"Assisted Living Facility Needs Better Personalized Care and Communication"
I think it'd help if they put names on everything. Lots of stuff went missing, even a big rug from near my sister's bed. It's tough to get them to call back, so getting personally involved is important. The staff is nice, but when my sister's not in a good mood, they leave her alone in her room. They don't seem to know what to do when things get hard. Laundry is supposed to be done every week, but we always have to take it ourselves or it doesn't get done. The place looks clean and organized. I wish they'd spend more one-on-one time with the patients and staff, instead of just doing things in groups. I hire a caregiver to come three times a week to make sure my sister gets attention. I visit once a week too. Sometimes my sister isn't easy to deal with, but I thought they'd know how to handle all situations, especially since lots of people here have dementia and some days are better than others.

"Excellent for my sister; friendly, but email responses could improve."
I think Ivy Park at Salinas is a great place for my sister. She's really happy there, and that's what matters most to me. The staff are friendly and they involve the residents and families in activities, which is nice. I do wish they would respond to emails faster and more consistently. We chose this community because it seemed to match my sister's personality and needs the best.

"Great Choice for Mom Close to Home"
We picked Sunrise Villa Salinas because it's near where my mom lived for a long time. The place was familiar, and folks we know spoke highly of it. When we toured places, this one offered the best value for what mom needed. They've been really helpful and adaptable, especially since we're not nearby. Overall, I'd definitely suggest it.

"Great Potential: Assisted Living Review"
I want to bring my mom to see this place. I really liked the memory care area, how the property is set up, the cafeteria, the overall vibe, and that it's a Sunrise place with experienced staff and high standards. I'll plan a visit with her soon, but need to coordinate. I'd like to get [Removed]'s thoughts on it too. I've talked to doctors. They think she should stay where she is for now. If she needs more care, I can move her to a memory care center of my choosing. I liked Sunrise Villa's memory care area and would be glad to have her there if she gets to a later doesn't want to move to Salinas right now.

"Sunrise Villa: A Positive Review for Memory Care"
I want to show my mom this place. I liked the memory care area, how the place is set up, the cafeteria, and that it’s a Sunrise property with experienced staff. I’ll plan a visit with my mom soon. I’d also like to know what [Removed] thinks about it. I talked to [Removed] doctors, and they think she should stay where she is for now. If she needs more care, I can move her to a memory care center. I really liked Sunrise Villa’s memory care area, especially for late-stage patients.

"Mom's Happy Place"
My mom loves it here. She has her own little apartment for privacy, but there are lots of group activities she enjoys. The caregivers are very competent and caring, and they keep each other well-informed. There are 12 levels of care; mom is at the first level. She gets help with dressing, undressing, and showering. The three meals a day are great, using fresh Salinas Valley produce. I visit her once or twice a month. She has been in several facilities over the years, and this is the best. It might be pricey, but good wages mean good care. FYI, she lived in another county before.

"Beautiful place, but pricey"
The place is really nice, but it's a bit expensive. Monica was super nice and professional. She gave us a lot of good info.

"Salinas Residents, Beware!"
Most residents are from the Salinas area. They ask for a $500 deposit, but the location is far from everything.

"Mixed Impressions at Villa Serra"
I visited Villa Serra in Salinas, the only other place I'd consider. It's really big, but there were some things I didn't like. My mom had a stroke, so I worried about her being around so many people. The first impression wasn't great—the crowded entrance with wheelchairs and dark hallways. The staff mentioned remodeling, but I haven't seen the changes.

"Bigger Community"
Villa Serra is a large assisted living facility in Salinas. My mom, who has had a stroke, found it challenging to communicate with so many people. The initial impression wasn't great due to crowded wheelchairs near the entrance and a dark hallway. Remodeling was underway, but I haven't seen the results.

"Feels Like a Resort with Great Dining Options"
This place is amazing, just like a resort. The dining room has daily specials and a regular menu to choose from. The 2-bedroom unit costs about $4,500 plus $900 in rent, and around $600 each for care. It includes 2 bedrooms, a living room, 1 bathroom, and a small kitchen with a full-size fridge, stove top, and sink, but no oven.

"Friendly Care and Support in Assisted Living Facility"
My mom has lived here for about 3 years. Because of her specific diet and health needs, she eats in her room. Sometimes it's a challenge to make sure her meals are correct and delivered on time. On the positive side, the caregivers who help her shower and the housekeeping staff are really nice. Mom considers them friends, and it's comforting that they stay for a long time. Since she spends most of her time in her apartment, having these friendly people around is important for her. We've also gotten to know some of the other residents, who all seem well taken care of and mostly friendly.

"Friendly Staff, Residents Well-Cared For Despite Meal Challenges"
My mom's been here 3 years. She eats in her room due to health issues. We often need to remind staff about her meals. But, the caregivers and housekeeping folks are really nice. Mom thinks of them as friends. They stick around, which is good. Being stuck in her apartment, it's nice for her to have friendly faces around. We've also met some other residents. They seem well taken care of and mostly friendly.

"Comfortable Assisted Living in Salinas with Great Amenities"
This place was my second favorite. The only thing that made me hesitate is that it's in Salinas. I'm not sure if Salinas is safe or if the area looks nice. But the community itself is really nice. I felt very comfortable about the community and the apartments. Also, there were good choices for apartments with nice views. I thought the newly renovated dining room and some common areas were very attractive. The other common areas are a bit old-fashioned, but the apartments themselves felt really good. I liked that there were more meal options and restaurant-style dining.
