"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
My mom stayed there for 3 days but then had a fall. They charged me a lot for moving in, sleeping there, and keeping her stuff while she was in the hospital. They wanted to charge me for 30 more days, but they didn't in the end. It seems like a 5 as an Assisted Living Facility, but as a memory care facility, it's more like a 3 because they don't have enough staff on the memory floor. I wouldn't suggest Memory Care if your family member is active or mobile. Most of the memory residents were in wheelchairs, so they didn't face problems. Despite being beautiful, the staff didn't properly look after my mom.

""High Cost, Low Quality: Care Falls Short Post-Purchase""
This place costs a ton, but doesn't live up to the price. The people who sell you on it are great, but once you're in, the folks who handle the care and paperwork aren't as nice.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
This community asks residents and families to bring their own furniture such as tables, chairs, beds, and recliners. When you enter, the first floor hosts lively assisted living activities, but the memory unit seems quieter and less engaging. More activities for memory care would be beneficial, and I've hired a caregiver to help twice a week. It's not perfect, but it's the best option we found. Staff could spend more time assisting my loved one. The meals served are insufficient for many residents, causing some not to eat. I've witnessed residents left in the living room during meals, which is concerning. Hopefully, this issue is addressed soon. There have been mix-ups with clothing, with items not belonging to my loved ones appearing in their closets and vice versa. Care quality varies; experienced staff provide better care. I've observed wonderful afternoons when experienced caregivers engage residents warmly, using their first names and brightening their day.

"Great Staff and Care, But Needs Kitchen Improvement"
I just LOVE the staff - they are fantastic. They're friendly and really good at following through. They give great care. The facility was mostly clean. The only bad thing I noticed was the kitchen area - it was a little gross and not appealing. But everything else, especially in the memory care unit, was great.

"Chose another place because it felt right"
The tour was good and helpful, but we chose another place because it felt right for us.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"
This community wasn't as well-run as our preferred choice for my loved one. It didn't feel like the right fit.

"Friendly Staff, but Needs Better Care and Communication"
The people here are really nice, especially when we first met the sales team. But after we moved our family member into the place, it seemed like they didn’t talk to us as much. We felt a bit left out. They’re still nice, but they don’t tell us enough about what’s happening day-to-day. The building and our family member’s room are usually clean when we visit. But they don’t seem to pay as much attention as they promised. Our family member would call us over and over for hours because she couldn’t figure out her TV. We even had to stop taking her calls. If someone was checking on her like they should, I think they would’ve helped her with the TV. She has trouble remembering things, so maybe she didn’t remember to ask them. We’re paying a lot, and it feels like too much since our family member spends a lot of time alone. But maybe it’s a better deal if your family member likes to do more things.

"A Comfortable Home for Mom"
My mom just moved into this place recently and things are going good for her. The staff have been really helpful with everything she needs, and I feel good about the care she's getting. She likes the food and joins in activities with the other people living there sometimes. Overall, it's been a nice experience and we would tell others about it.

"Mixed Feelings About Beachside Assisted Living"
The place was tidy, and the folks we encountered were friendly. However, it's a bit more expensive than our budget allows. The rooms are small, and there's no pleasant outdoor space. On the bright side, it's close to the beach.

"Pleasant Place but Needs More Activities"
The Sunrise of Playa Vista was really nice too. Just like the other Sunrise places I saw, it had a great layout and looked really good inside. I wish there were more things happening, more people outside talking and activities going on.

"Poor Management, Bad Food, and Broken Elevators Plague Facility"
I definitely wouldn't suggest this center to anyone. My mother-in-law has seen five different bosses in her four years living here. It's clear that the whole place isn't managed well from the top down. Besides a few exceptions, it seems like they can't keep staff members. The food's not great because the cooks keep leaving. The elevators are always breaking down, and the firemen are often called to get someone out. They hardly ever have enough people working, especially at night, to even open the door when a resident comes back late from doing something with their family. It's pretty clear that the company isn't willing to put any money into the building or towards hiring good workers. But they keep making people pay more every year. They don't really care about your family members... they just care about getting their money!
