"Dreadful Experience: Lack of Care for Elderly at Facility"
My grandmother had an awful time at this assisted living facility. Despite her heart problem, they didn't provide any emergency precautions. What's worse, when she fell a few times, they didn't come to her aid. I strongly advise against bringing any of your elderly loved ones here.

"Comfortable Assisted Living with Friendly Staff and Great Location"
This place is a different kind of assisted living. It feels more like an apartment or an old hotel, which works well for our loved one. They offer other living options too. They could use more staff, but they do a good job overall. Everyone is friendly and attentive. The rooms are big, with a sliding glass door and a small patio, adding to the spacious feel. The bathrooms are a bit small and not very modern. There is a large walk-in closet and another big closet for lots of storage. The facility is in an older building, a few blocks from the Mission Inn in downtown Riverside, which makes for a nice walk. It’s in a residential neighborhood, making it feel more homey. Parking for visitors can be tough at times. Some residents complain about the food, but we haven't had any issues. The biggest problem is probably the slow elevators! If you’re looking for a mid or lower-priced facility, this is a good choice. I can’t compare it to other places. This isn’t a small, intimate setting, so it might not work as well for some older people or those who need a more social environment. There is a mix of ages here. They also have independent living and daily activities. Transportation to appointments or activities is provided, and is very helpful and accommodating. After visiting several places, we chose The Grove and feel we made the best choice for our loved one.

"Beautiful Facility with Great Care, Highly Recommend Despite Waiting List"
I visited this place and it’s really nice with lots of pretty furniture. It’s very clean, the staff is friendly, and the rooms are spacious. the Administrator, gave us a tour and was very patient and kind. I really wanted to move my mom in right away, but they were full which is a good sign. We put our name on the waiting list. Their prices are great for the care they offer. I definitely recommend checking out this facility.

"Appointment confusion and location woes marred potential assisted living visit."
We didn't make it inside. The place is downtown near Mission Inn, too crowded. The tall building scared my dad. When I called to cancel, the person was on maternity leave and no one knew about our appointment.

"Mediocre Care, False Reporting at Five-Star Facility: Look Elsewhere"
Sure, the place is clean, which could earn it five stars perhaps. But that's where the high ratings stop. The actual care here? It's downright terrible. If a light goes on, you're waiting forever for someone to finally show up. The therapy department workers are doing their best; they're great. But their leader and the social worker? No way. All they do is talk, and then jot down incorrect notes to pass on to Medicare and such. They don't really care about the patient at all. It's all about keeping the money flowing and holding on to that unearned five-star rating. If your family member relies on them, you really need to find a different place.

"Compassionate care and close proximity at The Grove Care and Wellness"
My parents live at The Grove Care and Wellness. My stepfather needed special care in their skilled nursing facility, and at the same time, my mother needed home hospice. The General Manager and his team made sure my mom could stay close to my stepfather. Everyone there is incredibly caring. My dad is still living in the assisted living unit and is happy there.

"Great Care and Cleanliness!"
I am very happy with how the staff took care of my mother. The maintenance team did a great job keeping her room clean and organized. Her clothes were always returned to her room and put away properly, so there was never any confusion. The food was delicious and nutritious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

"Care lacking at supposedly top-rated facility; avoid for better options."
This place, supposed to be five stars, needs to do better. The care isn't great; sometimes it's just okay. Nurses told our dad not to use the call button because they're too busy. When we asked for help, they made our dad wait in his wheelchair for hours. Don't be fooled by the nice furniture; they don't make your loved one comfortable. They only do the minimum, and they messed up with medicines and records. We complained, but the promises for change never happened. They'll say what you want to hear, but won't do it.

"Subpar Treatment and Unfulfilled Promises at Five-Star Facility"
This place claims to be top-notch, but it falls short. They don’t seem to truly care about those they're meant to take care of. Care is poor at best and, worse, staff told my dad not to use the call button due to their busy schedule. They haven't handled special requests well, like helping my dad with his wheelchair, often leaving him unattended for long periods. If you want reliable care for your loved one, I'd recommend elsewhere. Big-ticket items and fancy decorations don't make up for lack of good care. They do the bare minimum, messing up critical tasks like correct medications and records. We reached out to their social worker, Lily, who promised improvement, but no changes were actually made. They're full of talk but no action.

We are really happy with them so far. My loved one enjoys the food, and we haven’t had any complaints. I think they deserve a five-star rating.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
My brother's been at the assisted living facility for a bit, but they still haven't figured out his routine. I've asked multiple times for simple things, like opening his milk at breakfast since he has arthritis. But they don't listen, and he can't even drink the milk they bring. When he buzzes for help, it takes forever for them to respond. Some staff are friendly, but others act like doing their job is a favor.

"Somewhat Unhappy With Brother's Assisted Living Experience"
My brother's been living here for some time now, and I've been hoping they would figure out his daily needs. I've repeatedly asked for certain things to be done, but it seems like my requests are ignored. I've specifically mentioned that his breakfast milk needs to be opened because his arthritis makes it hard for him to do it, but even after multiple requests, this hasn't been done. He often can't drink his milk due to this. Whenever he rings for help, it sometimes takes up to an hour for someone to respond. While a few staff members (especially those in charge) are quite nice, others appear to think that they're doing my brother a favor by merely doing their job, rather than doing so with a positive attitude.
