"Mixed Experience in Assisted Living Facility"
The staff is very kind and caring. The place is kept very clean and looks nice. There's lots of sunlight and nice places to sit on the porches. It's close to a nice walking path. However, the food is usually not very good, and mealtimes are strict: breakfast at 8, lunch at noon, and dinner at 5. The food service is inconsistent, and the food is often not warm enough. I chose this place because it's only 2 miles from my home, and I wanted to visit my husband often. But now I realize we need a place where we can live together and where I can have a kitchen to cook in, which I love to do.

"Caring Community with Fun Activities and Great Meals"
The community is very caring, friendly, and loving toward our loved one and other residents. They evaluate the residents about every 6 months. The staff listened to our family's concerns about our loved one. My loved one enjoys the meals and snacks. Activities like Zumba, bingo, arts and crafts, gardening, field trips, celebrations, religious services, and more keep the residents engaged.

"Inconsistent rules, poor accommodation, and unfavorable food quality."
Ensure to understand their rules about care and medicine because the rules they told me initially were different when I arrived. My family member wasn't fond of the food. They don't have a menu and everyone is served the same thing. They also don't cater to specific dietary needs or requests.

"Chose Sunrise for activities and care; good communication but room disappointment."
We picked Sunrise because they had activities for my mom and we wanted her to be social. I thought the staff would take good care of her too. They were good at keeping us updated by email. The rooms we saw on the tour looked nicer than the one she got. Also, she had some jewelry and valuables go missing while she was there. Overall, they did their best given the situation. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

"Sunrise La Palma is the perfect choice!"
I was really impressed when I first visited this facility! It's smaller than other Sunrise locations, which is great! The purchasing director was so friendly and supportive to families. The Reminiscence Director is also very helpful and manages that area well. The staff was polite, busy, and answered all my questions. After choosing this place, they were incredibly helpful with the move-in process, made my mom’s transition smooth, and gave me peace of mind! They take great care of her, keeping her busy and making sure she eats well and stays clean. Friends have visited, and I’ve joined in for meals and activities, too!

"Perfect for an active, independent senior!"
Sunrise of La Palma was beautiful! I was really impressed with the community, and I even wanted to move in! I think it's better for someone in their 70s, not for my 90-year-old mom. The care costs extra, which adds up quick! It’s expensive, but the place is stunning!

"Great care, but communication needs improvement"
The overall experience has been great. The staff is very kind. They just need to improve communication with families about medical updates.

"Great, homey place with friendly staff and good food"
I love how Sunrise feels like home. The floors are carpeted, there's a friendly pet dog, the food is good, and the people are nice and helpful. If you think your loved one might need memory care, plan ahead because space is limited and there's often a waiting list. The price I mentioned covers everything, including medicine, incontinence care and supplies, meals, and rent.

"An Enjoyable Full Tour"
I scheduled a tour and it started right on time. The staff was ready and gave me a complete tour. It was a great experience, and this place became one of my top choices. The facility is new and looks upscale. The residents were friendly, but they didn’t seem very active. They were fine with me bringing some family members to check it out too. After thinking it over, we decided it was a bit too fancy and not the right fit.

"Great place for mom"
The staff at Sunrise of La Palma were so kind when my mom moved in. They helped her out of the car and made sure she was comfortable, even though one worker was about to leave for the day. They really tried to meet her special needs and gave her a good quality of life. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a home for their loved one. Even though it’s a bit expensive, it’s worth it for the care they provide.

"Friendly and Helpful Staff"
I think Sunrise of La Palma does a great job overall. The communication between all the staff members is fantastic, and it shows in the care they give. Everyone I’ve talked to, from the managers to the cleaning staff, has been friendly and helpful. I also like that it’s a smaller community, so the residents get more personal attention and care.

"My Place For Mom"
We visited several places in Orange County for my mom. Sunrise La Palma felt perfect—not too big, not too small. The staff is great to my mom and always lets me know if there’s any change in her routine. It was a hard choice to place her here, but now I feel confident that she’s safe, making new friends, and still able to enjoy life.

"Lovely Setting, Spacious Rooms, but Some Costly Inconveniences"
This place has really pretty grounds both outside and inside. The rooms are really nice, super clean, and they have lots of space. It's a bit tricky to tell if my mom likes it because she tends to like the last place she saw best. But, it's a little too pricey. The cheapest rooms, the studios, are too small for my mom's furniture. Plus, managing medications costs more based on how many you take. If it's up to 6, it's one price, but if it's 7 or more, it's $15 extra each day. Also, they only offer transportation for medical appointments on one day of the week, and only within a 10-mile radius.
