"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Staffing and Food Quality"
This place is pretty nice. The people are friendly and it's super clean. But the staff changes a lot and there's not enough help for everyone. Sometimes, it takes too long for them to come when residents need help. The food tastes good, but it's often served cold. They serve three meals a day, but they don't always get the order right. Even when my loved one asks for something specific not to be on the plate, it still shows up. I've tried talking to the bosses about these issues, but they haven't done anything about it.

"Caring Staff in Challenging Times"
La Posada is a really nice place. Our family member stayed in memory care, and the staff were fantastic. Everyone we met was fabulous and took great care of our loved one. They were so kind, even though she was on hospice and they knew she wouldn't be there long. They made an effort to get to know her. The staff communicated well with us. But having a loved one in a community during covid is really hard. Nothing works smoothly and it's not easy. Sometimes visiting hours were confusing, which was frustrating. The management and staff didn't always communicate well.

"Struggles in Assisted Living: Mixed Staff Experience, Limited Socialization"
We've had some challenges here. It feels like one problem after another. My family member has had to stay in her room a lot because other residents have gotten sick. I hoped she could make friends, but that's not happening. They moved her to a different room for renovations, and she's still not back. The caregivers are really nice. At first, the office staff were friendly, but now it's hard to get in touch with them about our worries.

"Spacious Rooms and Good Food, Overall Recommendable"
We picked The Posada at Whittier because they gave us a discount for six months, making it affordable. The apartments are really big. Even though she was in a studio, she could fit all her furniture. I ate here a few times, and the food was great. They have meals made by a chef and a menu with lots of choices. One problem we had was that the elevator broke and wasn't fixed for a long time. So, people who couldn't walk well couldn't leave their floor. Overall, I would suggest it. She liked it a lot and felt really safe there.

"Staff Is Knowledgeable"
I visited this place while searching for a home for my Mom. It's a nice facility, but it didn't leave a strong impression on me. The staff member who gave me the tour was okay, and they seemed to know their stuff. They answered all my questions clearly. They do have a dementia unit, but it's pricey. I'd recommend this facility to other families."

"Good start for an older facility great location and potential"
I picked this facility, and [Removed] likes it too. It's an older community, but I hope it will be good for daily needs and help them gain some independence. It's too early to give a final rating, but so far, it’s been a 10 out of 20, with 10 being the best. The location is also a 10.

"Excellent Staff and Family Updates!"
I have no complaints about how things are going for my dad since he moved into this place. The staff are great to work with and always go out of their way to make sure he is comfortable and safe. I'm really impressed that they send me postcards to update me on events and special gatherings to keep the families involved. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

"Posada: Pleasant but Pricey"
The Posada was pleasant, but slightly over budget. Still comparable to another community I considered.

"Unhappy with Food Rules and Limited Activity Space"
I really didn't enjoy the assigned seating at mealtimes, and hated that lunch times were set in stone. Plus, they didn't offer any snacks. The space provided for watching TV and doing activities was way too small.

"Wonderful Care and Friendly Community."
The nursing care team has been amazing and caring toward my loved one. My dad has gotten so much better since moving here. The other residents were really friendly and included him in all the daily activities. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

"Decent spot, despite ongoing renovations!"
We visited while they were making changes to the place. Because of this, it was a bit difficult to get a real sense of what it's like there. Everyone I ran into seemed friendly and they looked like they were doing their best to keep the place tidy.

"Distressing Conditions at Assisted Living Facility"
My mom moved into this assisted living facility last year. Soon after, she began hearing stories from other residents about rampant thefts. They're not nice to the residents either. I've heard staff members talking in a very mean and loud manner about them. The facility is short-staffed and doesn't even have a nurse. Then there's the manager, who is also rude to the residents. She's having difficulties because we all got letters recently announcing new ownership. Hopefully, they'll take over the management because this place is currently awful. We are planning our next steps.

"Mom is very happy and loves the food"
We checked out a lot of places like this nearby. For my mom’s needs and personality, The Posada was the best choice. We haven’t had any problems or complaints. She is very happy there and really likes the food. One thing they could improve is having more activities. Other than that, they have been great.

"Doing Well Overall"
I think they're doing a great job. My mom, who lives there, really enjoys the food. She says it's fabulous, which is different from her experience at other places she's stayed. I do feel the staff might be a bit overworked and under-trained. I'm basing this on what I've heard from her, not my own observations. Everyone has been helpful and accommodating whenever I've needed anything.

"All in all, it's a good choice"
It's fine, we're doing okay here. There were some issues with a few staff members being mean, and she definitely has her favorites. They’re pretty good about paying attention to her needs, but she always needs two people with her, and there have been a couple of falls. They could have more activities. The food is supposed to be low sodium, but it tasted a bit salty. She really likes the hairdresser, and that makes her happy. We chose this place because the people seemed livelier, it was clean, and it’s a bit bigger. They even helped us get furniture, which was really nice.

"A Refreshing Experience After Lakewood Park Manor"
This was the second place my sister and I checked out, and it was such a relief compared to Lakewood Park Manor. It’s a really nice, cheerful place. There were two teenage boys at the front desk helping out for their service hours. I talked to James, who gave me a quick tour while Carmen, the director, was finishing up with the seniors in the dining room. James had been volunteering at The Posada for 4 months and seemed to really like it. When I asked him if he would feel okay if his grandparent stayed there, he said definitely YES! Carmen, who gave us the tour, was wonderful and clearly cares a lot. The rooms were nice, and I wouldn’t mind my mom staying there. However, like with Emeritus, I didn’t see any ‘independent’ seniors during my visit. I was encouraged to bring my mom back for another visit, which I plan to do.

"Help with daily tasks, meals, housekeeping, activities, and transportation provided."
This place helps with taking baths, getting dressed, and taking medicine. They give three meals every day, clean the place once a week, and have activities you can join. They also have a schedule for rides if you need to go somewhere.
