"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living Facility"
My family member passed away recently, and we’re currently discussing the last payment with the facility. They told us the corporate office would handle it, but we haven’t heard back yet. The monthly fee was really high, and we were actually looking into a smaller place that offered more personal care. Sadly, she had a fall at this facility and didn’t survive the injuries. On a positive note, the people working there were nice, especially those at the front desk and the ones who help out on the floors. It’s worth noting that the facility was changing from Sunrise Sabre Springs to Ivy. Things might have gotten better if we’d stayed. But in our experience, as someone who needed special care for memory issues, she spent a lot of time by herself in her room. She didn’t want to join in on group activities, so I think it would be good if the facility had someone to spend time with residents who prefer to stay alone.

"Assisted Living Facility with Good Design and Manageable Price"
We chose this community because it looks like an assisted living place, not a hotel. Even though it's a bit over our budget, we can still afford it.

"Reliable Care with Room for Improvement"
At this assisted living place, it's important to visit unexpectedly to check on things for your loved ones. Our family goes there a lot. When we ask for things or are worried, the staff are pretty good at responding. We've had a good experience in general. The person in charge of the floor is great - she really cares about my mom. Getting my mom interested in activities has been tough. It's pretty expensive overall, but I feel good knowing my mom is well taken care of, and that's what matters.

"Nice but Pricey"
I visited Sunrise of Sabre Springs, and it seemed really nice. However, we ended up choosing a different community due to various reasons, but mainly because Sunrise was too expensive for us.

"Comfortable Care with Room for Improvement"
I feel good about how they take care of my family member. The activities could be better, but the director recently left, so they're in transition. COVID-19 has also affected the activities, but they're trying to improve. Different families have different needs when choosing a place like this, but I think it's worth considering this one.

"Unpleasantries and limited visitations at this facility"
Avoid placing your family in this facility. The staff is unwelcoming and unhelpful. Plus, visiting opportunities are practically non-existent!

"Community Struggles Amid Pandemic"
We weren't happy with how the community handled the pandemic and our loved one. They wouldn't let my loved one leave for holidays, and they insisted on a 14-day quarantine. Then, the entire community went into quarantine. Getting vaccines for the residents took a long time. The activities director was terrible; the only activities were bingo and movies. On the bright side, the staff, especially the girls who brought food, were good. We had to keep reminding them to pick up our loved one's laundry, and they changed the cleaning schedule. Sometimes they wouldn't let my loved one leave because they didn't realize which residents couldn't go outside.

"Wonderful Care for Grandpa"
My grandfather lived here before he passed away. He didn't want to move at first, but the team was very supportive. The Executive Director made my family feel at ease. It was hard for us to accept grandpa moving into assisted living. I thank every caregiver and nurse who took care of him. Their care was amazing, and I'm so glad he spent his last days in a place that truly cared for him. I highly recommend this facility to any family looking for quality care. The chef makes wonderful food, and grandpa always said it was the best part. Thank you, Sunrise of Sabre Springs, for taking care of my grandpa and my family during this tough time. I will always be grateful!

"Excellent Value and Care at La Costa"
I visited the La Costa location. It's like a smaller version of a big resort. The staff is super friendly and proud of their ten-year status. There's not much staff turnover, which is great. It's pet-friendly and has outdoor spaces. They really take the time to get to know the residents. It was rated #1 by JDPower in 2018. Each floor has a charge nurse station, offering the best care plans. The facility provides on-site medical care, sightseeing tours of the community, and free transportation. It's moderately priced, not the cheapest but not the most expensive. Overall, it's an excellent value for the money.

"Sunrise of Sabre Springs: Top-Notch Care and Community"
Our family has placed two grandmothers in local facilities and toured more than eight. Sunrise of Sabre Springs is the best by far. Opened in mid-2017, it’s state-of-the-art with great access, convenience, safety, and a warm environment. The staff is skilled, friendly, and always ready to help my mom. She loves how they interact with her. After six months, I see that the residents and the friendships they form are just as important as the staff. The residents at Sunrise are active and enjoy the activities and discussions provided. Here are some services I rely on: 1. Monthly calls about my mom’s physical, mental, and social well-being. 2. Computer records of all her medications. 3. Immediate calls to her doctor if needed, with follow-up calls to me 24/7. 4. Meals delivered to her room if she’s not feeling well. 5. Full management of her 11 medications, from prescriptions to refills. Sunrise has done a great job. 5-stars! Regarding cost, Sunrise is 0-20% more expensive than five other places we toured and 10-20% cheaper than three others. They have a "move-in fee," but so did many others. Negotiate, and you get what you pay for, especially with trained staff. Costs depend on the apartment size, service frequency, and medication needs. We found them reasonable.

"Best Place Hands Down"
My cousin is thriving at this facility, and she’s always happy. The place is spotless, and she enjoys walking her dog. The staff is great, and the beauty shop on-site is a bonus. It’s the best place I’ve found for her, hands down.

"Nice, new facility but pricey and lacks activities director"
I visited this location while considering options for my dad. The building is modern, attractive, and not overcrowded, with everyone having private rooms. The cleanliness was impressive during my visit, and the staff was kind and pleasant. However, the initial cost was out of our price range, which was disappointing because we liked it. Also, they didn't have an activities director and I believe that's really important, to keep residents engaged and avoid boredom. Maybe they don't have one due to their current low number of residents.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living Tour"
We visited this place and the tour was nice. Mostly everything went smoothly. The community seemed nice with lots of things for residents to use. But we thought the prices were too high for us.
