"Sunrise Assisted Living: Great Care and Social Engagement for Residents"
Sunrise takes good care of my sister. She likes it there and enjoys the activities and entertainment they have. The staff are really nice and keep me informed about her health and care. She gets to hang out with others and do activities that make her feel better mentally and physically.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
The person who talked to us was kind of strange. Understanding their system was tough. It seemed they'll charge based on what insurance covers. It felt more like they were selling than caring. The place itself is great, in a really good area, but we're picking somewhere else.

"Beautiful facility with consistent rooms and Wednesday medical services"
This place is beautiful. Residents can stay in the same room even if they need more help. Medical services are only on Wednesdays. An alcove room with services costs $7,000 a month.

"Sunrise is at the top for care and activities"
I researched a lot and found Sunrise to be the best place to visit, and I wasn’t let down. Many of my friends have put their loved ones at Sunrise and were very pleased with the care their parents received. The place is beautiful and well-organized with a perfect number of staff and residents. The staff is amazing. The cost was what I expected, and Sunrise offered the best deposit rate. They provide both Assisted Living and Memory Care and have many programs and outings for residents. The food is great and they make sure to offer dishes that residents enjoy. I chose Sunrise for my parent, and her suite is spacious and always clean. She looks great and loves her jewelry. The staff is wonderful and treats me like family. The facility takes residents on bus trips and even has dance classes. My mother-in-law, who has dementia, still dances well and enjoys twirling with the staff. I’m very happy with Sunrise and would definitely recommend it.

"Mom was comfortable and well-cared for"
I was nervous about moving Mom to Sunrise because it’s an Assisted Living place and they didn’t have night nursing (though they might have one now). But the care and attention she got was amazing. From the care, to the room, and even the food, everything was a blessing. They were much more responsive than the nursing home. I thought Sunrise was just for healthy people, but it turned out to be perfect for Mom. They treated her with respect and were super friendly. I’d recommend this place to anyone. I’m so glad Mom was here for her final days.

"Friendly and Welcoming Tour Experience"
I toured this place while looking for a home for my grandmother, and it was really nice. The facility is a bit older, so they have more experience, and they seem to be kind to all the residents. It's not run down, but you can tell it's starting to show its age. Other than that, it seems really nice. When I visited, it was lunchtime, and you could smell the food everywhere. Our tour guide greeted everyone we passed, and everyone knew her. It looked like everyone was having a good time. The staff and residents were very friendly and knew each other well. The only downside was the garden area outside. The landscaping showed its age, and the chairs were old and rusted. You could tell they weren't new.

""Pretty Place, Staffing Issues Disturbing""
I checked out Sunrise with my hubby, hoping for an easy move for mom since it's super close to where we live. The place itself was really nice. But, bummer, when we got there we faced issues. The person at the front desk, who was busy with the phones, told us we didn't have an appointment. Plus they said the person who should've shown us around was already busy with someone else. The staff was pretty much a no-show and it freaked me out a bit.

"Great Meals!"
My dad has been enjoying his stay at this community. He really likes the meals they serve, and he hasn't missed a mealtime. I appreciate how clean both the dining room and the entire facility are—the housekeeping team does an excellent job. The only thing I wish is that the residents were more inviting and friendly to him.

"The best care I could have imagined"
The team at Sunrise has gone beyond what I expected. Every part of the staff has made what could be a hard change for our family easy. It's clear they care about the elderly. My mom has been in the memory care unit for six weeks now, and her needs are very complex, but everyone goes above and beyond. I can't recommend Sunrise enough.

"Inadequate Communication Makes Poor Fit At Sunrise La Costa"
My time with Sunrise At La Costa was middling at best. I brought my grandma there and it wasn’t right for her. Their communication skills were far from stellar. It was extremely challenging to get in touch with anybody. I left many messages, but never got any response. I was not kept in the know about my grandma's wellbeing, which was critically significant to me. In the end, it just didn't suit our needs.

"Great place for Alzheimer's care with friendly, homey atmosphere"
The moment my sister and I walked into Sunrise at La Costa, we felt it was the right place for our dad, who has Alzheimer's. Right in the lobby, we saw a large, beautiful yellow lab named Landon, a retired seeing-eye dog. Landon is the unofficial greeter at Sunrise, making the place feel warm and welcoming. The common areas have comfy, oversized chairs and cozy lighting, while the rooms are nicely decorated. The grounds are lovely with roses, flowering plants, and palms. The one-bedroom apartments are spacious with plenty of storage. The most important thing is that Sunrise allows residents with Alzheimer's to stay in assisted living for as long as possible before needing memory care. This was crucial for us since Dad is quite independent. Lastly, the staff at Sunrise are kind, caring, and have been there for many years, showing a good work environment and stable management.

"Wonderful Community with Caring Staff"
My sister moved into this community 2 months ago. This place is amazing, and I can't say enough good things about the care and services they provide. My advisor, Jacquie at A Place For Mom, was a great help and made everything go smoothly. Now I see how important these reviews are. My sister is in the reminiscence unit, getting the stimulation she needs and making new friends. I can already see her improving. The dining room has 4 menu choices, and the staff is very organized. The food is okay. The staff is really involved with the residents and focuses on their well-being.

"Friendly staff, excellent care!"
I love everything about Sunrise, especially how friendly the staff is. Amy Burfitt gave the tour, and she was amazing. She answered all my questions and was very helpful. Even though she's now at Sunrise of La Jolla, it doesn't change how I feel about La Costa. The building is clean, the care services are excellent, and they have lots of fun activities. I highly recommend it!

"Cozy Home for Dad"
My dad's been here two years. He's happy and well taken care of. Most of the staff is great. The building looks a bit old, but it's bright, which is good for old folks. The decorations are more for them than for us, their kids. What's really nice is all the windows and skylights. It's not too big, so it's easy to manage. But it got bought out recently, and it seems like they're trying to save money. I hope they don't cut corners.

"Old but Friendly Staff Wins Dad’s Approval"
The place looked old with dark colors, but the staff answered my questions well. My dad chose this one!
