"Facility Misamange: Ignorance, Losses, and Insecurity at Assisted Living Home"

My mom was in Balance when Del Monte Assisted Living took over six months ago. Long-term employees were shockingly fired, and communication was awful. They took days to return my calls. There were three days in a row without heat; I even called the owner, who claimed he hadn't been told about the issue despite my mom complaining constantly. One night there was no cook, so they got pizza delivered for all the residents. My mom often couldn’t shower due to a lack of hot water, or because the staff claimed to be too busy. The facility lost her brand new wheelchair and made no effort to find it, and also ignored my calls about it. When we finally took her out of the facility, they handed over another resident's prescription instead of my mom's. They gave us an empty bottle and refused to fill it. On top of that, they raised her monthly rent by a significant amount. The place was also insecure; the back door was always unlocked, and anyone could walk into any room. My calls were continually ignored.

"Disappointing Experience at Balanced Assisted Living and Memory Care"

My family member stayed at Balanced Assisted Living and Memory Care before. The place felt gloomy and sad, but they insisted on staying there. Twice, they ran out of my family member's medicine without warning us until the last minute. Towards the end, the staff became really impolite. I tried to arrange a meeting for a care plan, but after waiting for two weeks, no one responded. I chose to move her to a different place.

"Proof That Angels Walk Among Us"

My father stayed at The Ashley Place for a short time, but he was very comfortable while he was there. The staff, food, and amenities were amazing. My Dad really loved it. Sadly, after just three weeks, he had to go back to the hospital and later needed skilled nursing. In the end, he only asked for two things: to return to Ashley’s and to have medication to ease his pain. He got both and passed away peacefully, holding his granddaughter’s hand. The staff at Ashley Place who cared for him are proof that angels are real.

"The Ashley Place is just right for us!"

My family member is enjoying their time at The Ashley Place! The place is clean and the meals taste good. We found that the location works well for us. The workers listen to our worries and requests and take care of them. This place is exactly what we were searching for!

"Consider This Assisted Living: Clean, but Lacks Interaction"

I toured various places and came across this home. It was clean and neat. The residents appeared fine, but mostly just sat and watched TV. It was a good visit, but it felt like there wasn't much interaction, which we were hoping for.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Plenty of Activities, but Needs Updates"

I really liked how everything is included for $2800 a month, even medicine help. The place is big and I talked to one resident who was super friendly and seemed really content. There are loads of things to do, too. On the not-so-great side, the building looks old-fashioned, and so does the furniture and carpet. It's kind of gloomy inside because it's dark.

"Client-focused care with good atmosphere and fair prices"

This facility really focuses on the clients. My mom’s needs are met well. It has a nice atmosphere and affordable prices.

"Insufficient Assistance for My Elderly Mother at Care Facility"

My mom's doc said she should have a bath three times each week, but she barely got one at best. When she first moved in, I informed them that she needed assistance dressing. Despite this, she was always left to dress on her own. At least they got her meds right - that's one area I had no worries with. I had to temporarily move my mom there for two months while I managed to close out a store. I found myself at the facility so often that I wore myself out. It was a terrible experience and as soon as the store was closed, I brought her back home. I'm looking at home health aids now. While I'm here, I felt that mom was being looked after at Ashley Place. But my daughter has her university graduation this Spring - I can't trust anyone with mom's care when I'm not here. I'm really uncertain about what to do. Mom had a fall after being there for just one month. When she pulled the emergency cord, they told her it was for real emergencies. Isn't a fall an emergency? If residents are younger and good on their feet, this place would probably be alright. For mom who's elderly and 96, it just didn't work out.

"Unimpressed by No Outings or Follow-up at Facility"

I wasn't super excited that there weren't trips for people living there. They don't have any rides, which is weird because I've seen that at all the 13 other places I've been to recently. And nobody checked back with me after my visit.

"Great Community"

We're really pleased with their service for our loved one. The only issue is the limited food options for dietary restrictions. The staff is friendly and responsive. The building is older but well-maintained, and the room has everything we need. Highly recommend!

"Clean, friendly, and happy residents – a great choice!"

This place was clean and had friendly staff. The residents were happy. Medication supervision and escorting are included in the price. The rooms were nice. Not the fanciest, but still good. We will probably choose this place.
