"Disorganized Assisted Living with Inadequate Care Management and Training"
Sun City Gardens is really messy and doesn't have any good systems to take care of the people in the Memory Care unit. The people in charge seem very stressed and can't make the changes that are needed. The boss of the place changed 3 times in the 7 months my husband was there. Now there's a new one again, so that's 4 bosses in 8 months. The people who take care of the residents aren't trained well to handle their behavior. At least 4 of them don't understand English very well, but almost everyone who lives there speaks English. The way the building is set up isn't very good. Sometimes, two caregivers will go into one room to clean a resident and close the door, leaving everyone else alone. I went to visit a few times and couldn't find a caregiver for 30 minutes. The residents are all crowded together in the one room where they watch TV, which causes problems, especially when there's no caregiver around. This was my first time dealing with a place like this. I've learned a lot. Sun City Gardens was near my house, and most of the workers were trying their best...

"Meal Shortage and No Internet: Not Recommended"
The place doesn’t serve the meals they promise on the menu. Instead, they’re just handing out sandwiches. Plus, the residents can’t get online right now. I wouldn’t suggest it.

"Manager's Privacy Policy Needs Improvement"
The person in charge shouldn't share residents' info except the one who signed. The studio was clean, employees were helpful, but the manager's behavior was disappointing.

"Aged building suited for budget-conscious elderly, near busy freeway."
This place looked pretty old and better for someone with not a lot of money. It was close to a really busy road.

I really like the care at this community. The staff are attentive and care about her needs. The menu has lots of healthy meals, and it's great that she's involved in the activities they offer. I recommend this community for your loved one's care.

"So Happy We Chose This Place"
Since moving Mom here, her life has improved. She enjoys dining with friends, thanks to the wonderful staff and impeccable housekeeping. The lovely gardens outside mask its assisted living nature.

"Unsatisfied With Unreliable and Overpriced Community"
We didn't really enjoy our tour of this place. When we entered, we were met with a strong smell of pee. Most of the staff were pretty nice, but the guy who runs the place was a bit tricky. He told us one price when showing us around, but then raised it later on and acted like he hadn't done that. Anyway, it didn't matter much because the costs were way too high for us. We really wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.

"Great Community, but Meals Could Be Better"
The move went well, and the community is nice. I'm grateful to A Place For Mom for helping me find it. Since I don’t have other places to compare it with, I think the people here and the staff are great. However, the meals aren’t very good. They lack freshness because they are prepared before arriving at the community. This might be normal for retirement communities, and it’s a change for me, but it’s not unpleasant.

"Great Staff, Outdated Facilities"
I recently explored this assisted living community for consideration as a potential future home for my mother. Though the staff was indeed kind and professional throughout our tour, the overall ambiance of the place didn't appeal to me. All aspects of the facility seemed dim and aging, including the walls, carpets, and individual bedrooms. The place is in dire need of an upgrade. Given its current state, I couldn't visualize my mom residing here.

"Excellent care, affordable, and highly recommended!"
This is the best place! Everything my Advisor from A Place for Mom told me was spot on. I tell everyone about this place. It's cheaper than other places around, and the care is fantastic.

"Good choice, but needs some improvements"
The staff care isn't always the same. Sometimes there are enough people, sometimes there aren't. I know my mom isn't the only resident, and they usually respond pretty fast. They have activities, but she doesn't join them. She likes the food sometimes, but not always. We picked this place because it's close to my house.

"Disappointment with Staff's Lack of Organization!"
I felt let down when I took time away from my other commitments to visit this community for my mom, and found out upon arrival that no one was there to show us around. They seemed to have overlooked our scheduled meeting and asked us to return after an hour. While the staff made attempts to fix it, I had already made up my mind and chosen another facility at that point.

"“Positive Experience at Sun City Gardens”"
Since my loved one moved to Sun City Gardens, things have been going well. He seems okay, although he doesn’t like the food. The place is super clean during my visits. Most of the time, he stays in his room, occasionally going for walks but not joining any activities. The staff is friendly, helping him with medication, showers, and apartment cleaning. Overall, he’s happy.

"Still Settling; Medical Concerns Present"
Our family is still getting used to this living place. Generally, we're happy with it, but there are some issues. My mom caught an infection and I'm not so sure about how the nurses are dealing with it. We're considering other options, but hopefully, things will get better over time.

"Mom’s Happy Home Away From Home"
At the beginning, I wasn’t sure about this place, but my mom really likes it here. It’s great because she gets to meet a lot of people who are the same age as her and they all hang out together. They don’t charge too much money for all the things they do here, and the people who work here, like the staff and the bosses, really care about the folks living here.

"The Worst Memory Care - No Freedom and Persistent Bad Smell"
My mother was under the 'memory care' aspect of this facility and I simply cannot express my disappointment. The condition of the place was deplorable. An offensive smell lingered persistently, which was in no way suitable for any elderly residents. Moreover, the residents were not given the liberty to roam around the premises. My mother, who was quite fond of walking, found this particularly suffocating. On the rare occasions they were allowed, it was always under close supervision. There were several other issues that tarnished our experience with this place. I strongly advise anyone considering this facility to be vigilant and conduct impromptu checks regularly.

"This felt like home."
Sun City Gardens was my first visit when searching for a place for my brother. Looking back, I wish I'd trusted my initial impression and saved time exploring other options. The staff at Sun City Gardens are incredibly friendly and helpful, creating a warm atmosphere from the start. Everywhere I looked, things were well-maintained and smelled pleasant. The gardens are lovely and provide a very relaxing environment.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Moving to this assisted living facility was tough at first. The main nurse is still getting used to her new role, which makes things a bit tricky for us too. Sometimes, they forget to clean the rooms, but mostly they get to it once a week. We're all still figuring things out, so there are some bumps along the way. However, the staff is generally nice to my relative. She enjoys the food most of the time, though there are moments when it's not her favorite. Overall, it's okay.

"Super Helpful and Convenient"
They were super helpful all the time and took care of everything my dad needed. The location is perfect, just a few miles from us. The only downside is that my dad’s building is separate from the dining room, but they bring him food if he can’t go himself.

""Lack of Initiative Shown During Emergency""
They didn't really plan well. They didn't take initiative. An emergency situation happened, and rather than opening the door for the paramedics, they just had them break the door down. I'm aware that my family member didn't enjoy residing here.
