"Unsatisfactory care and understaffing at Terraza Court."

I wouldn't suggest Terraza Court at all. I was forced to move [name] out after half a year due to low-quality care. There just wasn't a consistent level of support from the caregivers, particularly the temporary ones. They simply didn't have enough staff to properly look after the residents.

"Disappointment on Terraza Court Tour"

We took a tour of Terraza Court Senior Living and, just from that alone, we don't think it's good for others.

"Reasonably Priced Community with Very Nice Staff; Highly Recommended"

The people who work here are really friendly. I think it's a good choice. We chose this place because it seemed like the best option for my dad.

"Attentive Staff at Terraza Court"

We recommend Terraza Court. Staff were attentive to patient needs.

"Mixed experience, needs improvement."

My mom stayed 5 days, tough with COVID. Staffing issues hidden. Nice workers, but some temps weren't kind. Potential with fixes. Talk to regular workers in choosing.

"Clean and Caring Memory Care Facility"

My loved one stayed in memory care. The place was very clean, and the staff were caring. I'd recommend it.

"Friendly, welcoming community with engaging activities and great fit"

What really stood out to us was how friendly and welcoming the community feels. Everyone, from the staff to the residents, makes it a nice place. They offer activities like bingo to keep everyone engaged. We really like it here; it’s been a perfect fit for our family.

"Caring, Clean Assisted Living with Diverse Population"

We picked Terraza Court because it’s super clean, no bad smells. The staff is friendly, and the location is convenient. They have shared and private rooms. The staff really cares about residents, and I feel confident with my person there. I’d recommend it to others.

"Missed Resident Rooms in Virtual Tour"

We liked this place, but they didn't have enough Covid rules. Their virtual tour only showed common areas, not resident rooms. They never called us back.

"Meridian Assisted Living: Disappointing Tour Experience Demands Continued Search"

There are a few reasons our rating was only slightly above poor. Firstly, parking was a big problem - we had to leave the car by a school nearby. This was a real drag as our 87-year-old grandma uses a walker. Secondly, the person at the front desk seemed not to know we'd booked a tour. He said that the one staff member was already busy showing someone else around. It was annoying when we found out the previous appointment had been late and we got bumped. I was disheartened to have to wait half an hour just because they couldn't wait for us. I do give the receptionist kudos for doing his best in trying to provide us a tour himself - and he's only been there for 6 weeks. The rooms were all very similar, but he took us to see one with a broken fridge in the shower. We were told before we arrived we could have lunch, but nobody seemed prepared for that, either. The mess was largely cleared up by a staff member who stepped in to say sorry. We were left feeling like this place wasn't very well organized, and when they finally offered lunch, we chose to leave. Lastly, it worried me that there's only one elevator. What if it breaks down? Also, the building needs a fresh coat of paint, using brighter colors in the bedrooms, in particular. Additionally, there was a broken coffee machine in the entrance area which didn't help to make a good impression on us. More small things like this should be fixed before inviting potential residents to tour the facilities. As for my opinion, Meridian was kind of alright compared to other places like Sunrise and Welbrook, but we're not stopping our search there yet.

"Studio Falls Short of Expectations"

The Meridian only had a studio, not a full bedroom. I'd prefer at least a bedroom and sitting area.

"Cozy place, but high staff turnover and slow care times"

The place looks nice and cozy. But there's a big problem with staff always changing and it takes too long when you need care. They don't have enough workers and the ones that do care are too busy.

"Happy Community Hub"

My family member loves Meridian of Culver Village. It's bustling with friendly folks and helpful staff who follow up well. Food's okay, but there's variety. Lots to do - games, outings, and shows. They just made a big deck for relaxing. It's mostly clean, and they do laundry weekly, but room cleaning might slip. Overall, it's great, and my family member's happy.

"Staffing Woes Plague Assisted Living Facility"

My experience at this place was okay, but there were some problems. The cleanliness was inconsistent; sometimes it was good, other times not so much. They struggled to keep my loved one groomed, but I think that might have been because they didn't reassess his needs as he declined. When we first signed him up, he was at one level of care, but he needed more as time went on, and they didn't adjust. The staff turnover was really high, which meant we kept losing the people we'd formed bonds with. It seemed like the management couldn't keep the staff happy, which affected how they treated the residents. Keeping my loved one clean and his room tidy was tough, and he wasn't getting the help he needed with eating. Some good staff had to leave because they weren't happy. They really need to work on getting their staffing situation sorted out and being more organized. Overall, it wasn't the worst, but it definitely wasn't the best either. They tried, but they need to do better.

