"Quality Focus at The Montera"
The Montera impressed us during the presentation, but the reality fell a bit short. It met most of our criteria, considering the challenges faced by care communities today. Health, safety, and resident satisfaction matter most. The supportive staff strives to prioritize quality.

"Great staff and meals; recommend for loved ones' community."
We really like The Montera community because the staff and the meals were excellent. They tried their best. At first, there were some annoyances, but overall, the people were great and truthful. From our experience with The Montera, we would suggest this community to other families searching for a place for their loved ones.

"Promising Changes: New Management Brings Hope to Assisted Living"
The people who work here are really nice, and the residents are great too. There have been a lot of changes, which was kinda tough, but they recently hired a really nice lady who truly cares about us. The old bosses weren't so good, but now the place is owned by MBK, which seems much better. I think things are looking up for this place.

"All That Glitters Is Not Gold: A Deptestable Care Facility"
My mom lived there for quite a few years now. The place can trick you with its good looks, but the truth unfolds when it comes to patient care! The staff and management have changed countless times! We even discovered cockroaches in her room and despite informing the maintenance guy, no pest control was called! The roaches continued to be a problem. Half of the time, the medical technicians don't even know what medication they're giving my mom when she asks! At night, they are occupied with answering phone calls at the desk and delivering medication. Very recently, my mom was rushed to the hospital and I only found out from the hospital a day later because no one at the facility informed me. The care is downright terrible! This place might look nice and the food might be okay, but the service is simply bad. I'm taking my mom out of there as soon as I can.

"Caring Staff and Clean Environment, but Limited Care Options"
I visited this place and the people working there were nice. The place itself was good. However, they couldn't give my dad the care he needed. It's an older place, but it's kept clean. The staff really care about the residents. Families might want to check it out if they need care for a loved one.

"Good Facility, Not Suitable for Budget or Lifestyle"
It's pretty good, but not a possibility. He wouldn't be okay with the cost or way of living.

"Mixed Feelings About Oakdale Assisted Living"
What we liked about Oakdale: - Convenient services like trips to stores and doctor appointments. - Fun activities such as Happy Hour and chapel visits. - All-inclusive meal program and other amenities. - Life Alert services provided. - Reasonable pricing and location close to our home. - Pet-friendly environment. - Seamless transition from independent to assisted living. - Transparent pricing on their website. What we didn't like about Oakdale: - Building interiors appeared worn. - Majority of residents seemed elderly. - Concerned about my mom's readiness for this environment.

"Poor Care and Dirty Condition: Strongly Don't Recommend!"
I wouldn't advise anyone to choose this place, not for a second! When we picked it, we thought the Memory Care unit would have nighttime surveillance in hallways. Turns out, that's not happening. If a resident took a tumble or left their area, nobody would tell you a thing about it. The Assisted Living quarter is just as bad! We spent more for additional levels of care that were never delivered! The entire place was dirty! I would NEVER advise anyone to go here!

"San Diego's Assisted Living Gem"
This place in San Diego is a great deal. We're really happy with it. My mom is happy there, which is a big deal because she hasn't been happy in the last three places she's lived. They must be doing something right. They have lots of things to do, like exercise, concerts, games, and outings. The food is really tasty. I know because I've eaten there a few times. We're very happy with the food.

"Happy Parents, Spacious Rooms"
I can't really compare it to other places, but I haven't faced any big problems. The staff are nice. My main challenge is handling medications and pharmacies. When the med techs ask me questions, I don't know what to do. Both my mom and dad enjoy living there. They're very pleased with their room. We checked out other places, but Oakdale's rooms are big and private. It has everything they require. The other places were just square boxes, but this one has a separate bedroom and living room - the layout is pleasant.

"They Made My Aunt Feel Comfortable and Safe"
My aunt is a bit forgetful, so when I ask her about the laundry or cleaning, she says it’s done but isn’t sure what exactly was done. I’m not familiar with how things work here, and I think having a simple info packet for newcomers like me would be really helpful. For example, should I strip her bed for the sheets to be washed, or is that done by the staff? I called and asked questions every day, and the staff was very nice, but an info sheet would make things clearer. On the plus side, they made my aunt feel really comfortable. Within days, they were calling her by name, which helped her feel safe and at home.

"Friendly and Attentive Staff!"
They’re really good. Super nice to work with. My mom’s a big bingo fan, and she loves the food. They’re always responsive and attentive—just the friendliest folks! You feel welcome here. Plus, they have a nurse available 24/7 for medication administration. Overall, they’ve been great.

"Impressive Tour of Assisted Living Facility on June 13"
I toured this place on June 13 and was impressed. It's huge, with over 5000 square feet and lots of hallways. They have a special area in the back for people with dementia. There are nice outdoor spaces, good meals, and a point system to take care of everyone's individual needs.

"Dad's New Place Is Much Better"
My Dad stayed in this place, and I wasn't happy about it. They didn't have enough people working, and it was hard to talk to them. I didn't think the place was clean, and they didn't have enough fun stuff to do. We took him to a different place, and he's doing a lot better now.

"Memory Care Safety Concerns; Varied Activities & Services Offered"
This place has some cool stuff but also has problems. In the Memory care area, the doors lock, which might not be good if someone needs to get out quickly. They don’t handle cash well, so be careful about that. There are lots of things to do here like going for walks or outings, checking out the coy pond, enjoying gardens, doing arts and crafts, practicing yoga, and exercising. They even have hospice care if someone needs it. Transportation is available on certain days: on Tuesdays and Thursdays for medical stuff, and on Mondays and Fridays for going to the post office or shopping. They also organize scenic drives.
