"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Staffing and Communication"
The people at the front desk were really nice when we first came in, but when my dad arrived, nobody bothered to welcome us or introduce themselves. The staff on the floor were generally good and caring, and the place was kept clean, except for one worker who got sick with Covid and spread it to several residents. When my dad passed away, they told me he had Covid, but nobody reached out to me. I just happened to run into a nurse aide who said sorry, and that's when I found out. They really need to have a nurse on staff because they call 911 for every little thing instead of having someone qualified to handle minor issues. The food was decent, and the activities were alright for my dad, who was in memory care. But they definitely need better communication and more qualified medical staff on hand.

"Activities Need Improvement at Assisted Living Facility"
For the money we pay, the food could definitely be improved. The portions are way too small. They should also enhance the activities. I spent five whole days there, and all they did was play bingo, sing-along, and watch movies.

"Affordable, but Not Perfect"
I liked the Groves of Tustin, but it wasn't very secure—you could just walk out. It's smaller and older than other places we saw, but it's more affordable.

"Lacking Medical Staff and Proactive Care, Needs Improvement"
Everyone here is really friendly and willing to help. However, they don't have a nurse on staff, so if anything happens, they send residents to the emergency room. This has happened multiple times, which was surprising to me because I thought there would be at least one nurse here, even though it's not a hospital. It wasn't mentioned that if someone falls or is in pain, they'll go to the hospital either. Paramedics have said this place often calls them for residents. They also aren't very good at taking care of patients without being asked. I've had to call many times for things to get done. My family member is in the memory care unit, but doesn't seem to get a lot of help. He's not reminded to use his walker for meals or around his room. He doesn't get much help with changing clothes or brushing his teeth either. When he moved in, I signed him up for a haircut every 6 weeks and for TV and cable in his room. There was paperwork for these things, but it wasn't done until I called many times.

"Great Staff, But Pricey and Limited Views"
The people working here are great! Sadly, they don’t have any spots open right now. The cost is a bit higher than what we were hoping to pay. Also, the only things you can see outside the windows are brick walls and the house next door.

"Great Assisted Living Close to Home"
We picked The Groves of Tustin because it's a nice place and close to our house. The rooms are really good-sized; my mom has a private room, and they also have shared rooms. I think the caregivers really care about the people who live here. I would recommend this place to others, depending on what your loved ones need.

"Mixed feelings about assisted living facility"
We picked this place because it seemed like a good deal. At first, there were plenty of activities, but after two weeks, there wasn't much going on. They allow pets, which is nice, and there are plenty of private rooms, so you don't have to share.

"Exploring a Pleasant Assisted Living Community"
It's a nice place to explore. Staff communication could improve—we often need to call for updates. The grounds are well-maintained, and there's an outdoor area for visits with loved ones. 🌿

"Activities Returning, Good Communication, Friendly Atmosphere"
The activities have mostly stopped because of restrictions, but they are starting to bring them back. We think they communicate well with families, and the atmosphere is really friendly.

"Quality Care But Pricey: Limited Accessibility Concerns"
My husband really liked this place. It costs more than some others. The memory care section is smaller. Dad would have a nice walking path, but he can't use it alone. It's near our house, which is good. However, we don't think it's right for us because it's expensive and the walking path isn't accessible enough.

"A Caring Home with Attentive Staff for Our Loved One"
My wife has been living here for just over three years and has been in hospice care for most of that time. She has aphasia and uses a wheelchair. We've been together for 57 wonderful years! I visit every day for four hours to feed her and "talk" with her. I want to say that the staff always goes the extra mile to make her happy and to get her to laugh. They have become like family to both of us. No assisted living situation is perfect, but this one is close and meets all our needs. From the Senior Director to the kitchen staff, everyone is patient, kind, and helpful. I believe my wife's minor improvement in her Alzheimer's symptoms is due to the love, care, and stimulation she receives at The Groves.

"Great Care and Activities, Food Could Improve"
My mom moved here recently and things are going well. She's joining in on crafts, and the staff is taking good care of her. She complains about the food but still eats it all. We picked The Groves because we toured it and thought it would be a good fit for her.
