"Inconsistent and Rate Hikes: Assisted Living's Shortcomings"
Sometimes, the assisted living place isn't so great. They don't always do what they say they will. Plus, they might suddenly make you pay more money without warning. It's like you have to remind them to do their job properly.

"Warm and Clean, But Know Their Limits"
They are really nice and the place is super clean and nice. Overall, it's been really great. When we first talked to them, I didn't know that none of the people who work there are licensed health professionals, except maybe the Director. So, my only suggestion would be to make sure everyone knows that they only provide assisted living and any skilled nursing care needs to be outsourced.

"Mixed Experience: Good Food, Clean Facility, but Care Concerns"
I wouldn't tell people to choose this place. My mom fell three times there. Even though I paid for eight visits from their caregivers, I didn't get all eight. Sometimes, when my mom needed help and pressed the button, it took them forever to come to her. The nurse didn't give my mom her medicine that the emergency room doctor said she needed. I had to take her back to the hospital. On weekends, there were only three caregivers for over a hundred people living there. After 13 days, I took my mom out because they said she wasn't hurt when she fell, but I have pictures of her injuries. The food was good, and the place was clean.

"Mixed feelings about assisted living facility; food stands out."
The place is okay, but it's not amazing. Some workers are really good, but others just seem like they're there to collect a paycheck. I think you should think about this place, but I wouldn't say you have to go there. The food is the best part. It's more for people who need some help, not for those who need a lot of care. They do have hospice for some people, but if your family member can't move around much, you need to think carefully about if this is the right place for them.

"Average experience with staff communication; meals and activities available."
Our family and our loved one have had a so-so time at this community. It'd be great if the staff could talk more with us. They provide meals and activities to help residents make friends.

I chose this community because it was clean and smelled better than others. It's a friendly place, although the meals could be better.

"Assisted Living Facility Earns Trust Through Dedication and Care"
When my mom moved to The Commons at Dallas Ranch, we had some challenges that made me doubt my decision. But certain staff members went out of their way to fix things, and once my mom settled in, I knew we had chosen well. The people who manage the place, cook the food, handle the medicine, and clean up are all very professional and proud of what they do. They've shown that by achieving great results. They also treat my mom kindly and with compassion. My mom has told me she's happy at The Commons, and our family agrees that she's much happier now that she lives there.

"Friendly Community with Room for Improvement"
Living here is quite different from having your own house and being self-sufficient. Initially, the other residents weren't very friendly, but over time, they started trusting us, and now we're regulars here. It took a few experiences to get used to employees popping into our apartment at any time, especially during lockdowns. Despite that, we're happy with our apartment and feel very comfortable here. The only downside is the food. It keeps us going but isn't anything special. The meals often don't match what's listed on the menu sheets and can be repetitive.

"Friendly place with nice facilities"
The other residents here are very friendly, and so is the staff. Overall, it's a really welcoming place. The facility is nice and kept clean. The dining area and all the common areas look good, and the living spaces are comfortable. Our loved one got a really nice haircut at the salon, which she enjoyed.

"Great facility with attentive staff and good memory care"
This facility is big and new. The senior staff is very attentive. They have a good mix of people, not all are disabled. They also offer memory care. The apartments are nice and the location is great. Meals are good, and dining is well managed. They even do one load of personal laundry a week. It’s a nice place that my dad liked, and it made me feel comfortable too. The tour was fantastic and well done.

"Great care for dad in a clean, attentive community"
This is a great place for my father. We like the staff and how clean the environment is. The staff are amazing and always take care of his needs. We’re happy knowing he’s active and doing well with the other residents. We would recommend this community to other families for their loved ones.

"Mom's Dog Joined Too!"
My mom and her dog are settling in really well. She has a nice 2-bedroom apartment with a porch. The staff here are friendly and attentive to all the residents. There are lots of activities and special events for those who want to join. Mom enjoys going to the dining room and spending time with other residents, although she's not too thrilled about the food since she's a good cook herself.

"Exceptional Care and Comfort at The Commons!"
The Commons is an amazing place for your loved one. Everyone there, from the Executive Director to the Bus Driver, is incredibly respectful. They are kind and go the extra mile to care for the residents. It feels like home, where everyone treats you like family. They offer personalized care to enrich residents' minds, bodies, and spirits. They also take great care of the residents' families. If you want a place where you feel comfortable and confident, THE COMMONS AT DALLAS RANCH is perfect. The Executive Director is professional, friendly, and always communicates well. The place is clean, spacious, and has a caring staff. The rooms are bright, the food is healthy, and they offer extra meals if needed. They have Bingo, shopping, movie nights, and a private room for gatherings. They will try to add any activities residents want and have a salon for hair and nails. They provide all levels of assisted living and a secure memory care wing. I feel confident knowing my Mother-In-Law is safe and well cared for. We visited many places before choosing The Commons at Dallas Ranch, and we're thrilled we found an opening. I highly recommend The Commons.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
We had to take my mom out of this place because it's really bad. Don't judge by how it looks because we thought it was nice but it's not. The people working there didn't know what they were doing when my mom got there. They didn't even bother to check her medicines. There aren't enough workers to take care of everyone's stuff. They've had two big flu outbreaks where everyone had to stay inside for three weeks. That shows you how dirty it is. Our time there was just terrible.

"Staff Neglect and Rude Manager at Memory Care Unit"
My folks stay in the Memory Care section and they pay a lot for it, yet the staff never tells them when activities are happening. Another thing, the shuttle is supposed to be free to use on Thursdays for doctor's appointments. But whenever my parents try to use it, they're told it's being used for tours and it's not available. They always have to move their doctor's dates. The manager isn't nice at all and never tells the whole truth about the place, even when I ask him.

