""Poor Care, More Money-Oriented: Dad's Health Declined at TreVista""
My time with TreVista Senior Living and Memory Care Community hasn't been great. It feels like they're only interested in making money. My dad's health declined while he was there.

"A Place for Aging Parents"
Overall, it's not bad and I'd recommend it to others in the same situation. I never worry that he might get hurt by the staff or himself. After two weeks, I brought in hospice, and things have been improving since then. He's in better spirits now that his anger is under control, and he eats two meals a day, which suits his appetite. It's a gradual process. I have a team helping out, but I wish the medication techs would communicate better when his meds are running low, not when they're out. I like knowing my father is safe and being looked after. The first few weeks were tough with daily phone calls about how to handle things. We talked about what to expect before he moved in, but he refused his meds at first. I'd get calls, and it was frustrating; I started questioning if I made the right choice. Professionals were calling me when I ran out of ideas. People with dementia can still say no, and he was angry (that's why he needed memory care). I understand everyone is different. I really appreciate A Place For Mom for their support, communication, knowledge, and care. That means everything to me. Without them, I wouldn't have taken the steps to care for my own health and peace of mind. I know my dad is in a safe place.

"Awful Hygiene and Care at Assisted Living Facility"
Our time at this assisted living facility was nothing short of a nightmare. The cleanliness of our relative was ignored - her personal hygiene was not maintained. Her room was often dirty, sometimes even marked with feces on the walls and nobody around to clean up. The bathroom facility, particularly the toilet, was in a constantly clogged state. Her hair was always oily showing clear signs of neglect. Furthermore, her clothes were either lost or grimy. Notably, she lost around 40 pounds in just a few months. We brought up these issues to the staff numerous times, only to be met with apathy and inaction. There weren't enough care providers to look after the residents, making our entire experience at this facility quite terrible.

They offer activities like movies for residents. It's a clean place where your loved one can be. We're happy with the care—they work with residents to meet their needs.

"Meals Need Improvement"
We've mostly enjoyed our experience so far. The staff is friendly, and the place is clean. Our only concern is the meals—they don't seem very nutritious, especially at dinner. They could improve by offering more balanced options for residents.

"Unsatisfactory Experience at Trevista Assisted Living Facility"
We picked Trevista 'cause it's close. Rooms are big. Food choices ignored. Small portions, need extra. Doctor must okay meds. COVID controlled but two maskless folks made many sick. Items stolen. Don't recommend.

"Lies and Neglect at Assisted Living Facility"
We were promised that our family member could participate in events, but learned from a phone call that she never did. We discussed this with the boss and were told it was due to a shortage of staff and that our family member had to request to go. However, our family member has memory issues and wouldn't remember to make such a request. We were also misled to believe that a bus service would take her on trips, but this didn't happen either. This place outright deceived us and we would absolutely not recommend it to others.

"Great facility for loved ones; spacious, enjoyable activities, happy atmosphere."
The assisted living facility is really nice. The dining room is big and has lots of windows. The whole place is great. My grandma loves her studio bedroom. It has everything she needs like a TV, computer, desk, bed, and a small kitchen. She has a lot of fun with all the activities they have, like Bingo, chair exercises, and music events with karaoke or singers and people playing instruments.

"Terry loves activities and entertainment at Cypress Meadows"
We moved into Cypress Meadows on April 1. My wife, has really liked the morning stretching exercises, Bingo, and card games. She also enjoys the afternoon entertainment. She hasn’t gone on any of the planned trips yet.

"Review: Good, Affordable Assisted Living with Slight Odor Issue"
This is a pretty good assisted living place. Everything was clean, but there was a little smell in the hallway on the third floor. The studio, which includes meals, weekly cleaning, and laundry services costs $3200.00. There's an additional fee of $1350. It's not too expensive, but I want to check out other places.

"Unprofessional Staff and Negligence Rampant at Assisted Living Facility"
My time with this business revealed that the staff isn't all friendly or helpful. There won't be a nurse available on site. The CEO is uninvolved and often stays in his office. On my last visit, I was told that he doesn't prefer disturbances. The cleanliness of the facility is erratic, and one room I went by had a really dirty carpet. The turnover rate amongst employees is high, and local people who have worked there in the past express poor feedback. Those who claim this place is reputable are simply not truthful. This facility has a bad name and should be thoroughly inspected by authorities. It seems like they're simply employing family members while ignoring complaints from loved ones. Major changes are required at this place. It needs compassionate people at the helm.

"Awesome staff and great experience!"
The staff at Cypress Meadows is awesome! They have been so caring, supportive, and responsive. My dad wasn't too happy at first, but they made him feel comfortable really quickly. The whole place has a great vibe. It's been an amazing experience, and I highly recommend them. I'm a huge fan of these people!

