"Careful Consideration Needed Before Choosing Assisted Living"
This place might be good for some people. If your loved one is quiet, doesn't need much mental activity, and likes a cozy atmosphere, it could work. Another place might be bigger and better laid out. The staff are really caring, but they might not know how to handle everyone. Here's what you'll see if you visit: - They say they serve fancy meals, but really it's just stuff from the store. - They hardly ever take residents out for trips. - The showers are shared, and sometimes you have to go through someone's room to get to them. - They say they have special food days, but it's not very often. - There aren't many fun things to do besides watching TV, mostly the news. - If someone doesn't act like they want, they call the doctor and give more medicine. They charge one price and they care, but they need more training, especially for people with memory problems. Also, sometimes the owner exaggerates things. I had to choose quickly, but if you need memory care, find a place that knows how to help. If you don't need memory care, the staff here are nice.
