"False Promises and Poor Conditions at Assisted Living Home"
This place didn't live up to our expectations at all. 1. They claim they have activities for the residents to enjoy. But, the residents at the time my parent was there were way too weak and physically unable to join. Considering these residents were not newbies, what they told us clearly wasn't true. 2. They promised that my parent would receive better care than at a skilled nursing facility. Nope. There were two instances where she had to wait over an hour for an attendant to respond to her call button. Both times she was stuck on the toilet for ages without help. Inexcusable. When I confronted the owner about this, she replied, "Well, that could happen sometimes." 3. About that owner - she'd claimed to be a registered nurse, hoping to make us believe she's super involved. My parent only saw her twice the whole time. 4. There was just one attendant on duty from 7 PM to 7 AM. 5. Now, about the food. They boasted about preparing top-notch meals. We didn’t see anything close to that. The food was just okay. They also said if our parent didn’t like the menu, she could order anything she wanted. But if she didn't order, she'd get a simple cheese sandwich. But what really turned our stomachs was seeing frozen raw chicken left out on the counter for hours to thaw. Talk about not following food safety rules. Disgusting. 6. We were sold on the promise of exceptional care for my parent. But then, they started saying, "Well, you'll have to spend more time here (I came every other day) and hire someone else to help her." This was simply appalling. 7. Lastly, the owner didn't disclose that the property was on sale. It was sold recently but had been listed for over a year. This didn't break any laws, but imagine the distress of moving your elderly parent due to an ownership change.

"Boss suggests extra professional nursing hire"
I visited this place thinking it might be good for my Mom. The buildings are nice, big, and well put together. However, I was real worried about how much attention my mom would get here. The boss of the place just didn't seem very warm and they even suggested I might want to get more professional nursing help. My mom likes to relax in the sunlight, but they said she could only do that for 15 minutes, two times a day. They said maybe family should stay with her or to get a hired helper. I got the feeling my mom would be lonely in this big facility. I wouldn't suggest this place to others.

"Nice Place for Seniors!"
This place feels like a family. The workers are nice. The food is decent. They keep everything clean and have fun stuff to do. I think Sunrise is a good choice.
