"Caring Staff and Activities, Communication Needs Improvement"
The staff at Ocean Retreat are really nice. They took good care of my loved one in their last months, which matters most to me. They handle basics like feeding, bathing, and medications, and they try hard to keep residents entertained with karaoke, movies, and walks. These activities make it feel more like home than a hospital. However, I have some concerns. They aren’t always careful about documenting when residents take their meds, which worried me during emergencies. Their communication about my loved one’s needs wasn’t always clear either. I visited often usually 5 to 7 days a week and would ask if I needed to bring anything, and they’d say no. But then I’d get a call the next day saying something was urgently needed. It was frustrating to find out they’d actually been out of supplies for days or had enough for a few more days. If your loved one needs constant supervision, I’d recommend a place with licensed nurses and 24-hour care. But if not, Ocean Retreat is a good choice. Just remember to communicate clearly and ask lots of questions before deciding.

"Mixed feelings about Ocean Retreat but good for certain needs."
The staff at Ocean Retreat are really nice and took good care of my loved one when they were there. My rating is mostly based on how they treated my loved one. They do the basic stuff like feeding, bathing, giving medicine, and they try to make things fun with activities like karaoke, singing, and movies. It helps people feel more at home. But, there are some things that bothered me. They don't always keep track of when residents take their medicine. Even though they don't have to by law, it worried me when they couldn't tell me or anyone else what pills my loved one had taken, especially in emergencies. Also, their communication wasn't great. I was there almost every day, and they often said they didn't need anything from me. But then, the next day, they'd call saying they needed something urgently. It was frustrating. If your loved one needs a lot of care, I'd suggest finding a place with registered nurses and 24-hour care. But if not, Ocean Retreat is okay. Just make sure to ask lots of questions and don't assume anything.

"Friendly Staff and Clean Facility Close to Home"
I'm looking for a place for my dad, and after visiting this facility, it seems like a good option. The staff were nice and interacted well with the residents. The place was clean, inviting, and had a warm feel. I haven’t made a final decision yet since I’m still exploring other options, but their price is competitive. Plus, it's just half a block away from where my dad currently lives, which makes it a strong candidate.

I'm looking for a place for my dad, and after touring this facility, it might be the right choice. The staff was friendly and really connected with the residents. Both inside and outside were clean, cozy, and welcoming. I haven't decided yet because I'm still exploring options, but their price is good and it's just half a block away from where my dad currently lives, which makes it a strong candidate.
