"Mixed Experience: Friendly Staff, Stained Carpets in 3-Week Stay"
Staff at the facility were really nice to everyone. The carpets in the hallways, though, were very stained which was disappointing. It's worth noting that I was only there for 3 weeks for respite care.

Toured Skyline Place, nice but not ideal for alone time.

"Understaffed Assisted Living Falls Short on Promised Care"
They didn't have enough staff, so they couldn't give the care they promised in their plan. Laundry, bathing, and cleaning were often skipped due to staffing problems.

"Short-staffed, some caution advised, potential for improvement."
The assisted living place doesn't have enough workers. I might tell other families to think about it.

"Warm staff, but admin needs better communication."
The staff members are warm and engage well with the residents. Those who work closely with our loved one have developed a strong bond with the residents. However, it sometimes feels like the administration hides behind closed doors. They could improve their communication and follow-through.

"Poor Response and Neglected Elderly Care at Assisted Living"
This place might not be suitable if your loved one has serious daily care needs. My mom who lived there had a dog, but nobody helped walk it, leaving her surrounded by a dog mess. She lost a significant amount of weight and after a fall, ambulances had to pick her up. We never heard from the facility about her condition and our numerous emails went unanswered, even when we included senior management in the communication. We specifically wanted her needs reevaluated because she was in their memory care program. Maybe this place could still work for those without memory care needs, but it didn't deliver the extra care needed for someone struggling with dementia. Although it's more affordable, what you pay is reflected in the care provided.

"Great Assisted Living with Caring Staff"
The food is okay, but the cookies are fantastic. The noon meal or dinner is the best. The staff is caring and nice, which is a bonus. My parents enjoy the activities. The cost is standard, though it’s pricey. We chose this community because it’s close to family and familiar. I’d recommend it to other families.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
It's tough for me to share because I wasn't allowed in the place. My mom was supposed to stay in the memory care section, and they kept charging me for her showers. She only took two showers in the four months she was there, but they charged me every single week. When we moved her out, her room was a mess. Her clothes weren't put away, they didn't use the mattress we sent, and she was given rough sheets instead of the ones we provided. They even lost one set of sheets and didn't replace them. They promised to reimburse me, but they haven't. They advertise letting family visit to prevent decline, but they never offered that to me, even when I complained. Her prescriptions were left out in the open, and only one out of thirty was taken.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Positive Experience with Room for Improvement"
My main reason for writing this is because of the negative reviews I've seen here. I moved my mom there about 2 years ago. None of these places are perfect, but overall, I think they do a good job and I'd give them a B. The food is good and residents and their guests all choose from a menu. You can eat in the dining room or in a private family dining area. Guests cost $10 each. The chef, is open to new recipes, and once a month, the staff meets with residents to see what meals they'd like. There are lots of activities on site and trips to many places for those who want to go. I've found the staff to be quick to help, polite, and professional all the time. The nurses usually know what I need before I do. I expect good service and I'm willing to pay for it. See if you can find something better.

"A Different Perspective on Assisted Living"
My main reason for writing this is the bad reviews I've seen here. I placed my mom there about 2 years ago. None of these places are perfect, but I think they do a good job. I’d give them a B. The food is good (I've eaten there many times) and residents and their guests can order from a menu. They can eat in the dining room or a private family dining room. Guests are $10 each. The chef is open to new recipes, and once a month the staff has a dining meeting with the residents to ask what meals they’d like. There are lots of events on site and trips to many places for those who want to go. I’ve found the staff to be responsive, courteous, and professional at all times. The nursing staff is usually one step ahead of me. I expect good service and am willing to pay for it. Try and find something better.

"Skyline: Understaffed assisted home failing on basic tasks"
My mom, a resident at Skyline Place Independent Living for over three years, will soon be relocating. The facility is woefully understaffed, unable to perform even the most basic tasks like checking on her every morning and disposable underwear disposal. As a result, her apartment has an undesirable and unbearable odor reminiscent of a cat lady's home. Regrettably, my numerous messages to the person in charge, have been met with silence. When I eventually get through to her, she claims she never received the message. It's now gotten to the point where I'm forced to warn the individual relaying the message that they'll be held responsible if fails to receive it. Despite the extra fee my mother pays for these services, I find myself repeatedly calling and strongly expressing my dissatisfaction about the lack of checks and non-disposal of her disposable underwear. I've escalated my complaints to the local Ombudsman, and her case is now being referred to the state. This place genuinely leaves a lot to be desired, causing me to believe no elderly individual should be subjected to such blatant disregard of their basic needs.

