"Homey Assisted Living with Personal Touch"
Visited and toured the home with [name removed]. They offer single private rooms. There are two other residents, aged 80 and 86, who have been here for several years. One is male and the other female, who has Alzheimer's. [name removed], along with her daughter, who is a nurse, and her grandson help with care. does all the cooking and meal preparation, including meals served outside. The monthly cost is $5000 and covers room, meals, laundry, housecleaning, and personal care. Neither caregivers nor residents are vaccinated. Visitors occasionally visit the female resident, staying on the front porch or back patio. Visits to Mom's bedroom are possible with a COVID test, and someone may visit her daily. They live mostly in their own bubble here. The house has air conditioning, though it wasn’t on during the visit, so it felt warm and stuffy inside. The front yard is nice, and the backyard includes a patio and kitchen area. The living area has recliners, a large TV, and a dining table set with china and crystal. The kitchen is tidy, and the bathroom is accessible with a walker. A commode can be placed in the resident’s room for nighttime bathroom needs. Residents here handle incontinence supplies, supplements, and medications. [name removed] started this business in 2006 after caring for her own mother for seven years. Residents enjoy activities like watching TV, walking outside, listening to music, and even singing karaoke. Meals are typically served at 7am, 11am-12pm, and 5pm, with fruit and snacks offered three times a day, including healthy salads. Prospective residents need a physician’s report, power of attorney, TB and COVID tests, and a DNR order before moving in.

"Warm Welcome and Festive Atmosphere"
She was friendly and spent a whole hour talking with me about my dad's memory problems. The house is a bit dim inside, but it was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Her grandson was around, and I met a few other residents. The layout of the home is nice, and there's a fantastic backyard where residents can enjoy themselves.

"Exceptional care, caring staff, and a clean community!"
The care at this place was great. The staff was super caring and really went the extra mile. They even made him fresh fruit smoothies! The community was always clean, and he enjoyed the patio. We felt they took extra good care of him and made sure he was comfortable. This meant the world to him, and we’d happily recommend this community to other families.

"Kind and caring staff, great care for Dad during illness"
The owner, the staff, and her grandsons run this place. They are very kind and gentle with the residents, including my Dad, who was there because of stage 4 cancer and Alzheimer's. I felt good leaving him in their care. They were thoughtful and fed him tasty meals with lots of fresh fruits and veggies. They always kept the place clean and made sure he was clean and well-groomed. It was a nice place for our family to visit. I visited daily, and he was always well cared for and comfortable. They were very kind and caring during his final days.

"A Caring Home for Your Loved One"
The owner and her two grandsons run this assisted living facility. They treat the residents with care and kindness, especially my Dad, who had stage 4 cancer and Alzheimer’s. I felt at ease leaving him in their hands. They provided nutritious meals, kept the place clean, and ensured he was well-groomed. Our family visited often, and he was always comfortable. Their compassion continued until his final days.

"Pleasant, Gentle Care at Via Esmeralda"
I visited Via Esmeralda, a home in a nice neighborhood. The house is clean and well-furnished for elderly residents, with a large dining table, big-screen TV, special recliner chairs, and ramps to the backyard. During our interview, Esmeralda expressed a sincere desire to keep residents comfortable and healthy. She has two other full-time caregivers to assist with resident needs. While I haven't toured other similar facilities, based on what I observed, I would recommend Via Esmeralda.

"Understaffed facility seems ill-equipped for hospice care."
It was pretty cramped and not well-lit. While I visited, there weren't many staff members around, and it didn't appear like they could take care of someone who needs hospice care, even though they claimed they could.

"Nothing but praise!"
My dad wasn't there for very long, but while he was, it was a really great experience. The place was super clean, and Esmeralda was so kind and helpful. She went above and beyond to help my dad in ways I couldn’t have done myself. They made a hard situation a little easier. We called her as soon as we knew he needed care, and she welcomed him right in, doing an amazing job. When we first arrived, there was a beautifully decorated Christmas tree that immediately lifted our spirits. I can only say good things!

"A Daylong Ordeal at a Subpar Assisted Living Facility"
This facility was an absolute letdown. We only managed to endure one full day there. It was just too dire for my poor mother to bear. As for the meals offered, they were far from satisfactory. Unpalatably bad, I'd say. The entirety of our experience was simply dreadful.

"An Awful, Short-Lived Experience"
This place is just plain awful. We could only stand it for a single day. My mom really struggled to adjust because the conditions were terrible. The food was not at all good. All in all, it was a distressing experience for everyone involved.

"Kind, Family-Like Care and Great Service"
The service was excellent. Even though our loved one was there only a short time, we felt they were very well cared for. They treated our loved one like family and were very kind to both them and us. We're thankful for the peace of mind they gave us and would recommend them to anyone.
