"Attentive Care, Room for Improvement in Family Communication"
Staff were nice and took good care of my Mom. They were quick to help when we had questions or needed help. Moving in was easy. My mom's room was always clean. I would recommend this place. One thing to improve is giving more updates to the family. During our tour, we were told we would get reports about my mom's activities and any issues. While the staff gave us some information, we had to ask for updates. If we didn't ask, we didn't hear much about how my mom was doing, like how well she was eating.

"Quality of food could be better; lacks healthy options."
The food could be better, like home-cooked meals or restaurant-style. When I ate there with my mom multiple times, I noticed there weren't many healthy choices.

"Not Enough Activities for Seniors"
When I chat with my friend, she says she’s bored. The assisted living place has bingo and exercises, but overall, I think they should offer more activities for seniors. During the tour, we thought there would be more outings and events, but that’s not the case. On the bright side, my friend doesn’t complain about the care.

"Understaffed & Uncaring: Sunrise Assisted Living Facility Unfit"
After talking to many employees at Sunrise, I wouldn't want my grandma to stay here. The place is terribly short-staffed under harsh management. They tend to take in residents they can't truly handle and that makes me question their capacity to provide care.

"Mixed Feelings on Sunrise of West Hills Assisted Living"
We had a decent tour at Sunrise of West Hills, but nothing really stood out. It seemed nice, and the staff followed up well afterward. They asked why we chose another place, and I explained in an email. I just didn't get the feeling I was hoping for.

"Adequate but not top choice, informative tour experience."
This place was alright, but not as good as another one I checked out. The tour was cool, and they answered all my questions.

"Disappointed by Costly Care Based on Brief Evaluation"
I was let down by how they judged my family member's condition. It was based on a quick evaluation by a hospital nurse who only looked after them briefly. Because of this, the price for looking after my loved one got twice as expensive.

"Beautiful facility, too corporate vibe; not our preference."
Sunrise of West Hills is beautiful, but felt too corporate for us.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility Cost Structure"
We looked at their place online, but it was hard to really understand what it's like. We weren't happy with how they charge. They only offer three options for different levels of help, but we wanted to see exactly what we were paying for. Everyone needs different things, so we think it's important to pay for only what you need.

"Great Place, Just Not Right for Us"
I have no complaints about my tour of this place for my dad. The staff were on time for our appointment and answered all our questions. The building was clean, and I liked that the dining and common areas were spacious, giving all the residents plenty of room. It was a great experience, but in the end, it just wasn't the right fit for my dad.

"Sunrise: A Wonderful Home for Mom"
Sunrise is the best place for my mom. At 93, with very poor eyesight, she gets the care she needs every day. The staff and residents are super friendly, and it feels like home. I wish I had done this sooner!

"Super friendly and home-like atmosphere"
Sunrise has been awesome. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Everyone calls mom by her name, and it's clear that all staff are supposed to greet and be friendly to all residents and visitors. This Sunrise is a bit smaller and feels more like home than the other places we visited. It only took mom a few days to get used to the routine, and she is so much happier than she was at home with a caretaker, where she felt trapped. The rooms are great, and the food is good. They have activities all day if she wants to join, or she can go back to her room and rest. They have a computer system that logs everything, so you know what has or hasn't been done. We are very pleased, and mom is feeling so much better, which is very exciting.

"Lovely Community"
This place was one of my mom’s top options to move into. It’s a lovely community, super clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only downside was the rates. Overall, I enjoyed the tour and liked this community.

"Great place for seniors with lots of activities and good food."
Sunrise of West Hills is really nice overall. I'd say it's been great overall. My friend loves it there. They have tons of stuff to do. I talked to another person who lives there, and they wished there were more food options. But the food tastes really good, I've tried it.

"Nice Assisted Living Facility"
They offer many enjoyable activities at Sunrise of West Hills. The surroundings are pleasant, and the facility is tidy and well-maintained. While finding the right fit for my father's needs has been challenging, the place itself is quite nice.

"Fantastic Care at Assisted Living!"
They’re doing great! We’re really happy. She’s as content as her personality allows. Adjusting well. The place is lovely, and the staff are absolutely fantastic, the sales and overall directors. After years of searching, they really assisted us with paperwork. We adore them.

"Great Care, Five Stars!"
Overall, they do a great job providing quality care for everyone. The caregiver for my grandpa is very attentive and knows what's happening with the patients. My only complaint is that the food is good but could use more variety.

"“Great Place Overall!”"
Sunrise of West Hills has been a good place for us overall. The staff is super friendly and caring, especially to Mom. She’s really happy here! But there have been a few issues. The facility is big, and sometimes they miss small details. We had problems with paperwork during the move-in process, and Mom’s dietary needs were overlooked sometimes. Still, they do a great job overall, and I’d recommend them.

"Very caring, friendly, and welcoming"
They are very caring, friendly, and welcoming. They make us feel at home. The only thing I wish they could be more careful about is the food. The food is good, but my dad has a few special dietary needs that the wait staff sometimes forgets, and they suggest food he can't eat. Other than that, it has been a great experience, and I would definitely recommend them.

"Looked nice, not enough care"
We visited this place while exploring choices for my family member. Both of the Sunrise communities we saw looked really nice, but they were also quite expensive. Unfortunately, the care my loved one needed exceeded what they could offer here. However, if I were considering options for myself, I’d definitely be intrigued by Sunrise.

"Great Care and Service"
My mom needs memory care, which is where the cost comes in. There’s a base rate, and then you get charged for services, which makes sense. We were happy with how they handled things. At first, they thought my mom needed more care, but then they checked again and lowered the cost. They did that on their own, which was nice. I think they’re really good. They’re changing some staff, moving them from one place to another in the same organization, but they’ve replaced the old staff with good people. So far, it’s been good. My sister visits almost every day and she’s been very happy with all the events and activities. My mom, because of her memory issues, isn’t as active as some of the others.

"Perfect place for my dad"
This place is perfect for my dad. The staff is super friendly and always smiling. It's clean, the food is good, and the rooms are the biggest I've seen. Plus, it's cheaper. Robin is so sweet and genuine. We chose this place, but dad wants to be in Arizona, so we're still looking there.

"Expensive, small, nice for Mom."
This place costs the most among the facilities. It's small, with only 40 to 50 residents. I believe Mom would fit in better here than at the Woodranch location. It's really nice without feeling too much like a hotel.

"Pretty Sunrise Place, But Not Close Enough For Parents"
The Sunrise place was really pretty. The Boss was super nice in showing us the place. The apartments we looked at were really nice. But, my parents want to live closer to my sister and me.