"Neglectful Assisted Living Facility Failing Elderly Residents"
My mom has resided at Skyline Place Independent Living for over three years. However, we're planning to relocate her as soon as we can. This establishment is short-staffed and struggles with basic responsibilities such as checking on her in the morning and changing her Depends. As a result, her apartment has an unpleasant odor, making it unlivable. I have tried to address this issue numerous times with, the person in charge, but my efforts have been futile. She never returns my calls or acknowledges receiving my messages. I'm left with no choice but to blame the messenger every time my complaints go unheard. I'm also finding myself having to nag them daily to look after her and change her Depends, even though she's paying additional charges for these services. I've complained to the Ombudsman and her case is being forwarded to the state. Simply put, this place is dreadful and no elderly person should have to endure such neglect of their basic needs.

"Friendly and Helpful Staff in a Great Community"
At first, my mother-in-law had some trouble adjusting, but now she's doing well. She's getting more involved in activities and loves the food. Our family is very happy with the community. It's a nice place, and the staff is very friendly. Her housekeepers come in once a month to change her bed linens and once a week to clean her studio apartment. The staff is always on top of things. She has locked herself out of her apartment a few times, and they are always willing to let her in. She also forgot her walker once, and they let her borrow one when she got downstairs. I would recommend this community to anyone. I've also talked to other families of residents, and they agree.

"Not worth it: Inadequate Assisted Living Home Disappoints Family"
While the assisted living home is neat and the workers are cheery, it lacks stimulating activities for my mom. The food is underwhelming, and they don't even share it with visiting families. My mom's been complaining about the dismal quality of food. Strangely, there's no hot water for tea and the kitchen remains locked between meal periods. There's no chance to get a cup of coffee when anyone desires one. On a recent visit, despite my mom needing low-sodium meals, they gave her salty potato chips. We've had to resort to Meals on Wheels for half the week. The dining zone is chaotic, with other residents dealing with dementia causing disturbances. My mom will be moving from there shortly. It's distressing to see that we're not getting our money's worth. We're not pleased at all with this assisted living home.

"Lack of Help and Unresolved Issues at Skyline"
Skyline might look great on the outside with its tidy surroundings and friendly faces, but it's really pricey. That's not even my main problem though. There are some issues that they've just left hanging. For example, they have a serious issue with the staff that's been reported but not dealt with for almost three months now. Then, there's what happened with my dad. He was feeling short of breath and kept pressing his alert button, but nobody responded. He ended up shouting for help and it took an hour before anyone came to help him. They had to rush him to the hospital. When he was ready to go home on the 24th, the hospital called Skyline to arrange his ride back, but they didn't provide one.

"New Home, So Far So Good"
This place is nice. I like it here more than anywhere else I've been. No big problems yet. It's only been a bit over a month, so I'd give it a cautious four stars for now. If things stay good for a couple more months, it'll be a five.

"Frustrating Experiences Highlight Skyline Place's Downfalls"
I usually avoid being negative, but my frustration with Skyline Place has reached a high point. My parents have lived there for a year and a half. While there are kind and gentle staff members, there are also significant issues like poor communication and rising costs. The director takes forever to fix problems. Packages for my parents have been delivered to the wrong room three times, and scheduled services like bathing rarely happen on time. Several services that were originally included have been taken away, but the monthly fee stays the same. The food, which used to be amazing, is now just average. Our biggest issue is that we don't have other options for assisted living in our area. Honestly, I can't recommend Skyline Place to anyone.

"Drastic Price Hike in Assisted Living Facility, Extra Costs Abound"
Too expensive! They make you pay extra for everything - including bringing food to rooms, using a wheelchair, and even help with dressing. These costs all go beyond the regular price, which has already increased twice within one year! The base price was initially around $4,300, but it's now jumped to over $6,000!
