Nice Place, But Too Expensive For Our Budget"
I visited this community and found it to be good. They gave me a lot of details about their care services. Everything seemed nice, and the staff did well, but it wasn’t the right fit for us. The initial cost was too high for our budget, so it wasn’t easy to make it work.

"Beyond Poor Care in Assisted Living Facility"
I can't believe you'd show off a brand new room that isn't even available to somebody looking for a place for their dying father. It feels like a total bait-and-switch, with you showing us a room straight out of a movie only to then give us a tiny, dull room instead. And how is it that you guys can't even keep up with basic cleanup duties? Who on earth leaves behind a mess on the floor for a family member to deal with? How can you think it's okay to put someone in a room you never said they'd be in, with a toilet that's filthy and full of someone else's waste? How is it your staff can be so clumsy that they bump someone's head while moving them? I've heard this place was just bought by DiNapoli Capital Partners. Maybe their CEO can take a break from thinking about real estate to focus on quality care. This isn't some fancy apartment or hotel. This is a place for seniors who need memory care and hospice rooms. What's needed here is honesty, top-notch care, and professionalism, not a bunch of empty promises. Maybe the CEO should come to have a look at what's happening here. He might want to find out why your fancy manager claimed there were nurse services available when there weren't. Or how the staff tried to get the nurse to move my father-in-law in an unsafe way because you guys didn't have the right gear. Thank God the nurse refused. I hope they don't lose their job for standing up for safety. Also, it wouldn't hurt if he rolled up his sleeves and helped out a bit. After a mere 24 hours here, we decided to move my father-in-law. As he was leaving around 6 in the evening, the seniors in memory care still hadn't had their dinner. Because there weren't enough staff, they were being served dessert instead. Thankfully, my father-in-law had us to stand up for him. Other people here might not be as lucky. The constant dishonesty and incompetence have been a nightmare. My husband wanted to be there for his dying father, but instead, he had to fight for him to get good care. This is just completely beyond being okay.

"Loss of warmth in memory care: Urgency for Positivity"
In the memory care area, there's hardly any valuable or enjoyable activities taking place. Most folks there just sleep or watch television. It seems like they're not receiving the same treatment and care as the other residents. I've noticed especially in the last month or so, the staff don't seem as cheerful as they used to be. However, the newly hired nurse and care assistants are still doing their best, dealing with whatever resources they have. The Executive Director, on the other hand, rarely steps out of her office, except for meals or that one time she visited memory care. I truly believe this place needs a breath of fresh positivity to regain some of the warmth it once possessed. After all, we should be prioritizing the care of our elderly, rather than focusing on production.

"Accommodating budget, separate apartments, clean, good food, near VA clinic"
The facility worked with our family budget, letting my parents stay in separate apartments. It’s very clean and busy here. A resident told me the food is good. We chose two apartments because my mom might not like the memory care area. She’s 94 and doesn’t want to live with “a bunch of old people.” The rooms are a bit small for a hospital bed and the equipment needed for my dad, but they’re ready to help. The VA clinic is just 10 minutes away, which is very important!

"Pervasive Communication Issues and High Staff Turnover Rate"
They truly dropped the ball here. Whenever I would inquire who assisted my relative with meals or basic needs, they found it hard to provide an answer. The quality of care and treatment was truly appalling. Supposedly, there's new leadership in charge now, but the problem seemed bigger than a single individual. The staff continually changed during our time there, indicative of a high turnover rate. I strongly discourage anyone from choosing this facility.
