Royal Oaks

"Royal Oaks: Best Assisted Living in San Gabriel Valley"
My mom lived at Royal Oaks for the last 10 years of her life (she was 95!). The place is always clean, especially during flu season. When the crisis hit, Royal Oaks acted fast. They gave food to everyone in their rooms to avoid groups. I had to bring paperwork to a client there recently. They checked my temperature, made me wear gloves and a mask, and fill out a health report. They have 3 levels of care, which is awesome! My mom used all 3 but never had to move to a new place. She knew the grounds, the hairdresser, and the staff. The staff is amazing. The young people serving in the dining room are super polite and helpful. The grounds are beautiful, the food is great, and the staff is very caring and helpful. I've visited many retirement homes in the San Gabriel Valley, and Royal Oaks is the best!

"Top-Notch Care and Beautiful Grounds"
The staff are super helpful and even found a service to help mom move in. She loves the food and the dining room is really nice. They're fixing up some things, and the grounds are beautiful. The apartments are big and comfy. The residents are friendly, outgoing, and happy. They really go out of their way to make new people feel welcome. I would recommend this place.

"Beautiful, Inclusive Community with Great Food and Cleanliness"
Even though my dad speaks Spanish, the staff at this place have really gone out of their way to include him in conversations and activities, which was my biggest worry. The community is beautiful, it's very clean, and the food is fantastic.

"Great Place with Responsive Staff Despite Minor Maintenance Issues"
Royal Oaks gets a thumbs up. My parents are really happy there. Their stove isn't working, and there are a few maintenance problems, but the staff are on it and seem to be doing their best. This place is awesome.

"Beautiful Gardens and Active Community Create Serene Assisted Living Environment"
I really like walking through gardens and beautiful areas, so when I first visited Royal Oaks, I was immediately impressed. Inside the gated community, you can walk about a mile, and there’s a community track across the street where you can walk several miles. There are many lovely trees and plants here where birds sing, squirrels play, rabbits are seen, and horses are kept on nearby ranches. Some of my neighbors walk every day, which is enjoyable. Some of them use walkers to help them get around. If I ever need a walker, I hope I can still enjoy living in this lovely place.

"Community Walking"
I've always liked strolling through gardens and pleasant areas. When I first saw Royal Oaks, I felt really positive. Inside the gated community, you can walk about a mile, or across the street on the community track, you can cover several miles. There are lots of beautiful trees and plants here, where birds sing, squirrels play, and you might even spot rabbits and horses from nearby ranches. Some of my fellow residents enjoy walking, too. And if I ever need a walker, I hope I can still enjoy this lovely home.

"Beautiful Campus and Friendly Community"
When we first saw the stone gates of Royal Oaks, we knew this place had the charm we were looking for. It looked like a small, beautifully landscaped college campus. Our first impressions were confirmed when we entered the lobby. We asked if we could walk around, and the young lady in charge did even better. She had a staff member show us around the campus and the apartments. Friendly residents greeted us with open doors. Those positive first impressions brought us back from Long Island, New York, to the lovely cottage we now enjoy at Royal Oaks, Bradbury, California.

"What I Love About Living at Royal Oaks"
My husband and I lived in a big house until he got tired of yard work. So, we looked for a new place and when we visited Royal Oaks, he said, "We don't need to look anywhere else." He loved it here, joining in on activities and the gift shop. After he passed away, I moved to a smaller unit on campus, the D-floor, which is beautiful! I enjoy being around others. I don't like eating alone, so I appreciate the company here. Our activities director plans so many events for us, so there’s always something to do. I love our library and the clinic in the main building where there’s always someone to help. We also have guest rooms for visitors when needed. We are surrounded by wildlife, close to the city but still feel like we’re in the country. The staff is very supportive and always ready to help. The food here is much better than I could cook, and the servers do everything they can to make us happy. Many employees are from the Monrovia/Duarte area, and there are various interest groups, from crocheters to animal lovers. My advice is to bring only what you need and like when you move in. If you have things to give away, do it. I’m very happy living at Royal Oaks—definitely five stars!

"My Opinion of Royal Oaks Is Very High"
My wife and I checked out several senior residences out of curiosity. Her mom had lived in one before she passed away. My wife volunteered there for years, so she knew what they offered. We wanted a cozy, homey place, not an institutional one. After some falls and hospital stays, we decided to explore again. We visited three lovely places nearby, but Royal Oaks impressed us the most. The well-kept grounds felt safe and welcoming. We saw different apartments, all attractive and suitable. The salesperson said they could customize them for new residents. The front desk person was friendly and capable, making us feel at home. The lobby, great room, and dining area were impressive. No worries about hosting guests there. Their holiday brunches were fit for royalty. The staff, from management to service, were competent, polite, and cheerful. Royal Oaks stayed spotless, and the other residents were great neighbors. Plus, they had skilled nursing and assisted living options on-site—a huge benefit.

"Living My Best Life at Royal Oaks"
As a 77-year-old widow with no family nearby, I made the tough choice to leave my beloved home and move to Royal Oaks. I didn't want to face a lonely future with just a caretaker. Four years later, I haven't regretted it for a single moment. I have security, companionship, fun activities, intellectual challenges, and volunteer opportunities, all in a beautiful setting. I'm thriving, living my Third Act, and enjoying every stress-free day. The hard decisions are behind me, and now it's time to enjoy and be all that I can be.

"Beautiful facility with active community, lacks memory care, higher cost."
This place is stunning. I enjoyed the library and spoke with happy residents. The grounds are lovely, especially Mom having her own garden. They have a duck pond and offer water aerobics and many activities. However, they don't provide memory care for my dad in the future. The residents are active and engaged, like a close-knit community. It seems to require a higher financial commitment compared to Westminster.

"Beautiful Place with Lots of Activities"
This place was beautiful. I loved the library. I talked to some residents who loved it here. The grounds are beautiful too – I really liked that Mom could have her own garden area. There's a duck pond! They have water aerobics and lots of activities. But they don’t have memory care for Dad later on. The residents are very involved in their own community, like with the boutique. There are lots of very active seniors here. It's a little more expensive than Westminster.