"Needs lots of improvements"

The room wasn't ready when we arrived. Caregivers lack professionalism. Mom feels scared due to neglectful behavior. Medication issues needed doctor's note for correction. Place looks amazing, feels like home to Mom. Food and dining experience are the best. Hoping for improvements.

"Serious Concerns Over Quality of Care at Assisted Living Facility"

Our family's experience with this assisted living community has been far from satisfactory. To kick things off, some urgent safety concerns were essentially ignored even after we requested for them to be fixed. Despite us making several friendships here, a common theme of disrespect towards the residents is palpable. Patient care falls short, with caregivers taking up to 30 minutes to respond to calls - downright irresponsible in case of emergencies. You can tell that the caregivers are not well-trained and lack empathy; their presence seems more about earning a paycheck than genuinely caring for the people. It's shocking how they appear okay with leaving residents unattended while on breaks, despite us paying hefty sums for round-the-clock care. Beyond that, they had the nerve to let my relative go without a shower for an entire week. Even with labeled clothing, my relative ends up in their roommate’s attire. The food, at the very least, is decent with various meal options available. We've had to practically babysit by watering plants on the porch because no one bothers to maintain the premises. Our communication with the director is marred by exceedingly slow response times. All things considered, I strongly advise against choosing this community.

"Clean and Spacious Assisted Living Tour"

I had a really good time checking out this place. The staff were punctual and super helpful with all my questions. The place was neat and tidy, and they had a big dining room and cool stuff. It just wasn't where we wanted to be in the end.

"Smooth Transition, Great Staff, Highly Recommend!"

My dad just moved into this place and things are going great! The people who work here are super nice and they really try hard to help him out. He's getting used to everything really well, and I'm happy to see him feeling good about living here. We don't have any problems right now, and I think it's a good place for anyone.

"Caring and Understanding Staff"

My dad stayed here before he passed away. We loved the place, and the staff were amazing and very understanding. They brought in a hospice nurse, so he could stay comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone.

"Tour Review: Small Room, High Cost, Poor Lighting"

The third-floor room they showed me was pretty tight. Besides, it was an expensive place and it didn't match my budget. I didn't appreciate how it was poorly lit around the place.

"Amazing Care and Cleanliness at The Meridian"

The Meridian was the nicest and cleanest of all the assisted living places my brother and I checked out for our mom. The staff were super kind and understanding when her condition got worse, and they worked really hard to find the best solution for her and our family. I couldn’t ask for better people. The facilities and food were also top-notch. Very happy with everything.

"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living Experience"

This place is pretty cool, but there are some things that bug me: The people who take care of us are really nice, but there aren't enough of them. Sometimes they mess up the menu, which is kind of annoying. The food is okay, but they serve the same stuff too much. For exercise and activities, they use some of us instead of experts.

"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living Facility"

The place is pretty nice, but there are some worries. It's not always super clean, but the staff said they'll fix it. They're fixing up the place, so I'll wait and see. The staff is nice and the people who live here are all different ages and backgrounds, which is good for my grandma. Overall, it's okay, but I wouldn't say you should go here right now.

"We Like This Place for Dad"

My dad moved here after we insisted he leave his home. I think my sisters and I are glad we did. At first, he was really upset and complained about everything. We spent a lot of time visiting and realized he just wanted to stay home and was saying things to make us feel guilty. We do feel a little guilty, but now he's much safer. He's eating well and staying active. I even think he's made a couple of friends. The leadership is dedicated to helping everyone, and the staff works with people who aren't always easy to help. They are like miracle workers. Our family is happy and we recommend this place.

"Assisted Living Facility Receives Praise Amid Remodeling"

Meridian at Culver Village is doing well for everyone. They’re currently renovating. He’s really happy there, and he usually isn’t happy anywhere except his own home. He really likes the staff there. He thinks the cost is fair. Overall, it’s been a good experience for him.

"Wouldn't Suggest This Understaffed, Unsafe Facility"

I can't suggest this place for memory patients. We were on a trip, gave them our number in case of emergencies. My mom fell from her bed, but they did not call us. It took them a while to help her. They said they would set up a meeting for us to talk about it, but that never happened. They need more workers. This place isn't safe.

"My Experience"

My mother has been at this facility for two months. She’s starting to understand why she’s here, but still talks about going home. I love the atmosphere and the staff that care for her. She has her own private room, which she likes, and prefers to eat there instead of joining group activities. She’s still a bit of a loner. Our family visits her every day, which helps her feel more settled. She even got her hair done, which she really enjoyed. At 95, I think she’s the oldest resident here, and we’ll celebrate her 96th birthday.

