"Cozy setting, not ideal for non-social seniors."

I visited this community, and it was really nice. It's housed in a small building, which I thought Mom would really like. However, Mom isn't someone who enjoys being around lots of people, so if she had any problems with others because of the small size, it might not have worked out well. Still, I did feel a warm atmosphere here. In the end, we had to look for another place.

"Warm but Not Ideal"

I visited this community, and it felt nice. The small house appealed to me, but my mom isn't great with people. If there were any problems due to the size, it might not have been ideal. Still, I got a warm feeling here. Ultimately, we had to explore other options.

"Comfortable, Clean Community for Mom"

I moved my mom into this great smaller community. The folks there are friendly and kind. I appreciate how they made my mom feel like she's part of a family. The place stays tidy and clean, which adds to my peace of mind about her surroundings and overall healthiness. I haven't had a chance to investigate the possible activities for her but she is able to make friends easily, which has made her feel more at ease. This is a top-notch place for other families to consider.

"Small Facility with Personal Care and Homey Feel—Highly Recommended"

After trying two large nursing homes, my father with severe dementia came here. The big plus was the extra care and attention in a smaller setting with just 5-6 residents. It’s comforting not to be lost in the crowd. Olympia is run by the owner, her daughter, and her niece, who are all hands-on. This personal touch makes a big difference. I also like that only these three women work here, so there’s no constant change of staff. Another great aspect is that the home feels warm and welcoming, not like a hospital. It has a little backyard with bougainvillea, and the owner’s 5-year-old granddaughter and dog add a special touch. My father enjoys watching the granddaughter play from his window. However, there are some downsides to a small setting: 1) Limited space for walking around for a person with dementia. 2) Less social interaction for outgoing individuals. Over the past three years, I've learned that as needs change, so do the requirements for care. Good luck with this stressful process.

"Great place with friendly staff and good value"

This is a great place. I wish I had known about it sooner. My grandmother really likes it and even gained a few pounds. The staff is friendly and easy to talk to. We can visit her almost anytime. It’s in a good location and has a good price for our family.

"Excellent care, clean and close to medical facility"

I like how much they care about the people living here. They work hard to make sure everyone is looked after. Everything is clean, and the food is good. They keep in touch with the family and are always happy to have visitors. They handle medications very carefully. I don’t have any complaints. It’s not too far from us and, more importantly, it’s close to the medical facility we use for my father. We’ve been very happy with it.

"Very Satisfied with Olympic Board and Care Services for My Husband"

I am really pleased with the services at Olympic Board and Care for my husband. He’s been getting better, exercises every day, and has changed from being quiet to being friendly and expressive with the other residents. The caregivers always answer the phone when I call. The facility has a steady daily routine that includes checking on the residents, bathing, mealtimes, and outdoor exercise when the sun isn’t too strong. It’s a clean and safe place for my husband. The caregivers stick to their rules but are also very respectful, polite, and attentive to my husband’s needs. I’m glad the facility is close to my house and also less expensive, with a larger private room compared to the last place we were at.
