"Comfortable and Friendly Assisted Living Facility"
We noticed several standout features at this facility: the atmosphere, decor, and the friendly staff. Residents seem content, and the units are spacious. It's quiet and exceptionally clean, with a pleasant smell throughout. Housekeeping and laundry services are included, which is convenient. While the staff is generally attentive, their response time could be quicker. Activities are okay, but more outings would be appreciated.

"Poor Staffing and Decline after Oakmont Takeover, Save for Infrastructure"
My relative stays here and we were tricked by the impressive exterior. The staff doesn't seem to have a clue about their jobs, and the activities team just lost their best people. Ever since Oakmont took charge, things have only gotten worse. The only good parts are the pretty building and the outdoor spaces.

Our family took a tour in person, and it was a great experience. However, we didn’t see many people around the community.

"Clean, Bright, and Inviting"
Wonderful! Everything was clean, bright, and inviting. The staff member I talked to was a joy. The one-bedroom was perfect. I hope my Mom can see it soon.

"Mixed Feelings About Sunrise Villa Assisted Living Facility"
We checked out Sunrise Villa and thought it was nice. It feels cozy, with fireplaces and comfy spots to sit. But the rooms were smaller than we hoped, and they couldn't give the level of care our loved one needed.

""Cozy Home, But Limited Care Capabilities""
We checked out Sunrise Villa and liked it a lot. It's snug, with fireplaces and comfy places to sit. But, the rooms were tinier than we'd hoped and the type of help my family member needed then was too much for them to handle.

"A MUST VISIT!!"
If you need to find Independent, Assisted, or Memory Care living for your loved one, Sunrise Villa Culver City should be at the top of your list. The care staff here is amazing. Everyone, from the top down, truly cares and pays loving attention to the residents’ needs. Their motto, “to champion the quality of life for all seniors,” is shown in every interaction, and care is given with love.

"This Place Went Through Changes"
When my mom first moved into this community, it was great. It used to be family-owned and family-oriented. However, once the new owners took over, things changed. They reduced the staff and raised the prices. They started charging for every little thing. It seemed like they cared less about the residents compared to the previous owners. Due to these changes, we decided to move my mom out of this community.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living: A Family's Perspective"
This tour was okay. I didn't like that the staff changes a lot. The people living there didn't seem to do much. The place is clean, but the rooms are small and feel like a hotel. There's no outside area with grass or trees. The food doesn't look very good. Families should check out this place, but they should add more outside space for the residents.

"Major Health and Safety Concerns at Grandview Assisted Living"
I hate having to write this, but I feel obligated to warn others who might be considering this place. Last year, my mother-in-law moved into the VIP unit - basically the memory care section - of the Grandview facility on the Westside. At first, she was hesitant, mostly keeping to herself in her room. This worried me quite a lot. By a month in, she had fallen multiple times, ending up with a fractured rib and vertebra. She was assigned a physical therapist and moved from walking on her own to using a walker. The real shock came at the end of March. Her physical therapist found that she was no longer able to walk and underwent a sudden and dramatic change. The staff said that she had not been engaging in activity 'all weekend,' but there was no 'incident report' to show for it. I had to ensure her transfer to the hospital once the private therapist brought the issue to my attention. It turned out, she had a fractured hip that required major surgery. After a brutal month of rehabilitation, we're transferring her to a new facility next week. To this day, the Grandview staff has no explanation for how she fractured her hip or why there was no immediate assessment when she first experienced pain and couldn't walk. It's truly worrying. As a doctor, I can't, in good faith, endorse this place for those capable of walking. During her short 2.5-month stay there, she sustained three fractures despite completely fracture-free life prior to moving in. There's more, like the time they neglected her personal hygiene for days on end. Her physician was clear in their advice.

"Mother-in-Law Suffered Multiple Fractures at "VIP" Grandview Resort."
I regret having to write this review, but I believe it's necessary to alert others considering this facility. Last year, we found a place for my mother-in-law at Grandview in the Westside area. She moved into their Memory Care unit (they refer to it as the VIP unit). At first, everything appeared fine, although she was hesitant to leave her room. By the first month, she had fallen multiple times, leading to a broken rib and a fractured lumbar vertebra. Thankfully, she began physical therapy and started using a walker, which seemed helpful. But at the end of March, her physical therapist found she couldn't walk and had shown severe progressional changes. Despite this, the Grandview staff only commented she hadn't been willing to use the walker 'over the weekend', not bothering to question why or document an 'incident report.' Taking advice from her private therapist, I decided to move her to a hospital. She had a hip fracture and had to undergo significant surgery. Afterward, she battled through a tough month of rehabilitation, and we'll be transitioning her to a new place soon. To this day, no one from Grandview can explain how she fractured her hip or why they didn't take immediate action when she was clearly in pain and couldn't walk. I am professionally a physician, and I couldn't, in good conscience, recommend the Memory Care unit at this facility for anyone capable of moving on their own. My mother-in-law experienced 3 fractures in just 2.5 months there. Before this, she'd never broken a bone and lived independently at her house. There are other issues too, such as her dirty hair not being washed for days. Her doctor clearly told us.

"Cozy and Caring: The Grandview Assisted Living Shines"
The Grandview is smaller and cozier than the Gardens in SM. Crystal, our tour guide, was awesome! She was kind, caring, and knew a lot. The place looked clean and the residents looked happy. The one-bedroom apartment seemed a bit small, but the resident had lots of furniture. The two-bedroom option was beautiful and spacious.

"Really Nice but Pricey"
This place was really nice, but a bit pricey. It's similar to the other places we checked out in terms of what they offer and the cost. However, we found another one that gave us a discount for the first month.

"Just Couldn't Consider It for Mom"
It wasn't comfortable there for me. I didn't have any conversations with anyone. I just entered and noticed individuals who were unattended, sitting around. The odor wasn't great either. The overall feeling wasn't nice. Maybe it was just a bad day, but the moment I entered, I had this thought that I couldn't possibly let my mom stay there.

"Very Happy with the Great Care and Friendly Atmosphere!"
We're very happy with this place. It is pricey, but caring for someone's life is worth it. The care and activities are excellent. We were surprised to find out there's a $20 fee for the big events with lunch, which we didn't know about before. The staff goes above and beyond. They are friendly, kind, and helpful. The place feels like a small, caring family. We haven't had any bad experiences.

"Friendly Staff, Clean But Smoke-Free, In Lackluster Neighborhood"
The workers were really friendly here. It was super clean, and it looked like everyone enjoyed living there. Though, the area outside wasn't the best. Having my mom smoke was a big problem because there weren't any personal outdoor spaces connected to the rooms.