"Smooth Sailing at Meridian Assisted Living"

Everything is going well at Meridian at Culver Village. I really like the facility, and things are running smoothly here. I don't have any complaints.

"More Engagement Activities Needed"

I’m worried that they don’t try hard enough to involve people. But, my mom can only join in a little.

"Worst Assisted Living Facility Ever - Avoid At All Costs!"

This place is the absolute pits! My mom was stuck in their Meridan spot in Culver City, California where we had to pay an arm and a leg every month. And guess what? The workers there won't even bother to call us back. Apparently, they think my 90-year-old mom should bring her own toilet paper, because they won't provide it! They wouldn't even give her a second towel when she asked for it. And they're sloppy with her meds, despite us shelling out over $300 extra each month so they'll remember. And I'm just getting started. If you want to make sure your loved one is taken care of, this isn't the place. They don't care, and they don't know how to act professional; they take everything personally. We're super regretful we ever let her stay there. We tried to get in touch with their main office about all this, but all they did was pass us on to a local guy and he's about as helpful as a bad used car salesman - rude, full of lies, and hasn't done a single thing he said he would. This place is a total waste of time.

"Affordable and Caring Memory Care"

The Executive Director at Meridian Culver City is a great leader. My mom is in memory care and can’t join all the activities at the pricier place she was at for 4 years. Meridian is cheaper and has just as good staff. I do wish there were more activities for people with memory issues.

"Generally Good, Some Room for Improvement"

The place has been pretty responsive overall. The only problem we had was with our shared room. The other person had taken over the room, and it took about a month to fix. We didn't give them much notice before moving in, but they were very accommodating. That part could have been handled better. I don't think there are many complaints. They serve the same veggies all the time. But overall, we are happy with them, and she seems to be happy there. So far, everyone has been pretty receptive to everything.

"Caring Place in Culver City"

This place in Culver City is really cool. It's super clean and tidy. The food is delicious, and the dining area is fancy. But the best part is the staff; they're really nice and helpful. The only downside is that there isn't a lot of parking for visitors.

"Caring Staff and Tasty Meals in Clean Culver City Facility"

This place in Culver City is really clean and tidy. The food they serve is super yummy, and the dining room looks really nice. The best part is the staff they're really kind and caring. Only thing is, there's not a lot of parking for visitors.

"Caring and Attentive Staff, Clean Community, Great Food"

For the short time Mom has been there, the staff has been very nice, attentive, and caring. The community is clean and well-maintained. They have activities to keep everyone busy. The food is very good. When I brought Mom back late from the doctor's, the meal time was over, but they made a special meal for her. The staff makes sure Mom gets signed up for outings and shopping, which can be hard for her to do on her own.

"Terrible Treatment by New Kitchen Supervisor at Meridian Culver Village"

Meridian Culver Village recently brought in a fresh face to oversee the kitchen. My mom lives in this place. The new in-charge is causing a lot of unnecessary turmoil. He shouts at workers, spreads hurtful gossip, and isn't treating everyone fairly. It's a shocking situation. You might want to think twice before considering this place.

"Shoddy conditions and distasteful food at Meridian Village!"

Some workers at Meridian at Culver Village are full of effort, but others are awfully unprofessional and need to be replaced. My overall experience was quite dreadful. Each visit found my mother and her room tainted with smells of urine and feces. Her living conditions were so appalling, no visitors braved the stench. The food provided was disgusting, and some of it was questionable at best. I could endlessly recount the their disheartening situations my mom went through in this shoddy place. To say the least, I have successfully moved my mother from that dreadful location!

"They're okay for the price."

They're okay. They're really cheap, so I'm not too disappointed. But when I check on my mom, they don't share much info. Cleanliness and friendly staff are fine, though.

"Friendly staff, clean place, great food, and affordable prices!"

Great improvements! The staff was friendly, and the place was clean. Their marketer was very professional and helped my family through this process. The food is delicious, and the residents are happy. The location is great, and I couldn't believe their prices for all they offer. I highly recommend this place.