"Promising Start: Assisted Living Welcomes Mom, Dog, with Kindness"
My mom moved in a week ago. Staff's been good. Mom could bring her small poodle, which helps. She had to move suddenly when my dad passed, making things tough, especially with her dementia. But she's adjusting, and staff's been really nice. We picked The Commons because friends recommended it, it's close, and they allow pets. We're optimistic about Mom's stay here.

"Mom's Happy Transition Thanks to Great Staff!"
It was tough for us emotionally to deal with this situation. Anything involving parents is hard, and we felt some guilt. But The Commons made us feel much better. My mom is happy and loves meeting new people. From the start, visiting The Commons at Dallas Ranch has been easy. Everyone has been friendly and welcoming, making the move smooth. Mom has adjusted quickly and is having fun. One day when I visited, she didn’t want to leave her arts and crafts because she was busy with her friends. She said, “I can’t go now; I’m busy with my friends!” This made me realize she was really happy there. The staff is friendly and attentive. They always greet me with a smile and tell me about what mom has been doing. They let me know she enjoys her meals and singing to music. One day, when I visited, the group was listening to a book being read. The staff asked questions and discussed the book with them, and it was great to see mom join in. My family and I are very thankful for the staff’s care and enthusiasm for mom and the other residents as they move into this new phase of their lives.

"Busy but Nice Facility, Pricey for Budget, Great Activities"
This place was really nice, but it felt too crowded for me. There were so many people living there, and the rehab people said it might not be the best fit for my relative. We needed top-notch care all the time. Plus, it cost more than we could afford. They do have fun things to do, though. Shoutout to A Place For Mom for helping us find it.

"Lack of General Information at Assisted Living Facility"
This place is ridiculous. You request basic info and they insist on you providing all your details first before they give you any information. And then they can't even assist you! Why can't they just make basic info freely available?

"Administrative Process Needs Improvement"
The place is pretty good overall, but there's a problem with the paperwork stuff. I've been trying to get long-term care for my mom, and it seems like they keep losing the papers. I've had to go there multiple times just to sort it out. They should definitely make the paperwork process better.

"Attentive staff and overall pleased with the facility"
So far, so good at The Commons at Dallas Ranch. Mom had a few issues at first, but she is happy there now. We’re still discussing the price, which is similar to other places. Communication here is pretty good. My mom has no complaints. The staff is very attentive and does their job well, which I appreciate. They encourage whatever interests Mom. There are some minor issues, like missing towels after laundry, but nothing major. Overall, I’m pleased with the facility.

"Extremely Happy with Their Care"
They did a great job helping my mom settle in and managing her appointments and care. They keep her busy with lots of activities, especially good ones for dementia patients. The place is really nice, and I'm happy she's there. Their main goal was to keep her safe, healthy, and happy, and they've done an awesome job. I'm very pleased with them.

"Don't Trust Looks: Commons of Dallas Ranch Fails Residents"
The folks running the Commons of Dallas Ranch seem to put more thought into looks than substance. Don't be fooled by the nice exterior. Anyone with a family member living there knows the real deal. They just don't put residents' care, safety, and overall well-being first. It's just not up to par. The memory care unit is overstuffed with residents, but there aren't enough staff to manage everyone's needs properly. The caregivers do the best they can, but they're stretched too thin. I've noticed this place has become more of a "keep an eye" kind of place, not a nurturing one. Often, residents are abandoned in the TV room. If two residents need help, everyone else is left on their own. The food quality has hit rock bottom. Lots of canned or pre-packaged food is served, and none of it tastes good. I wouldn't recommend leaving your loved one here. It feels like the owners care more about making money than actually providing good care. They don't really respond to concerns, either.

"Mixed Feelings About This Assisted Living Facility"
I really liked the grounds and the area. It's only 5 minutes away from my house, and the layout is square-shaped. However, it's smaller than Westmont. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars. The reviews for this place are worse than Westmont when it comes to staff and management turnover.

"Headline: "Wave of Decline Hits Assisted Living Facility""
The once beautiful Lemon Tree Assisted Living facility has taken a nosedive in quality. These problems have come up especially since the new management took over half a year ago and recruited the new Executive Director. An influx of residents who desperately need more attentive care are being admitted, but the staff is not receiving the necessary training to accommodate their needs. When these residents require additional care, the corresponding fees are shockingly high. Single rooms are now doubling up to accommodate the increased number of residents. Moreover, dietary requests are largely ignored. If your health conditions worsen, like dementia or mobility issues, they make it nearly impossible to stay due to astronomical costs.

"Didn't See Much Activity"
That place was really nice. The lady who showed us around was super nice to my mom. But there was something that bothered us. We visited during the middle of the day, and even though it was a big facility, it felt empty. It's a nice place, but the lack of activity bothered me.

"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living Commons; Pleasant Overall Experience"
This place seemed nice: good location and friendly people. There's a concern about being on the second floor due to mobility, but my mom walks around fine at home. I think she could manage stairs if needed. At this place, there are no balconies. The fridge was big, which isn't ideal since my mom only needs snacks with 3 meals provided. The only activity we saw was bingo for money, which my mom doesn't like. This made activities seem limited. Mom isn't sure about set dining times; she prefers eating when she wants. Also, the idea of a communal salad bar doesn't appeal. Fresh food anytime would be better. We'll need to look into this more.
