"Tricky Communication, Good Overall"
I recommend this place, but contacting administrators can be tricky due to the location and price.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Our time here has been pretty good. The community and how they take care of everyone has been positive. The staff usually communicate fine, but sometimes they don't respond to my messages or calls about my family member. They serve three meals daily, but residents only get one choice.

"Mixed Feelings About Facility's Atmosphere"
This place was nice. It wasn't as spacious as my family hoped for my loved one.

"Mixed Experience at Sunrise of San Mateo"
We picked Sunrise of San Mateo because the person there answered all our questions and showed us around with an iPad. My mom got a corner room that was like having two rooms, almost like an apartment. It's close to our house, so she felt comfortable. We couldn't visit much because of the pandemic. They allow pets, which is nice. They could improve by offering more help with getting around and appointments. Mom loved the meals—they were good quality. But she wanted more privacy, so she moved back home. I would recommend it to others looking for a place.

"Looking for Memory Care with Outdoor Space"
I checked out this place, but their memory care didn't work for our dad. We're realizing we want a facility with different levels of memory care. And if our budget allows, we'd love a place with a nice outdoor area.

"Affordable, caring staff; small rooms; fees for extras."
This place is really nice, and the people who work here are super friendly. They have a great program for helping people with memory issues. The only thing is the rooms are pretty small, and they charge you extra for just about everything.

"This place is wonderful and full of caring people!"
This place is wonderful. The activities make residents feel happy, and the staff is so kind and understanding. The facility is very clean, and I’m impressed by everything. The food is delicious with lots of options on the menu. They offer daily exercise, games, bocce ball, crosswords, bingo, and more. They even take residents to the opera and theater. The person in charge really knows what he’s doing. It’s rare to find such caring people in this field, but everyone here truly cares. I highly recommend them.

"Not Quite What We Expected, But Program Seems Decent"
We saw another place and liked it more than this one. This place would've been okay for a different family. They only had semi-private rooms. It wasn't exactly what we were looking for, but their program seemed alright.

"Perfect place for Grandma—warm, welcoming, and friendly staff!"
This was the perfect place for Grandma. It felt warm, welcoming, and even smelled like fresh cookies. I honestly wanted to move in! Trish, who gave us the tour, seemed to know everyone there, residents and staff alike. The only downside was the price, which was a bit high, but we still decided to come back.

"Our Visit to the Multi-level Senior Home"
This place seemed pretty nice, specifically for older folks. They also had a small section for those who needed special attention for their memory. We were looking for that kind of specialized memory care. The area for this was up on the 4th floor and the only way to get outside was on a balcony. The building had a lot of floors. It ended up not being right for us.

"Spacious and Friendly: A Different League at Sunrise"
The people were friendly when we visited Sunrise. It's a bigger place compared to where we picked. It felt a bit too formal there. But it sure is pretty!

"Super friendly staff, but too expensive for us."
Sunrise is a great place. Everyone was super friendly during our tour. Unfortunately, it was a bit too expensive for us, so it wasn't an option. Still, I'd give it 5 stars!

"Wonderful care and friendly staff at Sunrise of San Mateo"
My mom has been at Sunrise of San Mateo for about a month, and she’s doing great. The staff is really friendly and caring. Whenever my brother or I visit, she’s always busy with activities and seems very happy. Recently, she had a bit of trouble with her dementia, but the staff handled it well and kept us updated. They’ve been very nice to her and to us too.

"Not Bad"
Certainly! Here's the revised review in 8th-grade level American English: "The Sunrise of San Mateo facility is super clean, and the saleswoman we dealt with was awesome. But, I wish more caregivers spoke fluent English and that they offered a wider range of activities. It seems like they're short-staffed and maybe not fully trained since the caregivers handle everything, including meals (which could be better). Other places have dedicated staff for that." "Warm, Welcoming, and Beautiful Assisted Living"
As soon as you walk in, you can feel the warmth and hominess. The staff is amazing, always ready to help, and super friendly. The grounds are beautiful. The inside is very nice to look at and comfortable to sit in. There are lots of places, both outside and inside, where you can have visitors. The whole place is very clean. Their prices are competitive, and we got lucky because they waived the move-in fee as a special offer. They also have a nursing staff available.

"Met with community relations director; lively residents and great amenities"
I met with the community relations director. The residents are very lively, and the private rooms are nice. There are great sitting areas for reading and visiting. They have activities for almost everyone. The Dreyer’s ice cream on the menu would be a hit with mom. I will definitely consider this place, its different levels of services, and their care philosophy.
