"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
I haven't eaten there so I can't say about the food. The cleaning is pretty good; it's a clean place. Moving in was easy and they were helpful. Communication with family could be better, and billing could be clearer. Recommending it depends on what care your family needs.

"Understaffed Facility Lacks COVID Safety Measures"
If you're considering this place, I'd say think twice. They didn't seem to have enough people working, and they weren't following any safety measures for COVID when we visited.

"Mixed Feelings but Overall Positive Experience"
We are glad we chose this care home for my dad. He really enjoyed it there, especially the food and the variety of activities they offer every day. The rooms and grounds are beautiful, like staying in a hotel. The coffee room and snacks are a nice touch, and the price is very reasonable compared to others in our area. However, there were some issues. We were initially told there was a maximum cost for memory care, but later found out it was $300 more than expected. It would have been helpful to receive a list of items needed for his room upfront. During the pandemic, staff washed his phone, making it hard to stay in touch. We had to ask to use their phones, which was mostly okay but sometimes difficult. Also, we didn’t know about window visits until just before he left, and the nurse broke the news to us in a very direct way, which was upsetting. Despite these challenges, we stand by our decision to choose this care home for my dad.

"Great Care and Clean Facilities"
My loved one stayed at Rancho Vista for a short time, and overall, they do a really good job there. The place is clean, and the staff is very caring. They have about one nurse for every six residents, which is pretty good. The food is good too. I would recommend this place for those with an average budget.

"2nd Choice"
It was a nice tour. The lady who showed us around was friendly and told us a lot of helpful things. She answered all my questions. The memory care area had three units with about seven residents each, but they might not interact much because of how it's set up. The community was clean and pleasant. It was one of our top choices, but we ended up choosing somewhere else.

"Consider Elsewhere: Outdated Facility with Uninviting Atmosphere"
I visited this place and was turned off by its old-fashioned appearance. I didn't stick around to chat with the employees. The vibe just wasn't positive. I'd recommend other folks go and check it out themselves if they're considering it for a family member's care.

"Sweet Kind Community"
Things are going pretty well for my mother-in-law since she moved to this community. It's a nice place, and the staff is really kind and sweet. The only problem I've noticed is that their response time to being paged can sometimes take up to 45 minutes, even though they said it would be 2 to 5 minutes. Other than that, they offer activities for the residents, and the meals are decent. Overall, we're comfortable with the care she's receiving, and I'd recommend this place.

I'd totally recommend this place to my friends and family because it's well kept and has great features.

"Friendly Place but Needs More Staff Help"
About a month ago, our friend moved into the village. Since then, we've been figuring out what services she needs and trying to make them work for her. The place is nice and the staff are friendly. However, our friend needs the staff to be more assertive in helping her with showers and daily activities. She can be difficult sometimes but can be persuaded if the staff take the time.

I have to give this place the highest rating because they are excellent at everything they do. The facility looks amazing and is always very clean, with someone always cleaning. I really like the staff here; they have been very kind and helpful to us. The food is excellent, and they serve well-balanced meals. We are very pleased with everything at this community.

"Great Respite Care Experience"
My mom stayed at this place for a short time for respite care, and it was a good experience. From what I saw, the community is very clean, and my mom's room was always tidy. Most days, I noticed there were activities for the residents. They did a good job taking care of her while she was there.

"Mixed Feelings about Facility's Communication and Care Coordination"
Many of the residents I've met at this assisted living facility seem pretty content. They've got a lot of activities to keep their minds sharp and bodies active. Most of the staff seem to enjoy their jobs and it's clear it takes a special kind of person to take care of the elderly. However, my mom has been in their healthcare unit for almost two months and I'm not impressed by their communication. She's fallen three times since she's been there and nobody's called me about her recovery. Instead, I've received calls about moving her into an apartment without good instructions about how insurance factors in. Feels like they're putting the cart before the horse - the different parts of the facility don't seem to communicate well and aren't doing a good job of keeping families in the picture.

"Shortage of Staff and Accounting Mistakes at Assisted Living Facility"
The place is spotless and the food's good, but they don't have enough staff. My friend, who has both arms in casts, had to wait ages just to dress herself. And there seem to be some mistakes in their accounting, especially when it comes to filling orders and other things.

"Amazing care and improvement!"
My mother has changed so much since moving there. She’s really improved! I recently took her to a urologist who was amazed at her progress. The nursing staff and caregivers are excellent. They really take great care of her. I’ve told my son that when it’s my turn, I want to go to Rancho Vista. It’s a safe and secure place with amazing people. I visited a few places, and Rancho Vista is definitely the best. I was in tears during my first visit, thinking "there’s no way this place is as good as they say," but it really is!

"Caring Community with Friendly Staff and Good Services"
My mom and dad moved to Rancho Vista a month ago because their old place couldn't help my mom's memory needs. It's super clean there, and the staff is really nice. They even checked on my parents while I was there. When we were waiting for cable, the staff brought us food from the dining room, which was awesome. Both of them get help with their meds, which is a relief. Even though it costs more than their old place, I think they're getting the care they need and are safe. Dad loves the food. They haven't joined any activities yet, but there are lots to do. And there's transportation for outings and appointments. The only problem is the limited visitor parking, but resident parking is okay. Overall, I'm glad they're in this great community.

"20% SURPRISE INCREASE! UNFAIR TACTICS SPOILING MOM'S STAY!"
My initial score is the result of a sneaky "bait and switch" technique. They explained the costs to us, claiming a recent rate increase with the assurance of a stable cost scenario for the distant future. If any change, it would only be about 3 1/2%. Just 4 months in, after adapting to and enjoying the community, we get a shocking notice stating a forthcoming 20% increase in rent! Preposterous! We picked this place as it was affordable for a reasonable duration. However, this sky-high increase shortens that span significantly. Their excuse was linking the increase to the Affordable Care Act, food cost hikes, insurance, and so forth. Digging deeper, we connected with the Executive Director, who revealed the increasing similarity among all residents' rates as the cause. This was a revealing moment. My Mom enjoys her time here; the staff is friendly and the food is satisfying. However, she remains oblivious to the trickery going on.

"Lack of response from Marketing Director; Facility Average"
The marketing director never got back to me, so I couldn't visit the facility inside. From the exterior, the building seemed pleasant, but the arrangement seemed a bit complicated for residents to navigate, especially from the apartments to the dining and activity spaces. Rainy weather could pose an issue, but there was at least some shelter. On the upside, their prices were quite decent compared to others. The place was alright overall, but they didn't have a 2-bedroom when we needed one, and since the marketing director consistently failed to return my calls, I didn't pursue things further.

"Memory Care Tour: Pleasant Dining, Updated Rooms, Active Community"
I went on a tour on Tuesday, August 27th, at a memory care facility. It was really nice! The dining room was especially nice, and there were carports with storage, which is handy. Everything smelled nice and clean. There seemed to be more residents who were up and about, and fewer who needed walkers. The rooms had been updated, which was great to see. However, if you want a two-bedroom, they might only be for independent living and not close to the dining area. Also, there are hills and ramps around the place.
