"Choose Wisely: Investigate Before Selecting Assisted Living Facilities"
When looking for hospice care for a loved one, it's important to do some investigating. Ask yourself: Are they a for-profit or non-profit? Do they have a physical location in San Diego County? How long have they been in operation? Are their staff members employees or independent contractors? And do the social media links on their website actually work? It's also a good idea to seek referrals from your family physician. Unfortunately, the recommendations provided by this facility didn't meet any of these criteria. It felt like they were pressuring us to work with specific hospices, even though they didn't align with what we were looking for. One hospice even went as far as threatening to take away a bed from a sickly, elderly person if we didn't choose them. What's even more puzzling is that the facility tried to get them hired again, despite their questionable behavior. It's important to stand your ground and not let anyone pressure you into working with a hospice that doesn't meet your standards. With so many options available in San Diego County, take the time to make an informed decision that's best for your loved one.

"Mixed Experience in Assisted Living Facility"
I wasn't very happy because most patients were bedridden or very sick, so it was quiet with little to do. My loved one wasn't bedridden, but she felt lonely and out of place. However, they took good care of her. The house was fairly new but needed better organization. The person in charge was inexperienced and left just before we did. Despite this, the house itself was pleasant. The living and dining rooms were nice, and I liked how the residents' rooms were set up. They didn't clean the floors in my loved one's room often. Outside areas were nice, and every room had access to the yard. It's a good place for bedridden or hospice care, but they don't offer diabetic medical services.

"Unmanaged COVID Outbreak, Manager and Staff Left, Items Stolen"
At first, everything was awesome, they really looked after my family member. But then, the coronavirus outbreak spread throughout the place, and the boss just bounced out of there. All the workers got sick too, and they also split. The handling of this entire event was a total disaster. Everyone that was there with my family member didn't survive, including my own loved one. I've warned a bunch of folks not to go there. Plus, some personal stuff was stolen from my family member.
