"Negative Review About Rude, Unresponsive Employee in Admissions"
I can't even give this place a single star. There's this worker who acts like she owns the whole place. We've tried calling her countless times and even got our social worker to contact her, but she never picks up the phone. She's incredibly rude, and because she's in charge of admissions, she acts way too important and has really bad manners. I really hope the manager or the director takes note of this. She seems to think she's on top of the world. Her name is from admissions.

"Poor care and awful food in assisted living facility"
The people in charge of the nurses barely mention it when they accidentally drop a patient. Also, the food here is really bad...

"Memory Care Activities Stand Out; Wheelchair Access Limited"
I was really looking forward to checking out St. John of God, but I ended up feeling a bit let down. The thing is, their Memory Care building isn't set up for folks in wheelchairs. If you're using one, you have to stay in their Skilled Nursing building, which feels more like a hospital. On the bright side, the Activities Director for Memory Care really knows their stuff and keeps things running smoothly. That alone makes it worth considering, especially since their prices are more reasonable compared to other places.

"Great activities and a lovely garden to enjoy!"
This place keeps me really busy, and I love all the fun things to do here. The outdoor garden is my favorite spot to sit in the sun, read a book, or chat with other residents. The food is pretty good, too, with nice choices if I want something different. I’ve even started to gain back some weight I lost in the hospital. Plus, there's a nice exercise room. I appreciate that they help me keep track of my medications and make sure I check in and out when I go somewhere.

"A Positive Choice"
The staff here are really friendly, encouraging, and great. My mom has made friends and enjoys joining in on some of the daily activities. The food is good, with lots of choices. The community is clean and well-maintained. Plus, it’s a non-profit, so they don’t nickel and dime you. I’ve already recommended this place.

"Outstanding care for a loved one."
This is a great community. The staff is caring and helpful. We were glad to see that she is active and knows many other residents. My aunt shares interests with others here. It feels like home, and she enjoys her balcony. This is a new community, and they don't charge extra for medications or cleaning. We recommend this community to other families for excellent care and great value.

"Staff Are Patient and Understanding, Key for Us"
Moving my dad to this place has been a great choice. He seems comfortable and well taken care of. We really like this community because there are plenty of staff for the number of residents, and everyone is patient and understanding. That's what matters most to us.

"Great Community Experience!"
My cousin feels great since joining the community. She loves it here, and everything is going well. I’ve recommended it to other family members too. Her husband lives in the Assisted Side and visits her. When we first brought her, she thought she was in Las Vegas! Overall, she’s very happy, and I’m pleased with the care. The facility is beautiful, and we chose it because of its convenient location for our family.

"I have no regrets! This place is great."
So far, we’ve had a good experience. It’s a bit pricey, but you really get a lot for what you pay. My mom likes it a lot, and they offer everything. There’s a pool, a tennis court, and a clinic in each building. The staff is fantastic. The whole atmosphere is really nice, with a chapel for all religions. They even have a memory care building that looks like an apartment and offers more one-on-one care. No matter how sick you get or if you need to move there, the price stays the same; it’s all inclusive. The people who work here matter most to me, and they have been very kind. They let my mom help her get settled, and she said there wasn’t one mean face there—both the staff and residents are just very happy. I do wish they serviced Kaiser a bit more, but they’ve been great about working with us on that. If I could wish for something, it would be that the food is a bit more seasoned, and the shuttle service is a little limited and scheduled. But those are just minor things. I have no regrets! This place is great.

"Mixed feelings about assisted living; strict medication and alcohol policies."
We just brought Mom here four days ago. So far, it's been alright. They won't let you keep your own medicine; you have to wait in line for a nurse to give it to you. It feels embarrassing. They don't allow any alcohol, so if you have a bottle, you'll have to hide it.

"Elder Haven Palace"
We recently admitted Mom to the assisted living facility. It’s been okay so far. They don’t let you manage your own medications—you have to wait in line for the nurse to give them to you. It feels a bit embarrassing. Also, no alcohol is allowed, so you’ll need to hide your bottle.

"Great place! Very caring staff!"
It was very organized and clean, with a nice smell, not just covering up odors. The staff were professional, and the size was nice. Everyone looked well cared for. The grounds are beautiful and quiet, but there’s still activity. Having a skilled nursing facility nearby is a plus. The marketing woman, Kirstin, understood 'conversational dementia'—people who seem normal but have serious issues. It felt different from other places I visited. I would definitely choose this place for my father if needed.

"Beautiful, College-Like Campus"
St. John’s is a lovely place. It feels like a small college campus. The whole area is open and airy. My dad spends most of his time sitting outside. It’s very peaceful. My dad’s room is simple but just right for him. He has big windows that look out onto the courtyard. Even if we could choose any room, we wouldn’t pick a different one. The staff is amazing, kind, and caring. The place is close to Downtown, South Park, West Adams, and USC. I can bike there in about 10 minutes. My brother and I feel very lucky to have found this place for our dad. His health and happiness have gotten so much better since he moved in.
