"Attentive management and supportive environment make it a good choice."
I really like this place because the manager is a nurse. She can spot problems early and lets me know so we can fix them before they get worse. Other places don’t have nurses in charge. I looked at other places too. I also like that this home has its own management. My mom likes that there are other women there she can talk to. The rules in our state mean they can’t give out medications. So, we have to go back and forth to change the doctor’s orders. Overall, it’s a good place for my mom.

"Disappointed by Broken Promises at Assisted Living"
We were really let down. The place is run by two sisters who seemed super happy and full of energy, but it turned out to be too much. They promised to handle things for us, but a week before moving in, they said they couldn’t do those things after all. We only told our family member a few days before the move, following the advice of Sunshine Home Care and others. Then, they said they couldn’t manage our family member’s meds and wanted to change them right away. On the very first day, they said they needed to give her medicine to make her sleep all night. They didn’t want us talking to our own doctor, but to their neurologist instead. They made her wear a diaper she didn’t need and put up bedrails, which made her feel trapped in bed. She started to get worse every day. They like to keep everyone calm, but she enjoys walking, which was a problem. The caregiver is really kind and loud, and loves to give hugs, but she said something that hurt our family member’s feelings. She could use some training on being more sensitive. There were so many rules, like telling them when you’re coming to visit, and you couldn’t visit during meal times. Overall, it wasn’t a good experience.