"Highly recommend: Friendly staff, clean, improved under new administrator"

I went for a tour because I had been looking for a long time for the right place for my mother. I was told about this place about a year ago, and they’ve really made a lot of improvements. When I first walked in, the smell of fresh cookies caught my attention. The place was very clean, and the staff looked happy and friendly. I was greeted by their marketer, who was very helpful and seemed to know a lot. She explained everything in detail. I also talked to a few residents, and they all said how much they loved living there. I highly recommend it! Their new administrator has made some great changes, and the staff clearly love working there. I give Meridian of Culver Village two thumbs up!

"Unhappy Staff and Poor Conditions at Meridian Culver"

Meridian Culver seemed like a nice place for my family member at first. But we noticed a messy garden and dirty floors right as we arrived. Despite the staff being nice and friendly, they appeared really unhappy. The food was terrible, so I'd caution anyone from sending their loved ones here.

"Improvements and Kind Staff Brighten Assisted Living Experience"

Just wanted to say that things are better lately at the place where my mom stays. They've been fixing it up, adding more plants and pictures, and it looks nicer. The people who take care of my mom are really nice and helpful, especially considering she can be grumpy sometimes. And my mom likes the food more now, so they must have made it better. Oh, and I forgot to say before that my mom was worried about getting her hair done by someone new, but the lady who does it on Wednesdays is great, and my mom's happy with her.

"Friendly Staff, But Some Care Issues Resolved"

The employees are friendly and very helpful. There were times when my mother wasn’t cleaned properly. I talked to the administrator and it got better. They do work with you to take care of your loved one. My mother has dementia and was placed in Memory Care. She didn’t like it at first. After 5 months, she is more cooperative and seems to have settled in.

"Friendly Staff but Needs Better Upkeep"

My mom has been living here for a few months in the assisted living section (not memory care). The good things: 98% of the staff is super friendly, helpful, and genuinely caring. They also try to offer a good variety of activities. The bad things: the physical upkeep of common areas, especially the hallway carpets, is not great. When my mom first moved in, everything looked much nicer - it must have just been cleaned. I understand it's hard to keep things spotless, but big stains on the carpets stay for weeks. My mom finds it very depressing and feels like she's living in a third-rate hotel. Certain repairs (like damaged molding in the elevator) don't get fixed quickly - I don't think management realizes how discouraging this is for residents. Also, the only outdoor space is a large patio which isn't very attractive and needs some professional landscaping - it could be nice. They might have to charge more for better upkeep, but the prices are pretty reasonable. On the other hand, they have some empty units that would probably get filled if the place made a better first impression. NOTE - they say there's individual climate control in the rooms, but that's not true.

"Friendly and Attentive Assisted Living with Good Food and Parking"

This place is really nice and the people are super friendly and helpful. It's a good deal for such a nice place to live. The food is tasty too. It was perfect for my family member because if it was fancier or had more things to do, it wouldn’t have been right for her. Sometimes parking is a problem because of street sweeping once a week, but it's not a big deal and you might have to park a little farther away.

"Really Great Location but Lacks Some Personal Touches"

The location of this assisted living facility is top-notch. I appreciated that the memory care section has a space outdoors. Visited during the night, and found the two workers present quite supportive. I don't know if my Dad really needs what is being offered here plus there's just a shared shower space. I couldn't get a look at the menu or schedule of activities, but to be fair, I popped in at a slightly weird time. The place was neat, but rather bare.

"Not Fancy Enough for My Mom"

The place seemed okay, but I know my mom would want something nicer. The staff was really, really nice and polite when I talked to them. They showed me around, and I thought it was a nice place. However, my mom is used to a higher level of luxury, so I felt it might not be fancy enough for her.

"Uncertain Care Quality, Leadership at Family-Friendly Assisted Living Facility"

You know, it's still early days, and I kinda like the place, but I'm not sure if they really deliver the support they advertise. The head honcho left just one week after my mom moved in, and they've yet to fill the spot. We now have an extra caregiver popping in to look after mom until they clear up the leadership mess. I was at the place most of the week before we moved mom in and got to know the people there. They all seem pretty nice. Even so, the activities director took off for maternity leave so there weren't any activities for mom when she moved in. Can't fault them for that; it's a normal part of life.

"Spoke with Director, Found Diverse, Elderly Residents at Quiet Facility"

I spoke with the facility's manager on May 14th. The residents here are varied in their ages, capabilities, and backgrounds, with some even being employed. The average resident is 80 years old. It's interesting to note that this is the only privately-owned facility in the area. The staff here are well-coordinated. A number of residents have been living here for many years. If there are no special assistance needs, the monthly fee is $2400. When I visited in May, it felt quite peaceful -- perhaps a bit too serene. Most of the residents seemed very aged and weren't in public spaces.