"Warm and Welcoming Assisted Living with Great Activities and Food"
This place is really nice! The staff are super friendly and make everyone feel really welcome. They have lots of fun things for the residents to do, so they never get bored. And the food is yummy too! Plus, if you have any special food requests, they're happy to help. We checked out a bunch of places, but we liked this one the best because it feels like a cozy home.

"Dreadful Facility: Horrible Experience both Emotionally and Financially!"
This facility is AWFUL for your loved ones to reside in. My grandmother was there and part of their hospice, which they managed clumsily. The employees are impolite and failed to ease her into the hospice program. My grandmother had a hospital bed, wheelchair and hoyer lift from a DME company. Yet after she passed away, Cypress Meadows wrongly claimed another DME provider took all the equipment. This is false--I checked--because they're using those items for another PATIENT now!!! They forced me to pay for the equipment because they won't give it back to the DME company. Those belongings were uniquely my grandmother's and they're not being honest about it. No other family member of mine will stay there, due to their business ethics, or lack thereof. This caused me to lose MONEY and emotional stress. TERRIBLE!!!!!

"The Best in Care"
This is the third place my family member has stayed. They all have problems, but what makes this facility stand out is the staff. If you mention an issue, they address it, unlike Dallas Commons, which only paid lip service. The caregivers ask about my family member's preferences for all aspects of care. The med techs are friendly and know how to encourage residents to take their medications. The receptionist goes above and beyond for the residents and their families. I would have given an overall rating of 5, but there are a few employees who need to improve in dementia care (not following guidelines), and the third floor needs attention regarding the flooring (the cement floor is breaking up, causing carpeting not to lie flat). Additionally, the common area windows need cleaning. One of the cooks heavily favors Hispanic food, which my generation appreciates, but the current residents don't like as much. The other cook provides well-balanced meals based on what they're accustomed to. I also think laundry should be done more frequently than once a week.

"They are Helpful But Facility Feels Old and Pricey. Double Check."
They are really smart and helpful. The building felt way older than its 14 years. Didn't quite like the idea of the memory care being on the 3rd floor, reachable only by an elevator. Westmont and The Commons both have those on the 1st floor. This facility was the priciest out of the three I checked out and they also charge a fee for managing medications - something the others didn't mention. I'll need to look into that. They do have pretty good reviews online.

"Consistent, Caring Staff Makes Cypress Meadows Stand Out"
We've had a really good experience with them so far. The place is very clean, and their prices are reasonable compared to others. We didn’t look at many other options because Cypress Meadows has a great reputation and is in a good location. A close friend also recommended it, which helped. We’re happy with everything so far! What really convinced us was their consistent staff. They don’t have a lot of turnover, which is a good sign. They stay in touch with us and call right away if there's an issue with mom. They involve us in her care, and we really appreciate that.

"Suitable Financially, But Lacking Needed Care"
Our friend was recently at this assisted living place. We think things would've been better if she was in the dementia-focused spot. In assisted living, they kinda assume the residents can mostly take care of themselves, but our friend was past that stage. They cleaned her room only weekly and didn't clean up if food got on the floor. Even though it might not be their job since she wasn't in the special section, we thought they should've kept it cleaner. Cypress wasn't bad for us money-wise but it was clear she needed extra help. She stayed there longer than ideal. We couldn't afford the dementia care spot, which led us to move her elsewhere.

"Great Value, No Complaints"
We're pretty happy with this place. It seems like a great value. I know there are more expensive places, but this one is reasonably priced. They have a game room, music, hikes, and bocce ball. My mother-in-law has improved, though moving at her age is tough. They check on her regularly and do everything they can. I really have no complaints. We're very satisfied. It's close to our home, which is important to me. They might not be as fancy as more expensive places, but they are clean and have everything needed. Plus, they're right by the hospital.

"Caring Staff and Home-Like Atmosphere"
This place is really nice. It’s exactly what I wanted for my dad. It feels more like a home than an institution. There’s no bad smell, and it’s super clean. The staff here are really nice and care a lot about the residents. They’ve been working here for a long time, so there’s not much turnover. They really like their jobs and take good care of everyone. We’re very happy with them and would recommend this place to anyone.

"Looked at regular and memory care areas—clean, spacious, friendly!"
This place is nice and clean with no bad smells. The room is spacious enough for my dad's recliner and has a small kitchen area with storage and space for a mini-fridge. The building is a bit worn since it's 10 years old, but I asked around, and everyone praises the staff. They are really good. The residents were friendly and seemed happy.
