" "Oakmont Care Quality Plummets: Residents Neglected, Daughter Reports" "
Back in 2016, I gave Oakmont a 5 star rating. Now, I wish I could take that back because it's only worth one star, if that. I'm known for being a glass-half-full type of person, just look at my old review. Since 2016, my Dad has been living here. But my, how things have fallen apart in recent years. The number of caregivers is critically low, which has led to a lack of attention and proper care for all the residents. Whenever I stopped by, it seemed like no one ever checked in on my Dad. Plus, when it was time to leave, I would have to wait for at least 10-15 minutes for a staff member to unlock the door. Complaining doesn't help either; it just makes your bill go up while the staff quantity remains the same. Needless to say, I'm pretty disappointed with the way things are being managed here. The living room is usually packed, with everyone glued to the TV because there's not much else to do. More often than not, the garden and the dining room are closed off. The atmosphere at Oakmont now is just sad. The residents seem displeased, restless, or like they've been heavily medicated. My Dad's demeanor switched to this when he was here. But at his new place, he's back to being his old, cheery self. He's greeted with hugs, laughter, friendly chats, respect, and actual human interaction – something that was sorely lacking at Oakmont. I encourage everyone to visit frequently, do your due diligence, and never make a decision based solely on what you're told.

"Dirty, Overpriced Assisted Living with Inattentive, Rude Staff"
Memory care at this place is really dirty. Don't waste your money because this place isn't worth it - it's unclean and below average. There's a total lack of understanding here where the employees just don't want to clean anything. They don't even want to give the residents a bath because they'd rather watch videos on their phones. If you're okay with your family member being spoken to in a mean way by new people working the night shift who don't even want to say who they are or put on name tags, then this is the right place for you. If you're fine with your family getting sick with fungi, bladder infections, and blood infections, and residents getting hurt and blaming female employees for hitting them in the head, then yes, you've definitely picked the right place.

"Great care and support, worth the price despite being expensive"
Moving mom here was a big change, but it's been good. Since my dad passed away, she gets a lot of help and care from both the staff and other residents. They've been great with answering our questions and concerns. Mom is really enjoying the activities they offer, which is wonderful. Sometimes the staff even bring snacks to her room and spend time chatting with her, which we really appreciate. Even though it's pricey, we think the quality of care makes it worth the cost.

"Mixed Feelings on Welcoming Atmosphere"
This place feels like a super fancy hotel. The staff are nice, but maybe it was the time we arrived because we didn't feel very welcomed by the other people living there.

"Expensive Units with No Views"
The facility is nice, but the units are too expensive for their size. There are no rooms with patios or balconies, and no view.
