The Carnelian III

"Top-Notch Care for Your Loved One"
My dad was 104 years old when he stayed at the Carnelian. He had dementia, needed a lot of help, and had special needs. He could be challenging and difficult at times. The Carnelian staff was amazing in taking care of him. They were very attentive, compassionate, patient, knowledgeable, and personal with the residents. I saw this every time I visited (2-3 times a week). Each resident has primary caregivers, which makes the relationships close and caring. The grounds are beautiful, with lush gardens and large decks perfect for being outside. The activities are excellent (games, movies on a big screen, live music, etc.) and encouraged. They also host amazing parties on holidays like July 4, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. And the food is excellent! Lastly, I can't say enough about the staff, especially the manager. She is full of energy, available, hands-on, smart, knowledgeable, communicative, and compassionate—a truly special person. Simply put, this is the place for your aging loved one.

"A lovely place with nice decor, family-like treatment for residents"
This place called The Carnelian is really nice. It's made up of a bunch of houses and gardens that are pretty charming. The decorations inside are fancy and fancy-looking. My husband wouldn't have liked it because he prefers things to be super neat and simple, almost like how things are in the military. But I thought the way the manager/owner treats the people who live there was good. It's like they treat them just like family.

"Perfect place for mom's care and comfort!"
It took me three years to find the right place for my mom, who is now 89 and has moderate dementia. The Carnelian feels like home for her. It’s big enough for her to meet a variety of people but small enough for her to get the care she needs. The caregivers are always the same and treat her like family. Don’t waste your time trying to put a loved one with dementia in a big assisted living place. They need warm, loving care and stimulation—not just an apartment!
