"Monte Vista Village: A Clean and Beautiful Place!"
When we visited Monte Vista Village while looking for a place for my mom, we thought it was really nice. It was clean, friendly, and had a beautiful property.

"Rooms in separate buildings, inconvenient for residents accessing amenities."
Our family went for a visit, and the main problem we noticed was that the rooms were in different buildings. This meant that the people living there would have to walk outside whenever they wanted to go to the dining or activity areas.

"Limited Memory Care, Forced Moves Not Ideal for Seniors"
I talked to them, but they don't have special care for memory problems. They said my aunt couldn't stay if her memory got worse.

"Care Needs Not Met"
This place seemed nice, but it couldn't handle her needs. If we chose it, she'd need more help from a caregiver. Clean and friendly though.

"Quiet Assisted Living with Beautiful Gardens"
This place was nice. It has pretty grounds and gardens. But the assisted living part is small and not near the main building, so you might not have many people to talk to unless you take a long walk.

"Happy Residents Thrive at Monte Vista Assisted Living Facility"
My parents moved to Monte Vista a year ago. I eat with them there once a week. Meals are reasonably priced. I'm a good cook, and most meals are very good. If you don't like what's on the menu, you can order a hamburger, hot dog, grilled chicken breast, or deli sandwich. I cook with little salt, and MVV does too. There are salt and pepper shakers on every table. The ham at lunch yesterday was delicious. My folks had a theft problem, but I installed a camera in their apartment and caught the thief, who is now in jail. MVV can't install cameras due to state privacy laws, but a resident can. It cost less than $100 and solved the problem. There have been no other thefts for months. One bad apple doesn't reflect on MVV. The administration was responsive and helpful, assisting with camera placement and showing care to Mom and Dad. The staff exceed expectations every day. Mom and Dad attend exercise class four times a week and have a tour scheduled today. There are plenty of activities. They are very happy, and their health has improved according to their blood work. Highly recommended.

"Monte Vista: Good Friends, Bad Food, Unaddressed Problems"
My grandpa, who's 90, has been living at MVV for the past two years. He likes the place, the people, even the weather. But he doesn't enjoy the food, which he feels has been getting worse. He also thinks the fun stuff and social events aren't as good as they used to be. Not too long ago, we ate lunch with him there. Honestly, it was awful. We've also heard about some theft going on at Monte Vista that the workers don't really care about. Whenever there's an issue or someone complains, they always just say it's because that person's memory is fading or they're getting mixed up. We would have taken him out of there a while back, but he has pals at MVV and he says that makes up for the bad parts.

"Persistent Theft and Dreadful Food Spoil Monte Vista Stay"
My 96-year-old mom has been living in Monte Vista Village for 3 years in a 1-bedroom apartment. Despite her worsening eyesight, her mind is sharp and her memory is still good. However, two issues stand out about this place: a recurring issue with theft and unappetizing, low-quality food. Mom has lost jewelery, money, and personal items several times while she's away for lunch. Since the management has keys to all units and staff frequently barge in without notice, she cannot simply lock her doors. They blame the thefts on the memory of the residents, but I think that's a minor factor at the most. It's a major issue that no one seems to be addressing. The food is horribly bland, unseasoned and simply bad. Most of the inhabitants agree but are too scared to voice out. I'm not sure about the source of the positive reviews for Monte Vista Village, but they definitely don't paint an accurate picture of the place.

"Great rooms but too far, limited parking, not what we wanted."
We decided not to move my mom there because it was too far away from our house. Plus, there wasn't much parking, and we got worried about leaving our car on the street. The rooms were really nice though, and the place seemed like it wouldn't cost too much. But it just wasn't what we were searching for.

"Positive Progress at Assisted Living Facility"
The place is doing well. They really like the food, and they're starting to do more activities and getting used to the place. There was a theft in the room, which was unfortunate, but the people in charge handled it well.

"Perfect Choice for Dad—He Loves It Here!"
The owner was super helpful, answered all my questions, and took great care of my dad. She made sure he felt good about all the choices. He moved in smoothly and loves it here. He’s really impressed with the food and enjoys playing poker. The staff is friendly and engaging, and the place is always clean and well-kept. I checked out several places around, and Monte Vista was the best by far. They have lots of activities and really encourage residents to join in.

"Tracy. All single story. Top-notch amenities."
This is a single-story assisted living facility. They don’t accept dementia patients. For $4,370 a month, residents get food, laundry, and housekeeping services. Each building has 12-14 apartments, and it’s part of a larger community. There are 154 units in total, with 27 in assisted care. Cable TV is included. They assist with bathing, laundry, and dressing, and offer various activities and exercise classes. While I’m not sure about the square footage, the apartments fit a double bed, two recliners, a dresser, and a TV.

"Difficult Medication Experience Leads To Facility Change"
Our relative was with this place for a short time, but it wasn't a good experience. We faced many problems with how they handle medication, so we decided to shift our relative to another place quickly.

"Assisted Living Shines: Mom-in-law Happy, Staff Caring & Facility Clean"
My mother-in-law has been living at MVV for just over a month, but the staff already know her name. They are friendly, the place is clean, and it's easy to find your way around. There are plenty of activities for her to pick from, and she's happy with it all.

"So Thrilled with Our Choice: Monte Vista Village"
My dad moved to Monte Vista Village a few months ago, and he loves it there. The place is well-maintained, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the surroundings are like a beautiful park. We checked out other places in San Diego, but Monte Vista surprised us in a good way. Tracey, the Marketing Director, made Dad’s transition smooth. We highly recommend Monte Vista Village for senior living.

"Inconsistent Management and Billing Nightmares at Assisted Living Facility"
Every month, I faced issues with my bills. Even the folks in the main office seemed to struggle with basic math. The management would wait until the people living there left the dining area, which is in the same spot as our lounge, and then they'd lock it up. One time, they even had me lower the TV volume because they were holding a meeting in our lounge, instead of using a meeting room. The food was alright. While I was there, they had chicken and salmon, which I enjoyed. While the exterior of the place is attractive, I noticed things like cracks in the walkways. They began fixing them but never finished. The person handling the billing was notably rude. She made me stand outside to talk about my billing issue, allowing others to eavesdrop, instead of inviting me into her office.

"“O MONTE VISTA HOME SWEET HOME!!! Feel at Home!”"
O Monte Vista feels like home! The ground-floor units are apartment-style, with plenty of windows to enjoy the garden view. They’re spacious, with excellent storage and closet space, and the price is just right!
