"Park Merced: A Good Choice for Mom!"
Park Merced is a great place for my mom. The only downside is that the food could be a bit better, according to her. Some fixtures need updating, like the room's carpeting, which should be replaced or cleaned regularly. Also, the restroom faucet needs replacing. Despite these minor issues, it's still a good place.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvements but Shows Promise"
This place is really big. If your family member needs help getting to the dining room, it costs an extra $500. They serve a lot of sandwiches and soup for dinner, which isn't really a balanced meal. They just got over a covid outbreak too. We think they can do better, but we're staying hopeful.

"Amazing Staff and Great Food!"
Here's the rewritten review: --- My husband has good days and bad days, but the staff here is always amazing with him. The food is really good; I've eaten there myself. The caregivers are very prompt and helpful. They have one caregiver for every nine patients, which is great. The supervisor, has been very helpful in working with me to find solutions. I can't say enough good things about this place.

"Needs Updates and More Modern Touches"
The man who welcomed us was super friendly. The place felt kind of old-fashioned. The living spaces weren’t as great as what we’ve seen elsewhere. Plus, the room they showed us really needs a new carpet and some new paint. They didn’t tell us they’d be fixing it up. The folks living there seemed pretty old, and many used wheelchairs, not just walkers like in other places.

"Facility lags behind, requires renovations"
The person who welcomed us was pleasant. However, this place seemed older and less modern compared to other places nearby. The living spaces weren't as comfortable or appealing. Moreover, the room we visited definitely needed a new carpet and some paint. They didn't tell us that these updates were planned. It also seemed that more residents were using wheelchairs, which contrasted with the predominance of walkers at other places.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
I went there around 2 years ago, and they were friendly, but the staff seemed a bit distant. I checked out the activities, but it didn't feel like a place I'd want to live or work.

"Mixed Feelings, Not My Top Choice"
I went to that place like 2 years ago. It was alright, but the people working there seemed kinda distant. I checked out what they had going on and stuff, but it didn't give me the warm fuzzies. Wouldn't really wanna live or work there.

"Great place with a minor issue handled well"
I have been really impressed with Park Merced. My father-in-law is staying there and doing very well. The place is very clean, and the staff are all very happy. There was one time when they gave him the wrong medication, and he had to go to the hospital. Everyone makes mistakes, but they handled it very well. Other than that one incident, everything about them has been great.

"Welcoming staff, great care, and quick responses"
They made my mother feel very welcome when she moved in. They personally introduced themselves so she knew everyone. They are great at making sure she gets her medications and meals on time. Whenever she needs anything, they respond quickly. Overall, it's been a great experience, and I highly recommend them.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Better Care and Communication"
My dad, who has memory problems, stayed there for 12 days. Staff was nice, place was clean, food was good. But some caregivers need to be more observant and sensible. My dad had a problem with his catheter, but the caregiver didn’t notice. It leaked onto the carpet and smelled bad. They didn’t clean it properly. I had to do it myself. When I complained, they finally took action, but it was too late. My dad had to go to the hospital. I trusted this place, but now I’m worried.

"A single unpleasant incident tarnished the facility's reputation"
Sadly, my dad, who suffers from dementia, was only at the assisted living facility for 12 days before he became very ill and had to be moved to a hospital and later a nursing home. The facility was really nice - the staff was friendly, the place was clean and bright, and the meals were fresh and healthy. However, I think they can do much better when it comes to using common sense and being more observant in taking care of the residents. My dad had a problem with his catheter leaking and the caregiver did not notice it. The urine soaked into the carpet, mixing with chemicals and causing a really bad smell. The caregiver refused to clean it up and I had to do it myself. Even though a housekeeping team was scheduled to do a deep cleaning, it didn't happen because the caregiver didn't fill out a work order. The carpet remained smelly until I visited on Wednesday and, upset with the situation, got the work order filled out. My dad was taken to the hospital that same day and never returned. Despite receiving positive recommendations and my satisfaction with the facility after two visits and interactions with other residents and staff, this incident upset me and reconsidered their capabilities.

"Friendly Director & Spacious Rooms with Independence & Activities"
I met with the director on Friday. He knew every client's name and greeted them warmly. The room was big, with its own bathroom and kitchenette. Clients were encouraged to decorate with pictures. There was enough space for a large bed and a couch too. It was clean and tidy. Rooms facing the interior courtyard cost a bit more, but they could have plants in pots. Residents could enjoy independence when they wanted it. There were plenty of activities to participate in. The dining room was conveniently close by.
